**A young love. A bitter end. A crushing blow. A second chance at a first love.**
This is a sweet and angsty second-chance college sports romance

The past four years have been all about playing college ball, getting a draft pick for the NBA, and steering clear of relationships. I don’t want one. Everything I once had I gave to another girl.
And lost it.
And I hate losing. There’s no way I’m going through that again.

But when a lay-up during a game landed me in need of medical attention, it brought me face-to-face with Logan Shaw – my first love – the girl who took it all and left me with nothing but regrets.

Now she’s back in my life and I have to face the consequences of our past actions.
Sometimes in life you’re forced to pivot and turn back before you can move forward in a new direction.

** Note: This book was previous titled "Sweet Summer Love". Same great story with a fresh new look.**

This is probably one of the hardest reviews I have had to write. I don’t even really know where to start.

First off I guess I should say I LOVE Sierra Hill. I was so enamoured by the first book in this series so I immediately started stalking her. Her writing is flawless and I connect with it so deeply I hang on every word so of course as soon as I got the opportunity to read this book I had to take it. However, it just so happened that while reading this book my husband and son were travelling interstate for our biggest basketball tournament so naturally this hit even closer to home than normal.

Now in the interest of not putting in any spoilers I am not going to go into any details about the story so I will simply try to explain my feels.

For the first half of this book I didn’t think I was going to be able to finish it. It hit so many of my hot buttons, it was told in alternating points of view with flashes to the past so it came out in bits and pieces as to what had happened and how it had been dealt with so I had all these ideas about what I thought had happened and who was to blame for how they had gotten to where they were at now.

Then as I got further into the story and watched it play out I found all my ideas were wrong but I still couldn’t shake a few of my issues. But I have to acknowledge they are MY issues. And despite the issues I still couldn’t put the book down. And I spent a hell of a lot of time in tears wanting everything to play out perfectly and end up all tied in a nice sweet little bow.

Which I kinda got but it didn’t happen how I thought it would and I really would have liked to see more of them together. The epilogue was awesome and I really loved it but I personally just wanted a whole heap more of the happily ever after, after living through all of the heartbreak they had gone through.

So how do I rate a book that had my stomach in knots and a sick taste in my mouth for half of the story, that had me cry like a baby and kept me flipping pages frantically? I don’t know how to separate the fact that parts of the theme were sensitive topics to me that made me uncomfortable. But on the other hand I loved the writing and I enjoyed the rest of the story. Honestly I think the story will stay with me for a while so I think maybe for now it’s a four star read. Maybe at another time it would be a three star and at yet another time a five star read so for today it’s a very solid 4.

Would I recommend it? Yes, but with warnings. Yes, it can be read as a stand-alone but since the first book is my favourite of the three I would highly recommend reading that one first. See my reviews for them here

Copy kindly received via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

This was my first book by Sierra Hill, and it most definitely will not be my last. I was hooked on this story immediately, and I sped through this in one sitting.

Told with some flashbacks to their past, but mostly in the present, the story of Logan and Carver unfolds. And boy what a story. At about 26% there is a huge revelation I totally did not see coming. Once Logan and Carver talk about their past, which happens quite nicely before the first half of the book is over, the focus is on the present and what type of relationship they can have, if at all, now.

I enjoyed the fact that there was a low amount of angst in this, and the characters actually communicated well for the most part.

I liked both main characters and I was rooting for them to get their HEA. This was a little bit of an emotional rollercoaster and I was hanging on every word. My only real complaint is that there was not a real lot of closure for me as a reader in terms of Jeremy. I definitely would have liked a bit more there.

I truly loved this book thought, and I cannot wait to read more from this author in future.

All the feels are in this story. I laughed, I was mad, anxious, sad, excited, happy, in love and even got a little teary-eyed at one point. (And that never happens to me) Sierra's knowledge of basketball and descriptions of the surroundings made me feel like I was actually there.
Carver and Logan have an amazing chemistry. Their sex scenes are genuinely HOT, believably real and not cheesy or unrealistic. It really helped me connect with the story. Logan is tough, independent and beautiful. Carver has always been a little douchey but when it comes to Logan, he turns into a hopeless romantic. If you have read the other books in the Sweetness series you will be happily surprised to get to know Carver better and his history as to why he acts the way he does. But once him and Logan reconnect be becomes the man you just want to love and root for. Carver is definitely my favorite book boyfriend of 2017 and I want Logan to be my new BFF.I really loved how the story jumped back and forth between present day and memories of their youth. I Love second chance romances. This book is very well written, I found myself anxious to see what was going to happen next throughout the book that I could not put it down.I have read every one of Sierra's books and have loved them all, but this one, by far, has become my favorite! This is a must read, but I will warn you, after I read Sweet Summer Love it was hard to get into another story or find one that was anywhere near to as good.

Sierra Hill's books just keep getting better! Loved Carver in Sweet Girl and love him even more in Sweet Summer Love. Don't be mislead. This is a standalone. But he was introduced in previous books. We just never knew what made him tick. Why he was so arrogant. Why everything out of his mouth was always so blunt and inappropriate. You learn in this story why he's the way he is.

This story had everything you want in a NA romance, including strong main characters. I fell in love with Carver (obviously) and Logan. She was feisty and strong. I laughed and I cried--actually sobbed. And while this story was lighthearted at times, there was also angst. And FEELS. So many FEELS in this book.

“I want to kiss you again.” My breath stalls. My mind goes blank. “Do you remember our first kiss?” he asks, softly stroking my cheek with his thumb. I nod my head. “It feels the same way now. Only it’s more intense.”

"At the risk of sounding lame, and I will deny this to my dying breath if word ever gets out that I’m sentimental…but you own me, Logan. You’re the puzzle piece that locks my heart together. No matter where I am, you’re my home. I want that with you.”

“There’s only one woman I’ve ever called beautiful. She’s the same one I fell for when I was just a boy." *Sigh*

Sierra Hill is a new author for me!! Loved this second chance at love romance!! Logan and Carver went to summer camp together from the age of 15yrs till 17yrs then life took them in different directions for reasons l can't say as it will give the story away!! They came back together by chance, 4yrs later when one thing leads to another and sparks fly!! Thank you for this ARC!! Sierra!!

Sweet Summer Love is book number three in Sierra Hill’s The Sweetest Thing Series and is sweet with a whole lot of emotional rollercoaster thrown in!

In Sweet Summer Love we finally find out what’s been holding back Carver, the playboy pointguard. Throughout the first two books we see glimpses of a carefree Carver who is constantly getting his bit wet by grabbing up those hoop hunnies. But it’s very obvious to see that something is holding him back or rather someone.

Way back when at summer camp, Carver met the girl of his dreams, Logan. Beautiful, smart, tempting, no girl could ever measure up to Logan in Carver’s eyes. Decision, fate and one pretty manipulative father separates these two until their lives cross paths again. From their passions, fears and hope ignites into one story that will have you turning pages to find out if second chances can happen.

Sierra Hill has been a recent find for me. Each of her novels in this series are interesting and just different enough that you don’t see a reoccuring theme between them. They can all easily be read alone with little to no insight on the other couples relationships. Her ability to draw you into her world is effortless easily enabling you to connect with her character’s emotions.

I would highly recommend taking a chance on Sierra’s The Sweetest Thing series and especially Carver’s second chance romance. I think you’ll be highly entertained by Logan and Carver’s history, chemistry and a chance at love.

I love second chance at love books and I've really enjoyed this read.
Pivot is full of feels that will warm your heart and will make you shed some tears, and some hot kinky sexy scenes that will definitely arouse your body.

Carver and Logan aren't high school sweethearts because they only meet at a summer camp during their holidays but they are nonetheless sweet and precious.
They come from different cities and choose to live their young love only during the days they spend together at the camp but the summer before the college is the last time they see each other.
They meet after four years and even if their lives are so different,a future in the NBA for Carver and one as a dentist assistant for Logan, the chemistry between them is still the same...is this the right time for them to start a mature relationship??I hope so because I love Carver. He redeemed himself in this book making me forget what a player he was in the previous books.

I'm so ready to start the next book because I really like Sierra Hill writing and her characters.

First: this is not my normal reading fare, so to speak. I do like a YA or NA sometimes, but there has to be something to lure me in. I really enjoyed the second book in this series (Sweet Girl), so I did not hesitate when this came available for request at NetGalley.

I gave it 4 stars, mostly for the writing and the emotions it caused. It is a good NA story with lots of emotion and a sensitive subject . The storyline had me choking up so that is actually good but on the other hand it was not good as I don't really like how the story ended. It does have a HFN ending but there was something I was hoping for that could not be and was not rational to hope for.

Pivot by Sierra Hill
“Second chance, 4 stars”

Logan and Carver fell in love as young teens. They spent two weeks a summer together then spent the rest of the year apart. Then they fell apart due to miscommunication and deception. Now they are older and wiser. Will they be able to repair their relationship?
First off I love when a heroine has a “boy” name. Something about that just makes me happy. I genuinely liked Logan and Carver. I wanted them to work. Pivot focus’s more on the couple and less on the basketball because it doesn’t take place during season. Pivot is a little deeper and messier then the rest of the stories in the series and I enjoyed it. I hope you do too.

This book was amazeballs. It will also decimate you to read it. Once I started, I couldn't stop. Everything these characters go through is so true to life. I gave a child up for adoption. It was the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done. I don't have the option of knowing anything about her. I think it would have been a lot easier if they had been more like Jared and his wife. I was so glad to see Carver and Logan both get some of the resolutions they needed. I can't wait for the next book. I have a feeling that will be another I read with gusto.

When I first met Carver in the first book I thought he was an asshole. His comments were crude and rude. He was also damn right hot. Now that I know his story. I can't blame for the way he was player. When someone makes a huge impact on your life and you lose them. You will never be the same. Yes you will move on as best as you can. But you also become more sheltered don't open as much. But all in all Carver is a great guy, he's dom in the sheets. One hell of ball player he's truly has everything going for him. He's determined that his hot in a man. He goes after what he wants and doesn't let anyone stand in his way. Swoon ladies!

Love that is to short and end painfully is hard to forget. Especially for Logan and Carver. Carver a big hit and going into the NBS and Logan working as a dental assistant, fate brings these two together again after 4 years of separation. Can a childhood love be rekindled?
This is a sweet romantic heart wrenching love story that will bring a tear to your eyes and heart. This is the first book I read by Sierra Hill and I am looking forward to reading more of her work in the future. An inspiring story that love can stand the test of time. A rekindling of the heart Logan and Carver are passion and romance and beauty.

Sweet Summer Love is the third book in The Sweetest Thing Book Series and while it is the third book it can be read as a standalone book. I feel like reading a book that is not the first book of a series can sometimes make me feel lost, this one is not like that. You honestly can read this book, the third book in this series and understand the story completely. However, now I really want to read the other two books. The story is about Logan and Carver who meet at summer camp. Fast forward to five years later and they cross paths again. I feel like the author uses flashbacks to help you understand the story better. Overall, a really great romantic read.

*Reviewed under new title, Pivot*

Finally, we get the story behind Carver's excessive man-whore ways and attitude about relationships. The backstory between him and Logan and their fate-driven reunion was really great. Two broken people who found wholeness in one another, despite how young they were, a really complicated situation and parental meddling = one giant freaking mess! Their journey back together is just as messy, but totally enjoyable in an angsty kind of way to read.

Logan is a tough chick, and Carver much easier to like than I want to admit. A great addition to this series!

I absolutely love Sierra Hill's books! She is following Addison Moore's 3AM Kisses Series, but it is not quite the same.

This book was great with the story-line from how Logan and Carver met to the jump backs on their relationship. Sierra really keeps you guessing throughout the book as to why these two ended things and what happened! Well it is quite the shocker, but in the end everything works out in this book!

Great story, and amazing characters... I cannot wait to read more books from the talented Sierra Hill!

Second chance romance when basketball star Logan accidentally runs into the one that got away. Dual POV with some flashbacks so you get to know what they’re relationship was like previously. This book started out strong and pulled me in, but I do feel like it fizzled out a little towards the end. A good addition to Sierra Hill’s ‘The Sweetest Thing,’ series.

I loved this story so much! I could not put it down! I read this in one sitting because I could stop. The angsty of this whole is addicting. Two long lost loves separated by time and misunderstandings only to be brought back together by chance years later.

Everything about this read was utterly enchanting. I fell for Carver instantly even though he was a complete man whore. Sierra writes these character with flaw so human and real that the story is enchanting and addicting. Could not get enough! I can't wait to see what comes next! Highly recommend!!

Carver Edwards and Logan Shaw met when they were 15 at a summer camp. They were from two different worlds and had a deal to not contact each other after camp. They had their summer relationship until Carver graduated high school. They were each other's first everything.

Fast forward 4 years and they run into each other again. They both realize that feelings for each other are still there but now they are both different. Carver is a college basketball star in Arizona on his way to the NBA and Logan is a dental assistant back in their hometown. They rekindle what they had before or at least try to rekindle but Logan isn't too excited about dating a future NBA star because of the attention, etc. However, Carver doesn't let her push him away and gives up his player ways for her.

He stands by her when a buried secret past comes up and makes sure that everything is handled. I basically knew the big secret literally at the beginning but I'm not going to spoil it here. They made things work and had their HEA which I personally wish was a little bit more.

The relationship Carver has with his friends is enviable and it's good to see that they have each other's backs. It was good seeing Cade and Ainsley also, ❤️

I loved this second chance romance story and found that this was different then I thought it would be. I was expecting a sweet romance story but was surprised with the many emotions that was written into this story making it such a great read. Sweet Summer Love had everything in that makes this an amazing romance read; there were laughs, angst, romance, heartache, hot moments and drama.

Logan was a fiercely independent woman that didn’t need a man to help her with anything after growing up with three older brothers and a father that didn’t show her any love. I loved her straight away in the story and enjoyed even more throughout the story. I felt my self-tearing up with the pain and devastation that she experienced.

Carver was the captain of his collage basketball team and was soon entering the NBA draft. He had a massive ego and new that he was very attractive to other females. However, the way that he treated was completely different then the rest of the girls. It was obvious that she treated to him differently to other people and this caused him to look at things in a different light. He was a fun character that at first I thought was just another cocky jock but found he was much more then that. He had his heart broken years ago by Logan in a misunderstanding and carried that around with him every day. I loved Craver so much throughout Sweet Summer Love.

From the age of fifteen Carver and Logan would spend the summer together at an elite camp together. Years later after something that tore them both apart they are reunited with each other.

This story captivated me from the start and was written very well by Sierra Hill. I’m a big fan of second chance romances and this would have to be in one of my top five reads. There was so many feels packed into this story that made me love so much. I recommend that everyone one clicks this story straight away or even one click the whole series and be introduce to the whole sweet series characters.

This is the first time I've read from this author and it certainly won't be the last!
Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. Many times when books are advertised like this I find myself not quite getting the whole story, whereas with this book, I didn't find that at all.
Even though I want to read the others in the series now!
We meet Logan and carver in summer camp and then it switches to 5 years later. Logan is working as a dental assistant and carver is finishing up his last year at college. A freak encounter and a dental emergency and they're brought back into each other's lives!
The book does have flashbacks and I enjoyed reading them and finding out how they were before all of the history that happened between them.
I read this book in two sittings and couldn't put it down after the first 15%! I loved every moment of this book.
I'll certainly be reading book 1 & 2 in the series now!

I love this series and couldn't wait to read this book, I was hooked from the first page and devoured it in one sitting! Told in dual point of view and it does give you glimpses into the past so you see how things develop between them. You are taken on a roller coaster of emotions and spat out at the end, keep tissues handy as you might need them. This is my favourite book of the series so far, I hope there are more books to come. Another great read from this author, wish I could give it more than 5*

5 Stars!

Sierra Hill was new to me when I introduced myself to her Sweetest Thing series. Since then, I've had a sweet series toothache for these books in the best kind of way possible. Full of heart, heat, laughs, friendship, second chances, and love, this author has created an amazing series that is captivating start to finish and just feels like coming home.

Sweet Summer Love is the third installment in this standalone series... and gives us Logan and Carver's story. These two....what a journey they took me on.... ups, downs and everything in between. Logan and Carver hooked me in from page one, and didn't let go until the pages quit flipping.

This second chance romance will steal your heart like a thief in the night and have you wanting to your soul to possibilities. I loved every moment of this emotional roller coaster that Logan and Carver took me on and it was definitely with every moment.

Sweet Summer Love will definitely be a contender for you books of this year. If you like your romance sweet, smart, sexy, full of life and splashes of drama, then do yourself a favor and grab up this today.

I highly recommend this book.

Be prepared to run the gamut of emotions with this little beauty.
Carver and Logan brought out all the feels, they had me both laughing and yes, crying as I travelled their story with them. The author wrote a story that not only brought the intensity of their relationship to life but also made sure that it was not only intensely personal and private but also beautifully romantic.
Logan brought out the best in Carver, she made him want to be the man, someone like her deserved.
I got the feeling that Logan was looking for a reason to change, he knew he was a bit of an a**, but he had his reasons as to why, his past played its part and up until now it had never mattered before, but he knew that for a chance to be with Logan, this tough, beautiful woman it was worth him taking a second look at who he was and how he lived his life and to make the changes.
I loved Carvers evolution and I liked the fact that I got to relive their past as that the author used flashbacks to describe not only what happened before but how that had impacted how they are now. I feel the chance they have, the opportunity they were given was both beautifully described and written, I found being completely drawn into their relationship, it was almost voyeuristic, I felt like a fly on the wall.
They had me hook, line and sinker and by the time they found their path, I was besotted!

Looking for a book that will have you riding a crazy emotion roller coaster? If so, if you really want a book that will have you feeling as if you are the one experiencing their pain because the book is written that good, then this is the book for you.

Second chance romances are one of my addictions. There is something about all the emotions that run rampant in them, especially in well written ones and ones whose history holds so much pain. Another thing that makes this book awesome? Well that would be that the story line and their build up and sex scenes are so realistic which just gets you that much more into the story. Helps you connect with the characters that you can't help but get completely engrossed in the book.

This was my first book by Sierra and it definitely won't be my last. Her book had it all for me and I absolutely fell in love with it. I now really want to go back and read the others in the series, if they are as good as this one then I know I won't be disappointed. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for more in the future!

Logan and Carver were each other's summer crushes during High School, and he told her that they were forever. Carver went off to college, and left Logan alone with a huge problem. Four years later, Carver is the captain of his college basketball team, and a hit with the ladies, even though none of them ever get more than one night. He believes he's okay like this, until an injury at a basketball tournament brings him face to face with Logan again. Sweet Summer Love is a great story that brought out some extreme girly girl emotions out of me. Most of the book, I stayed enraged at Carver, especially his douche thinking, and I did spend some time screaming at Logan to walk away from him. But Sierra Hill's talented writing style calmed me down from my violent thoughts by the end. She also had my eyes leaking a time or two, but the well placed humor gave me a break from the heavy. Their flammable chemistry didn't take long to ignite a ball of FIERY FLAMES that takes no panties prisoner, and finally, second chances that came with forgiveness. I really love this author, and cannot wait to read her next book, which has me ending with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Sweet Summer Love to ALL!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's a bitter sweet love story that starts in a summer camp when Logan and Carver meet at the age of fifteen. They spend two weeks each year falling in love. My favourite kind of story is of young love growing between couples. You get the angst and turmoil of the teenage years and the understanding of the adult years later.

I was very involved with their story, a real page turner that I couldn't put down. It's frustrating to read where people go wrong in their relationships but that's life eh? We've all got to learn from our mistakes.

Carver and Logan part ways after each summer camp is over and made a pact to not keep in touch in the months between. Their love burns bright in the pages. At seventeen they have their last summer together and then part ways. Four years later we get a fair few heartbreaking moments when they get thrust back into each other's lives and the missing years have left them both hurting. They have lots to work through. Can the desperately in love pair sort through it all? Read this lovely book to find out.

This is my first read from Sierra & it won't be my last.

I really enjoyed this story it had enough reality in it to make you believe in the fact that a school/college romance can make you fall head over heels in love at any age.
Never let anyone tell you your too young for love if you feel it then it's happening & sometimes you might just meet "the one" and be happy ever after.

But like any love story it doesn't go without it's challenging parts, Carver & Logan's story are not the expectation.

Reality smacks them in the face & the heart but just at different times of their life's but when your young and as much as your in love the only thing that's different is your options might be a little more scary.

Sometimes life's journey isn't about what's right for you but right for the time in your life.

Follow your heart,
Follow your soul,
And make your life your own.
