And Baby Makes Three #1-2

Christmas at White Pines: A Christmas Blessing / Natural Born Daddy

Love Often Comes in Surprising Packages

A Christmas Blessing

Widowed Jessie Adams was about to give birth, and she needed help--fast! Unfortunately, the closest ranch in her small Texas town belonged to her late husband's brother, Luke, who didn't know a thing about delivering babies. And though this charismatic rancher was her only hope, he was the last person Jessie wanted to be stranded with in her time of need.

Natural Born Daddy

Jordan Adams proposed a marriage of convenience to single mom Kelly Flint because he thought it was time they each settled down with a perfectly compatible, always dependable partner. After all, they'd both learned the hard way that love only leads to heartache. But to his surprise, Kelly made it clear marriage would be anything but platonic, and her young daughter kindled fond feelings of fatherhood in his heart. Now he had to convince Kelly that he was not only a natural born daddy...but also the perfect husband she'd been waiting for all her life.

Sherryl Woods

With two other careers to her credit before becoming a novelist and four states in which she's lived for extended periods of time, Sherryl Woods has collected friends and memories, along with way too much unnecessary junk.

"The friends are the only things I've brought with me through the years that really matter," she says. "I could probably live without one more chintz teacup, another tin-litho sandpail or another snowglobe, but I need those friends."

The theme of enduring friendships and families is always central to Sherryl's books, including her latest Chesapeake Shores series — THE INN AT EAGLE POINT, FLOWERS ON MAIN and HARBOR LIGHTS.

Author of more than 100 romance and mystery novels, Sherryl Woods grew up in Virginia. Over the years she had lived in Ohio and Florida, as well as California. Currently she divides her time between Key Biscayne, Florida and Colonial Beach, Virginia, the small, river-front town where she spent her childhood summers.

A graduate of Ohio State University School of Journalism, Sherryl spent more than ten years as a journalist, most of them as a television critic for newspapers in Ohio and Florida. For several years she also coordinated a motivational program for the more than 8,000 employees at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Medical Center.

Her first book, RESTORING LOVE, was published in 1982 by Dell Candlelight Ecstasy under the pseudonym of Suzanne Sherrill. Her second book, SAND CASTLES, under the pseudonym of Alexandra Kirk, was published later that same year by Bantam. She began using her own name when she moved to the Second Chance at Love line at Berkley Publishing. In 1986, she began writing full-time and also began her long career at Silhouette Books with the Desire title NOT AT EIGHT, DARLING, set in the world of television which she covered for so many years.

In addition to her more than 75 romances for Silhouette Desire and Special Edition, she has written thirteen mysteries — nine in the Amanda Roberts series and four in the Molly DeWitt series.

When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

Disappointing. I love Sherryl Woods especially aft Christmas time but Seriously? Up fixing dinner after having a baby. And many other things. A little too far fetched for me.

I'd give A Christmas Blessing 4.5 stars and Natural Born Daddy 4 stars in my opinion. I just liked Luke better than Jordan because he had more respect and love whereas Jordan was incredibly stubborn and pigheaded. Thankfully, he corrected his attitude towards the end but still, if he'd approached everything better, then things wouldn't have been so hesitant and strained between him and Kelly. Now, Luke and Jessie were so cute and they had such good chemistry and I was rooting for them the whole time!

Good light reading which includes two stories focusing on two of the three Adams bothers. Each story is quite different and the second story leaves you with enough information to know that third brother Cody's story is still to be told.

Out of the 11 holiday reads I’ve tackled this season this one, by far, exceeds the ridiculometer! Utter trash. I could not even get past the part where she has the baby on a ranch and her nipples get hard when her brother in law enters the room! He’s so hot. Literally post baby and pre-placenta. All the brother in law can think of is those long, lean legs wrapping around his hips! Jeebus, really?

I am NOT making this up. Garbage. I’m no prude but so horrific and insulting to all women across the world. Shame on you, author.

The only reason I gave this book 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt cheated on Christmas, the first story was an adorable little Christmas tale, loved it, great for this time of year, the 2nd story, while I loved it for it's own thing, I was disappointed it wasn't a Christmas story.
I admit I'm now captivated by these characters, so much so I purchased Winters Proposal so I can see what happens with the family. Although I will read it after my other Christmas books because this next one takes place after Christmas in January. But I must say, I've enjoyed this family dynamic and the quarky funny stories of love, strength, and figuring each other out.
I do enjoy re-releases like this, books my mom may have read but has donated or can no longer find, reprinted for a new generation to enjoy. Fun little family books, highly reccomend for an enjoyable heartwarming read.❤

This is two books. First is A Christmas Blessings. Luke Adams is a man besieged by guilt. He blames himself for the death of his brother Erik and his feelings for Erik's wife Jessie. He also believes his family blames him for Erik's death. Now Jessie Adams is a widow and pregnant with Erik's child. She decided to drive to White Pines for Christmas. Only baby was having none of it. It was time to come into this world and was going to make an appearance at Uncle Luke's place. With the birth of Angela, feelings are thawing. It takes a challenge from Jessie, that everything comes out. Love the ending.

Book 2 is Natural Born Daddy. Jordan Adams is in the oil and gas industry. He got as far away from the family business as possible. He is also at the age where he wants to settle down. It seems another woman was just using him. Kelly Flint is Jordan's childhood friend. They were inseparable. Whereas her feelings never changed, he never saw her as more than a friend. Times have changed and now he is looking for a business arrangement. Kelly is having no part of that, especially with her daughter Dani in the mix. She is all about her ranch, not about Houston. These Adam's boys are stubborn but they need strong women to stand up to them. Love the end!

Christmas at White Pines is by Sherryl Woods. This is a combination of two books, A Christmas Blessing and Natural Born Daddy. The two books look at marriages and babies in different ways. However, they both are concerned with the same family. Luke and Jordan are brothers. They had Erik, Jessie’s husband, who was killed in a tractor accident and Cody who lived on and ran the ranch their Father had prior to his marriage. Both books make good free reading and fun reading

Real Love!

Christmas at White Pines: Fantastic characters and amazing writing. Sheryl Woods never let's her readers down. I love all her series. This book was no sufferent. Lived the surprises throughout both stories. Like how the Adams brothers are so close even though things have happen in their lives that they blame them self's for but it works out in the end. Love them all!

I didn't think this was a new book but when I bought it, I could only find the current release date. Later, I looked more in depth and found they were originally released in 1995. You can tell from the writing and the story that they are over 20 yrs old. Let's just say Sherryl has come a long way in her writing. A lot of plot holes, real life inconsistencies, and immaturity.

Family

Family is at the heart of both these books. The Adams family ranch in Texas and their four sons are maturing into a dynasty. The lives of three sons make up these two books. In addition, circumstances of the fourth son's life are revealed in the second book. I am sure there will be a sequel.

This is really two stories with different brothers' romances featured in each. They are pleasant and well written but nothing exceptional. Still, I got interested enough in the family to look for the fate of the next brother.

I enjoyed both stories. I know they were reprints from 1995, but I had not read them before. Good stories of love that has lasted through the years, young children included, and new baby daddies. I now need to find Cody and Melissa's story.

Wonderful stories!

I loved both stories in this two-for-one book. The story of Luke and Jessie was especially poignant. Jordan and Kelly 's story was very well developed. The ending left me wanting to read about Cody and Melissa's rocky relationship!

Good Read

I loved these two books. They were and easy read about four brothers. The only problem I had was with The ending shushed alluded to another book which was not named. Otherwise it was good.

Easy Read A couple of Texas stories

I often like an easy read to take my mind to another place. I often wish I lived in Texas. So reading a family love story set there is maybe the next best thing.
