Huntington Family #4

By Morning Light

Rate this book
Kerrianne Huntington’s perfect life was shattered one seemingly ordinary morning when her husband was killed in a car accident. Now, four years later, she still struggles with picking up all the pieces. Being a single mother of three active children keeps her plenty busy, but she can’t help the loneliness that tears at her heart. When Kerrianne meets a widower with two children of his own, she finds herself wondering—is it possible to love a man with the same heart that still mourns another? Or will she have to choose? By Morning Light is a poignant, often humorous tale of love, friendship, and heart-wrenching decisions.

Rachel Ann Nunes (pronounced noon-esh) learned to read when she was four and by seventh grade knew she was going to be an author. Now as a stay-at-home mother of seven, it isn't easy to find time to write, but she will trade washing dishes or weeding the garden for an hour at the computer any day! Her only rule about writing is to never eat chocolate at the computer. "Since I love chocolate and writing," she jokes, "my family might never see me again."

Rachel has over sixty published books, including the popular Ariana series and the award-winning picture book Daughter of a King. She enjoys hiking, swimming, spending time with her family, reading, and visiting far off places.

Ok. I just finished reading this book. Now, I think to fully appreciate this book you have to be in the correct mindset. I found it rather depressing, but maybe that was just me. Maybe it is because the premise of the book is on a woman who has lost her husband and is trying to figure out life without him, and maybe just even the thought of losing my husband is more than I can bare.... So, while the writing style is fine, not compelling though. I had a problem with the subject matter.

Although, if one were to judge a book by the cover - OH HOW I would love to have that cup of hot cocoa in my hands - It looks delish!

This book is kind of depressing, but I loved it! Ryan lost his wife to cancer two years ago and Kerrianne lost her husband to an accident four years ago. They meet, although he's been right under her nose all along, and then have to work through their issues and feelings.

My husband's out of town right now and the way Kerrianne's feelings of being a single parent are described are very believable. I have a small taste of that--craving adult conversation for one thing.

I also loved the secondary characters, especially Maxine. And probably the best two parts? Kerrianne is about as big a chocoholic as I am and it takes place around the holidays.

Kerrianne lost her husband in an automobile accident 4 years ago. She is still struggling with the loss and raising 3 children by herself. She does not want to find another man as she just wants to keep the memory of her husband alive and with her at all times. Her friends try to help her but she is not interested. One day out of the blue she discovers a widower who happens to be her mailman. Even tho' he is likes her she continues to live in the past and doesn't want a future with another man. This book has its funny parts, lots of friendship, struggles of 2 people trying to move forth, and the combining of two families.
You pretty much knew what the end would be....

This is the fourth book in the Huntington family series, and probably my least favorite. It is about Kerriane whose husband was killed in a car accident four years previously. She still misses Adam terribly, and can't seem to go on with life. Therefore, she doesn't wear make-up, doesn't care what clothes she wears, and has lost quite a bit of weight. However, she feels an attraction for her mailman, Ryan, who lost his wife to cancer two years previously.

The book tells of her struggle to realize it is okay to love another man, even though she still loves Adam.

I thought it was kind of a depressing book, but I think it was probably realistic and taught a lot about mourning.

Meh.

This book is about a widow (Kerriane) with three children who falls in love with a widower (Ryan) who has two children. Either this book wasn't as preachy, or I'm just getting used to it. There were quite a few experiences that were more human than they were Mormon, and that was a relief. Reading this book was depressing, and it made me realize how alone I would be without my husband. It wasn't my favorite.

This book was good and kept my attention, but it was not a book that cheered me up. It is about a young widowed mom who is learning to continue on with her life and learning to love again. The man she starts seeing is in a simalar situation. I cried in a few places but not too many. Although it is a romance, it isn't the fluffy happy romance that most of these types of books are. Very thoughtful and probably very realisitic.

A cute story with likeable characters. Do not attempt to read this book without a healthy supply of chocolate on hand. With that said, I discovered a secret likeness for semi-sweet baking chocolate! I learned a lot from the main character's mourning and it was refreshing to see the author complete the mourning circle when it involves children. It took me entirely too long to read this book, but I enjoyed it and recommend it!

I enjoyed this book. It really gives you some insight on how it would be to lose a spouse and have to live life after that. I like how the author was able to draw from real life friends of hers and their real life experiences to make her story more realistic. I always like a happy ending & this one did not disappoint.

Most of my LDS fiction only get 3-stars (even though I enjoy them a lot)--mostly because they aren't great works of literature (and I'm a difficult judge and prudent with my star-giving). That said, I recall reading this and really really enjoying it (two really's).

This is the first book I read from this LDS author. As I read them I found that it would have been better to read the books in each series in order to better understand the characters in the family. As you read each series the writer becomes predictable in the outcome.

I already loved the characters from previous books, and enjoyed the writing so much, but the entire topic of getting over the loss of a spouse is just too sad for me. I'm glad I read it, but cried a little a few times at life's sad situations.

This is the last book in the Huntington family saga. I really liked it but it moved a little slower than the other books. I also inadvertantly read the Independence club first which this book introduces all the charachters.

This, the last in the series, was probably my least favorite. There was just no chemistry. Even in LDS fiction, we can have some chemistry! Ryan seemed like a nice enough guy, but was rather flat. A good enough read to finish out the series, but not my favorite.

This was a light-reading love story. Not too complicated or difficult to get into. I didn't think there was much "meat" to the plot. Not sure I would read more of her writing, though she does seem to be quite prolific.

I read this book out of order and didn't feel like I missed anything.
The story is about a widow and widower that are trying to decide if they can still love their former spouses and still move on at the same time.

Its about a lady that loses her husband in a car crash and is raising her kids alone. She meets this man and has a strange connection to him but feels guilty about it because she still loves her husband very much

I really enjoyed the characters in this book, and how they grow emotionally throughout the story. It was a good read; growth through trials.

This is a nice book about a widow and windower. You get the picture. After getting over the "mourning" chapters, it was a good read.

Another light LDS romantic novel. After awhile, it is hard to remember one from another, but can be fun while reading if you are in the mood.

It was a really easy read and I could enjoy it without putting in much effort. I thought the beginning was a little bit slow and uncomfortable, but it did pick up. I think it is a little forgettable.

This was a pretty good read. I'd give it a 3.5 star rating if it let me. Made me grateful for what I have. Kinda a romance for LDS women.
