She is determined to live the life she wants… Cassandra Trent does not like being told what to do. So when she is forced to leave behind her beloved Bardsley and join her aunt in London, she is furious. She wants nothing to do with polite society and useless noblemen.
But Cassandra finds some comfort in the friendship she forms with her kind and gentle cousin, Susannah Berrinden. Despite being destined to marry Simeon Giffard, a charming and – more importantly – wealthy young man, Susannah has other ideas…
And it seems Simeon does too. He has eyes only for Cassandra – but winning her over might prove to be a near impossible task.
A heartwarming historical saga perfect for fans of Elisabeth McNeill, Rosie Goodwin and Gloria Cook.

As always nothing can beat Anna. She rocks. Brings the true emotions of every character. It is actually like visualizing everything right in front of you..you just have to read her books to experience the feel. Worst can't fill.
I picked this up hoping for a comforting regency romance. It was ok, but I was not as wowed by it as I had hoped. I have heard good things of Anna Jacobs books so I will try another, but this one didn’t draw me in. The cover art was beautiful though!
I did enjoy this book I loved Cassie she was great but Simeon was too weak kneed where his mother was concerned, I also thought as the story ended so abruptly that an epilogue would have been lovely.
It was ok, love the relationship between the two young ladies. Just got boring and dry in places or repeating the same thing a few times. Overall a enjoyable read just it could have been a bit shorter
This is a sweet story, a cleaner version of Bridgerton. The only thing I don't like is how fast it moved and how the viewpoint seem to shift from one character to the next so much. It was an easy read though, and a very predictable story.
