Rate this book
Prophets aren't sharpened in an instant. They must go through a "making" process to shape their character and burn off their impurities through experiencing the ways of God. As you explore your prophetic calling, you will understand your prophetic mission--and what it takes to progress through each level on your way to fulfilling your God-given destiny. In Becoming a Next-Level Prophet, author, speaker, and apostolic prophet Jennifer LeClaire encourages and challenges you to sharpen your prophetic edge through obedience, willingness, humility, selflessness, prayer, warfare, holiness, faithfulness, and accountability. She urges you to mature in your anointing and to be a good steward of the gifts with which God has entrusted you, pointing more people to Jesus. As spiritual warfare increases and the world is in desperate need for the clear voice of God, it is crucial that his prophets rise up with power and maturity.

Becoming a Next-Level Prophet: An Invitation to Increase Your Gift by Jennifer LeClaire

4.25 stars

This book is for Christians looking to grow in the gift of prophecy or further walk out their prophetic giftings. I know that this is more for charismatic Christians, but I think anyone looking to learn more about prophesy in the Bible and how the Holy Spirit uses those gifts from God to operate and manifest to further edify the church (Jesus). LeClaire writes particularly those already familiar with spiritual gifts that Paul writes about and this is not for new beginners, but more beginning prophets (I would say younger prophets would greatly benefit from these Biblical lessons and the advice she imparts). I greatly enjoyed this book, but I did have a few qualms theologically. LeClaire does have some excellent chapters in here. I benefitted greatly in my own spiritual walk with the chapters on Prayer and Warfare. They were very timely chapters for my own life and the work that God was doing in me as well as out of me to affect other Christians. One thing I loved about this book is that LeClaire uses a lot of Scripture and it’s not just using it to make her point, but chapters are dedicated to teaching a passage of Scripture in relation to prophecy and a Biblical character. I loved that! It really enhanced my understanding and made me reflect on Bible stories that I hadn’t read in a while.

For me personally, I had drawbacks with some theological standpoints LeClaire makes which is why I’m not giving this a higher rating. However, those theological points were one or two sentences sprinkled throughout the first five chapters and I don’t feel that it was a big enough issue that it took away and contradicted chapters or even misinterpreted the Bible. Due that I don’t feel the need to elaborate and pick the qualms I had apart because they don’t take away from the overall text.

I recommend this book to any believer in Christ looking to be a willing vessel to God and open to walking in prophesy. This is a very niche book and I believe only people who operate in the gift of prophesy and intercession prayer groups will be drawn to this book, but for those groups of people, this is an excellent resource.

It started off strong and finished off decently. It's a learning tool for beginners and reminds intermediate learners, even bible scholars.

The book had some good lines in it, but after a while I found myself speed reading it to just pull out the main thoughts. I thought overall the book had very basic undeveloped concepts, that applied more to general christianity rather than the prophetic. If you removed the word prophet from many (not all) of the statements and put the word, christian, disciple, pastor etc...most of the statements would still be accurate. So from a "discipleship" view point it has some good things to say.

Clearly the author is very focused on the prophetic, which means the bible is filtered through that bias, so therefore verses and characters not connected to the prophetic are seen as prophetic.

There seems to be a lot of care, caution and concern with the devil, which I don't understand, if he is a defeated foe and it made me wonder if other prophets (or perhaps just immature christians) have that same view of always being under attack as if that is some how a validation of the ministry they are involved in.

It's definitely not a bad book, it has a number of good thoughts, but I don't think the title accurately represents the content and it seemed to lack mature, well rounded revelation. I gave it 3 stars based upon this statement.

To anyone who reads this review, just remember, it's a review of the book and it's contents, it's not an attack on the author.

In Becoming A Next-Level Prophet, author Jennifer LeClaire teaches readers how to grow in their prophetic ministry, gifting, and anointing. In eleven chapters, she covers topics like: Obedience, Willingness, Humility, Selflessness, Prayer, Warfare, Holiness, Faithfulness, and Accountability. These things, LeClaire teaches, need to be top priority for anyone involved in prophetic ministry. I recommend this book especially to anyone in or considering prophetic ministry, even though I think this book would be worth reading for any believer.

This book was just a refreshing breeze to the gift and call of Prophets. It offered. Sort of like a direction and guidance to the area of the five told gifts and the gifts of the Spirit.
