Raelyn Love knows she should be excited when her long-time friend Andrew begins hinting about asking her to marry him, but instead she finds herself dreading the moment. Then along comes handsome and daring Dave Channing, who is everything Andrew is not. Rae is sure she has finally found the man she was destined to marry. But has she? Sometimes when she's alone, she feels something missing. Something more vital than life itself. But what? If only she could remember. Her confusion has something to do with a pair of dark eyes that come to her in her dreams. Find me, help me, they silently plead. As Rae struggles to make sense of her emotions-and how torn she is between the two men in her life-the words of an apostle illuminate parts of her path. Maybe she's been searching for her future in the wrong direction. Maybe, just maybe, she did make a promise to someone long ago. A promise to help them find the gospel . . . and perhaps love. She vows to fulfill that promise now, even if she has to risk it all-never suspecting that her own happiness hangs in the balance. Can true love triumph again? In this first, never-before-published novel by best-selling author Rachel Ann Nunes, you'll discover a truly romantic story about eternal love-and promises that reach far beyond time.
Rachel Ann Nunes (pronounced noon-esh) learned to read when she was four and by seventh grade knew she was going to be an author. Now as a stay-at-home mother of seven, it isn't easy to find time to write, but she will trade washing dishes or weeding the garden for an hour at the computer any day! Her only rule about writing is to never eat chocolate at the computer. "Since I love chocolate and writing," she jokes, "my family might never see me again."
Rachel has over sixty published books, including the popular Ariana series and the award-winning picture book Daughter of a King. She enjoys hiking, swimming, spending time with her family, reading, and visiting far off places.
This is a book about finding friends and loves you knew in pre-mortal life. It wasn't my favorite book I've read by Nunes--kind of predictable--but I enjoyed it. It was a nice love story.
However, Cedar Fort Publishing really didn't do a good job of proofreading. I got tired of finding typos and other errors. For example, in one place it said something like, "It costed her...."
This is one of my absolute favorite LDS authors. I fell in love with her books when I was a teenager and first read the Ariana series. This was a sweet book that just make me happy when I read it.
I thought this was pretty silly. I struggled with the dialogue and character's interactions throughout the first of the book. I guess the last 30 pages were better. I'm glad for the forward to explain the book, otherwise I would have balked and put it down.
I'm really glad her writing has improved since this 'first story.'
I guess the part I didn't like was that she was telling so much instead of letting the reader get to know the characters and enjoy the story. It was just all a bit too hokey for me. Sorry.
This book was just okay. Not my favorite of hers, but good all the same. I thought that it had a good message, and that we just need to be looking in the right places, and follow the Spirit. It makes one wonder about what exactly we agreed to, and if there really is someone out there just for me.
In your place is a story of the pre-existence, mixed with life here on earth. Reminiscent of Saturday's Warrior, two spirits are destined to be together as an eternal family. Can they overcome obstacles and challenges to be together? Rae and Tiago work to find love and the gospel of Jesus Christ as they allow agency to guide them through life decisions.
this book was the first one i read because i wanted to and not because i had to, i bought it really cheap on a second hand store and it has been the best investment i have done cuz thanks to this book now i love reading, i remember i read it on a week during my free times and i got full of emotions, it made me believe in soulmates
This is a "makes ya think", kind of book. It starts in the pre-existence where friends are preparing to go down to earth. The book follows the characters as they interact on earth and find each other. Reminds me a little of "My Turn On Earth".
Definitely gave me lots to think about concerning the pre-earth life and what went on there. I enjoyed reading about how the two found each other and came together. Sweet story!
Too hokey for me with problems that should have been caught with editing. I'm glad her writing has improved from this, her first novel. I probably would have liked this as a preteen or early teenager, back when I could handle Saturday Warrior-like stories. With that said, I would like to meet this author, now that I've read a few of her books. I think we might have some interesting things to talk about.
