Kady: My life is a complete and utter disaster. One major screw up after another. In other words - I'm trouble. I attempted college, but made a mess of that scene, too. Chalk it up to yet another disappointment in my parents' ever-growing list of Kady failures. Deciding I needed an escape from reality, my best friend and I flew off to Europe, where we were going to have the time of our lives. The only problem with that plan is that I ran out of money after two weeks, and now I'm stuck in Florence, Italy with no means of getting home. See? Trouble finds me wherever I go.
Gavin: All I ever wanted to do was play basketball. It's all I'm good at. I bypassed college and went straight to the pros. I've been playing overseas in Italy for six months, gaining fame, fans and having fun. There's only one problem. I miss home. I'm not too big to admit I'm homesick for my family and friends. But that all changed when I heard from Cade Griffin, a former college hoops star. He called and asked me to rescue his sister, Kadence, who's stranded and alone here in Florence. Seems easy enough, right? Except for the fact that Kady Griffin is gorgeous, completely off-limits and a sweet disaster waiting to happen all over my life.
SWEET DISASTER is a standalone novel and the fourth in The Sweetest Thing series. It can be read on its own or enjoyed with the other books in the series.
Sierra Hill is a 2020 RONE Award-Winning author of Game Changer, as well as over 30 novels, including the award-winning college sports series, Courting Love, and the twice award-finalist erotic ménage serial, Reckless – The Smoky Mountain Trio.
This was my first book by Sierra and will not be my last. What an angsty little dish! GORGEOUS Italian backdrop makes for a steamy read you won't want to miss.
I haven't read the other books in the series however it wasn't necessary to enjoy the story of Kady and Gavin. For me Kady came across as a fun loving impulsive young woman but to her family she's a nightmare who lurches from one crisis to another. I found it sad that the beliefs of others had made Kady eventually start to believe them. I liked that she was a go getter, she breaks free from expectations and decides to forge her own path. Gavin is overseas playing ball he should be living the dream basking in the fans adulation and the women who want a piece of him but he's missing home. When we first meet him I thought oh no not another typical jock but he has a different side he's a funny sweet tender man. The two of them together have a combustible chemistry the back and forth banter between them is so funny. However can two people who aren't looking for commitment or a relationship get passed all their hang ups to forge something lasting? A fun sexy and at times poignant read.
If you're into tattooed basketball players and rebellious girls who just need to meet their match, SWEET DISASTER is for you!
This book is a standalone, but if you've read other books in the series, you've met Kady, which means you know you're in for a wild ride. Kady has always been that character who says what she means, which can be overwhelming for some. So I wasn't sure if I'd be able to relate to her character in her own book. But let me tell you, Sierra Hill makes you pull for her. She shows her vulnerability. She shows where her personality stems from. And in the past where she appeared blunt, now you understand her. Understand her search to fit in. I liked that aspect of the book because I truly wondered what made her tick!
And don't get me started on how hot this book was! Don't let the genre fool you. This is not your typical NA sports romance. Being in another country gives it a whole other feel and a lot more places to get busy. LOL!!
Well done, Sierra! Another entertaining book. But I didn't expect anything less!
I've always liked Kady because she reminded a lot like myself when I was younger like her. Yes she doesn't always think of the consequences and she also has no filter. She's a go getter though. She goes after what she wants. So when she meets Gavin let's just say they both have there worked out for each other. Gavin may be tattoos and muscles but he also wears his heart on his sleeve which is freaken hot. He also puts Kady in her place when need be which is alot might I add lol. Also he's ball player most athletes are gorgeous and know how to use there body's on the court and off lol.
This book was amazing all-consuming I could not put it down the characters and their developments were very well written I was hooked from the first chapter!!
This is my first book by Sierra it will definitely not be my last her words have cast and spell on me and I am HOOKED and need more this is a must read so get those one click fingers ready!!
Sweet Disaster (The Sweetest Thing Book 4) by Sierra Hill is book four in her The Sweetest Thing series. This story can be read as a standalone in this series. This is a sports-romance book that is about two people being put together but a situation and they connection they have it undeniable. The one thing I enjoy about his author is her creativity and attention to detail. This story takes place in Italy for the most part and her descriptions make you feel like you are right there with these characters. The other thing I enjoy about this author is her ability to create characters that pop right out of the pages and right into your life. They are connectable and true to life. They will take you on a roller coaster ride of various emotions including love and hurt. Find out what happens when one person comes to the rescue of another.
Kady is a woman who has made a mess out of her life. One disaster after another including an attempt at college. She decided that she needs a break from reality so her friend and her go to Europe for a couple of weeks. The only problem is that she ran out of money and has no way to get home. She is now stuck in Italy with no chance of getting home.
Gavin is just wants to play basketball. He bypassed college and went right to playing for the pros overseas. The only problem he has is that he is home sick. Then one day he hears from an old friend and his sister is in need of help. He never expected her to be gorgeous but she is off limits. Will things change for him? Will he need something other then basketball in his life?
Kady and Gavin's relationship is one where there was an attraction, a connection from the beginning. Gavin knows that nothing should happen between them but will human nature take over? What will happen they can't seem to get each other out of their heads? Will they act on what they know is wrong? How can something that seems so wrong be so right for them? Kady is a strong character in her own way. She is feisty, sassy and has a determination to prove herself. She is trying to gain control over herself while he has only had control over his basketball. Gavin just wanted to play basketball and now he just wants to be with her. He is gorgeous and has a passion for basketball. But he also has a passion for her that is hotter then hot. Could he just be what she needs? Could his strength be her peace? Sometimes when you are told you can't have something, you want it even more especially when their attraction is so great. When things start heating up for them, you won't want to miss it. You will find yourself pulling for them to find their HEA. What will have in store for these two? Is he just what she has been looking for? What starts as a rescue situation become more?
This is my second story by Sierra Hill and I enjoyed this one just as much as the first one. She has created characters that you will fall in love with. Sierra lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and her German Shepherd. She frequently indulges in reading, dark chocolate goodies, and lots of coffee. She frequently finds herself traveling the U.S to see her favorite musicians. Once again she created a fast story that will have you reading in one sitting. You will want to see what happens on the next page until the very last. I highly recommend this story as I know you will want to see if these two are meant to be together or if fate will have other plans for their future.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
This is a wonderful addition to this series. It can be read as a stand-alone but if you have read the others you know a little about Kady. She's Cades little sister and one thing is sure she doesn't care for basketball or players especially after spending her entire life have to watch Cade play. Kady is a free spirit loves doing things her way and in her time however this tends to land her in trouble.
Kady finds herself on a different continent with little money, no ID and no passport. She does the only thing she can she calls her big brother to help her out. Although not happy about it Cade calls in a favor to a teammate who’s brother is in Italy to help her until she can get her passport and ID. Little does she know when she meets Gavin what is in store for her.
Gavin is a chiseled ball player with a great of gold and has a funny side. When he agrees to do a solid for his brother’s friend by taking in his sister he realizes quickly he has got his hands full. To Gavin Kady is OFF LIMITS no way can they hook up. It would cause too much drama between his brother and Kady’s brother. However, the feisty fearless and sexy bombshell living in his apartment may have other plans no matter what Gavin thinks.
The banter back and forth between these two was too funny. I was flipping the pages trying to figure out if they would hook up or would the disaster that follows Kady strike again. I so want more of this Basketball series.
A few of my favorites:
“Eyes up here, dude,” she snaps her fingers in my face, drawing me out of the sensual trance. “I know I’ve got a great rack, and my girls are rather eye catching if I do say myself, but now’s not the time. There’s work to be done.” I’ll admit, all I heard from her was rack and now’s not the time. Which translated in my sex addled brain means that there might be another time. As in not right now, but later maybe. Which give me some ideas.
I rub my thumb over my lips and feel the ghost of her warm mouth lingering. Damn, she even tastes like a peach. Who said apples are the only forbidden fruit?
Kady Griffin is a beautiful mess and has no idea the kind of destruction she leaves behind in her wake. Sweet disaster is written all over her.
There’s only one word to describe everything we’ve done and shared the last two days: foreplay. The easy banter we’ve exchanged the risqué encounters. And now the intense physical connection between us as our bodies move in time with one another. It’s built as unstoppable magnetic force, charging between us.
“Whoa there, cowboy. Don’t go throwing me off just yet. I’m not done with my ride.” She’s perfectly uninhibited. Spunky and spirited. Kady carries an inner light that blazes so bright, it’ll either warm you from the glow or burn you form intensity of her heat.
A 5 star read for Sweet Disaster, Book 4, The Sweetest Thing Series by Sierra Hill. This is the fourth book in the series and here we get Kady’s story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Kady is what you would call the black sheep of the family. She isn't the athletic one like her brother or the smart one like her twin sister. She is the party girl who usually ends up needing help. She tried college and it wasn't for her. Now she has to figure out a way to break it to her parents that she is done with school and has no intention of going back. Before she decides to break that news to her parents, she and a friends fly to Europe. Which puts her in the situation that she is in now. Stranded in Florence, Italy, with her bag containing her passport, identification and money stolen. With no other options, she has to call home. Trying to figure out the person that will give her the least amount of trouble, she calls her brother. Thankfully a friend of his has a brother playing basketball for the European Basketball League.
Gavin is the playing basketball in Italy and loving life. When he gets a call from his brothers friend, asking him if he can help out his younger sister, of course he does the friendly thing and agrees. The first time he sees Kady, he knows he is done. She is feisty, sweet and sexy all rolled into one beautiful package. He knows that he has to control himself and not touch her but she makes it very difficult to behave.
Is love at first sight an actual thing or is this going to turn into a sweet disaster? I loved this book and read it in just one sitting. I can not wait for more….
The 4th installment of The Sweet Things Series is in a different world. So far in the series the female characters were strong and independent in their own right by still held a shy or demureness about them to make them softer. Kady Griffin is the complete opposite of shy of demure. This woman is fire and spark and unapologetic about it. She is sassy and outspoken, going after what she wants full force. However what is endearing about her is that she may be a tornado on paper, but deep down she is so very lost in where and what she wants to be. A trait that a lot of us can identify with, which makes her so relatable.
When it comes to taking this force of nature in the form a cute petite blonde with a wild blue streak (literally and figuratively) it can only be one man, Gavin Lancaster. A man who has spent his whole life lost in his own struggles to find his place in life and even when he figures it out life can still be there to throw a curveball... that's a baseball reference... this is a basketball book... oops! You still get it.
Either way these two are dynamite from the start. With their similar characteristics and outlandish personalities they could burn bright like the sun and blaze forever or fizzle out after a monster explosion. You'll have to read to know which phenomena it is!
Wonderful and beautiful book! This is book four in the series but a complete stand alone. This book takes place in Italy which set a nice, romantic atmosphere. Kady was not my favorite before this book but she grew on me and I fell in love with her!! Kady is strong, smart and completly unapologetic about who she is yet still vunerable and wanting to be accepted and loved while finding where she belongs. Gavin on the other hand, had me falling in love with him Immediately!! He is swoon-worthy!! Together they were an explosive and beautiful disaster!! This is probably the sexiest and steamiest in the series!! The chemistry between them was panty-melting!! I loved the push and pull between them!! This book had me angry, happy, heartbroken, and swooning but I was pulled in from the beginning and not ready to say goodbye at the end!! I can't wait for the next book in this series!! I absolutely love this series!!
I really enjoyed reading Sweet Disaster by Sierra Hill. I give it 4 stars. It's the story of Kady. She is a walking sweet disaster. She may have good intentions, but she never quite thinks things through. Stranded in Europe with no money and no passport, she must make a call home for help. She calls her brother and he puts her in touch with a brother of one of his friends. You'll have to read the book to find out how the rest of her trip unfolds because I don't want to give anything away.
Although this is book 4 in The Sweetest Thing Series, it can be read as a standalone. Sweet Disaster is the first book I have read in this series and I will definitely be checking out the others. I am also a big fan of dual perspective and that is what you get here. We get to see things from both Kady and Gavin's point of view. This review is for The Sweet Spot Sisterhood.
What would you do if you were stranded in Italy? ID & money stolen. No way to get anywhere or get a room. Well...if you're Kady Griffin you'd call your big brother because he's your rock. The person who will always rescue you. As fate would have it your big bro has a friend in the same city you're stranded in. That's how the story begins. Ms Hill was able to check all my boxes for an enjoyable read. If you're like me and want: Hot American basketball player playing in the Italian pro league ✅ Sassy and independent but full of all kinds of trouble heroine ✅ Beautiful backdrop in Italy ✅ Smoking hot chemistry between the Hero and Heroine ✅ Then this is the book for you!
Kady, a self-proclaimed disaster, lives up to her role in life when she gets her ID, passport, and wallet stolen in Florence. After groveling with her brother, Cade Griffin, he hunts down brother of a friend, Gavin Lancaster. Gavin, European basketball rookie, is still struggling with being homesick and lonely.
While the attraction is immediate, there is a nice slow burn, as slow as a burn can be in a whirlwind romance, and then some serious hotness. Easy to read, entertaining story with a European backdrop.
Sweet Disaster (The Sweetest Thing Book 4) By: Sierra Hill 5 out of 5 stars
The story Sweet Disaster (The Sweetest Thing Book 4) by Sierra Hill is a sports/contemporary romance book. This is the story of two people who are thrown together by circumstances but find they have a connection that can’t be ignored. This is the story of Kady and Gavin. Kady finds herself stranded in Florence, Italy with no place to stay. She calls out to her brother for help. Now she finds herself staying with Gavin and finding she can’t keep him out of her thoughts. Gavin agrees to help the sister of a former basketball player when she is stranded in Florence. Now he can’t get her out of his head. They both feel a connection. What happens next take them on a journey of self-discovery and possibly true love.
This is the first book I have read by the author and it will not be the last. This is the fourth book in the series however you can read it as a standalone. The storyline is amazing and you are given a bit of background information on the characters which is wonderful. I now find myself wanting to go back and read the first three books. The reason I loved the book so much is the characters of Kady and Gavin. They are both struggling in their lives. Kady is the middle child in her family and has always felt left out. She feels that she has been looked over by her parents who seem to dote on her brother and sister. She was escaping reality when she goes to Europe with her best friend. Gavin is someone Kady believes sees the person that she really is and gives her a sense of calm that she has never felt before. Will Kady take a chance with Gavin and give him her heart?
Gavin loves to play basketball. He bypassed college and started playing overseas. He has had many challenges in his life, however, basketball is the one constant. He does, however, miss his family and friends. Then he meets Kady. He spends most of the time trying not to think about her and how gorgeous she is. He was asked to take care of her, not fall in love with her. What starts out as a rescue mission turns into so much more in a short period of time. What does life have in store for both Gavin and Kady? Will they find the peace they are looking for in each other’s arms? Read this book to find out if Gavin and Kady get their happy ending. This story does have adult situations and very steamy love scenes. It would be recommended for those 18 years of age or older.
Sweet Disaster is the fourth book in The Sweetest Thing series by Sierra Hill. It is a sexy, angsty, wonderfully enticing read that held my attention right till the end. Kady Griffin has always had trouble finding her niche, somewhere she feels she belongs. She considers herself a disaster and has a reputation for being trouble. She has a long list of failures that make her feel like such a disappointment to her family. Her attempt at college has failed, so she’s decided to take a break from it all by flying off to Europe on an adventure with her best friend, to try to escape from all her woes. But…….. she can’t even make that a success…. that’s right, she fails again. Why and how, you may ask? Well she’s down to her last few dollars, stranding her in Florence, Italy, with no way to get home. What on earth will she do now? Gavin Lancaster is a professional basketball player, who had skipped college to go straight to the pros. He loves the game and dreams of making it to the NBA someday. So he took a position overseas, in Italy- hoping that it would garner him plenty of fans and thereby boost his fame. He’s been in Italy for six months now and the novelty has worn off a fair bit, as he’s quite homesick and misses his family and friends. So when he gets a call from his brother’s former team-mate, Cage Griffin, asking for a massive favour as his sister is stranded in the city, he’s intrigued. He certainly wasn’t prepared for the gorgeous woman he agreed to help. You really should read the story to find out how this all plays out….. I loved this book, and having Florence, Italy as the backdrop for the story was so beautifully romantic. It added depth and an added interest to the whole story. I was surprised by how much I grew to like Kady, as my opinion of her wasn’t very good to begin with. She really developed and grew as a person over the course of the story, and I ended up loving her. Gavin is swoony, all muscled, tattooed, Hot goodness. He has such a great heart and was perfect for Kady. Their chemistry was intense and I think this book is much sexier than the previous ones. Colour me impressed… what a superb addition to this beautiful series!
Sweet Disaster (The Sweetest Thing Book 4) by Sierra Hill is a contemporary romance that I gave 5 stars! This novel is written in alternating first person POVs by the two main characters: Kady & Gavin. Wow! This was soooooo good that I plan on purchasing the previous 3 books ASAP! Even though this is a series, each book can be read as a standalone. I am usually not a fan of sports romance (not a sports fan at all, lol) but this was so well written!
Kady is the black sheep of her siblings with no current plans for a real future-no ambition according to her parents. She is impulsive and adventurous, not wanting to settle down. She decides to take off to Italy, and see what happens-well disaster happens, lol. Her belongings (including ID & money) are stolen. She calls the one person who she knows will help her-her brother. Through his basketball connections, he contacts the oh-so-hot Gavin to help out little sis. Gavin is in Italy to play basketball, which he excels at-all business no girls so he is 100% focused. Being so far from home in a foreign place, he is homesick for his family and friends. He misses having that human connection. He agrees to help out Kady, not knowing he would fall for her. Their chemistry is instant, and even their bantering is sexually charged. Is there more to life than basketball? Has Kady finally found what she’s been searching for? Loved, loved, loved this! Two people just trying to find their place in the world. Kady lives for change, and is constantly searching-but for what? Gavin’s only constant in his life has been his love of basketball, so that is what he throws himself into 110%. They are such opposites, that they compliment each other. Kady feels important and secure with Gavin, and he feels alive with Kady. This was a fast paced, enjoyable romance with heat!
Sweet Disaster by Sierra Hill is one rocking thrill ride of a novel! The fourth novel in the Sweetest thing series can be read as a standalone, and you will not be disappointed at all!
Sweet Disaster is a novel that goes into the story of Kadence, a hot mess stuck in Florence after a series of troublesome events, and Gavin, a Basketball star hoping to make it into the NBA's one day. Gavin is Kady’s knight in shining armour after helping her when she’s stuck in Florence. They start a passionate affair, and thing soon change once Kady leaves, they just hope that this isn’t a disaster waiting to happen.
Kady is a feisty, sassy woman trying to show her family that she can be independent and strong on her own, but fails disastrously. She’s almost predatory when it comes to Gavin, and things change a lot as she realises that she’ll be leaving soon. I love Kady's character because she’s not afraid to try new things, and she isn’t afraid to be who she is. She’s a strong woman, a strong woman indeed.
Gavin has a huge heart of gold, that’s equal with his dirty mind. He’s passionate about Basketball, and wants it to be in his future. Gavin is charming and handsome, but also speaks his mind (to a certain degree, that is.) Gavin is the ideal man for Kadence and I could not see him with anybody else.
Sierra Hill did such an amazing job on this novel, and I loved every single second of it. It was beautifully written, and I fell in love with each and every character easily. Sweet Disaster is a five star read and must be read! AMAZING!!
Sweet Disaster by Sierra Hill is the fourth book in The Sweetest Thing series. Kady thinks she is trouble, that her life is an utter disaster. She attempted college and failed, disappointing her parents once again, but then again she has a long list of failures. She needed an escape, a break from reality, so she and her best friend fly off to Europe to have an amazing adventure. But like everything in her life it turns out to be a complete fail, she runs out of money and is stuck in Florence, Italy. No money, no passport, and no way to get home, see a total utter disaster. Gavin plays basketball that is all he has ever wanted to do. Instead of college he went straight to the pros, he has been playing overseas in Italy, hoping for the chance to go to the NBA. He has been there for six months, gaining fame and fans but he misses home. He is homesick for his friends and family. He gets a strange call one day from Cage Griffin, a former ball player, asking for a favor. His sister needs help; she is stranded in Florence and needs a place to stay. Seems easy, but he didn’t know Kady would be gorgeous, he tells himself she is off limits but how long will that last? Wow, just wow. This story was amazing, I have to give credit to Sierra Hill she really knows how to write a story. I could not put this one down; the chemistry between the characters was leaping off of every page. The pages are drowning in tension, broken up by comedic relief. This story will be at the top of my favorite romance list.
This book was Fantastic, Amazing and Oh so good! I have loved every book in this series, but this one I feel I related to on a whole other level. Kady, the main female character is perfect in every way. She is her own person and doesn't conform to how a woman is told to act or how a woman is expected to be. That is why I love and connect with Kady. She is independent, doesn't care what people think of her and wants to experience life to the fullest. She has her flaws but it doesn't bring her down, it makes her stronger in so many other ways. Gavin is the male version of Kady and it makes them relate to each other so much more then anyone else. Gavin struggles with a learning disability but it makes him achieve so many other goals. He knows what he wants to do with his life and figures out what he wants in a woman once he meets Kady. The tension between them in the beginning is off the charts, their chemistry together is on fire and the sexual scenes between them are Hotter the Hot! The one thing I really appreciate from Sierra's writing style is the sex scenes are believable, real and Oh so good! The train scene is one of my top favorites. Their adventures in Italy are truly fun and authentic. This story has everything from basketball, travel, angst, fun, chemistry, sadness, tension and an awesome happy ending. This definitely is a must read. Thank you for an amazing read Sierra. 💙
*****5 Stars***** Sweet Disaster by Sierra Hill is the fourth book in The Sweetest Thing series.
Sweet Disaster can be read on its own or you can follow along in the series. Sierra doesn’t disappoint. After reading this book I am a fan of her writing and will go back and read the other books in the series. I am interested in learning more about the other characters in The Sweetest Thing series. The storyline takes you on an adventure of family, forbidden love, heartbreak, happiness, anger, and steamy sexy love. You could feel every emotion as they were going through them, that’s how well written the story is. It’s so vivid I could literally picture it as if I was watching it play out in real-life.
Kady Griffin is a hot mess. She dropped out of college and ran off to Europe with her best friend without telling her family. Now she is stuck with no money, no food, and no place to stay. She decides it’s time to call her big brother to bail her out.
Gavin Lancaster is a professional basketball player in Europe and Kady’s brother’s friend. He misses home but he is doing the one thing he loves the most in this world. He even dropped out of college early to pursue a career in the pros.
Kady’s brother calls Gavin for a favor to help his little sister while she’s in Europe. The two become close. Maybe a little too close. Will they go all the way or will they decide that its forbidden?
My life is a complete and utter disaster. One major screw up after another. In other words - I’m trouble.
I attempted college, but made a mess of that scene, too. Chalk it up to yet another disappointment in my parents’ ever-growing list of Kady failures. Deciding I needed an escape from reality, my best friend and I flew off to Europe, where we were going to have the time of our lives.
The only problem with that plan is that I ran out of money after two weeks, and now I’m stuck in Florence, Italy with no means of getting home.
See? Trouble finds me wherever I go.
Gavin: All I ever wanted to do was play basketball. It’s all I’m good at.
I bypassed college and went straight to the pros. I’ve been playing overseas in Italy for six months, gaining fame, fans and having fun. There’s only one problem. I miss home. I’m not too big to admit I’m homesick for my family and friends.
But that all changed when I heard from Cade Griffin, a former college hoops star. He called and asked me to rescue his sister, Kadence, who’s stranded and alone here in Florence.
Seems easy enough, right?
Except for the fact that Kady Griffin is gorgeous, completely off-limits and a sweet disaster waiting to happen all over my life.
LOVED Kady & Gavin's story! Poor Kady talk about a walking disaster but in the best way! I loved her personality and attitude towards life! As opposite as she & Gavin were they absolutely worked. This was a great read!
This was a great story about finding love when you least expect it.
Kady found herself in a big dilemma. She got her ID and passport stolen and is stranded in a foreign country with no place to go. Her brother ends up saving her with his friend’s brother who is also in Italy playing basketball.
Kady is sort of the black sheep in her family. With her other two siblings off doing great things, she feels like she lets them down with her constant disasters. But Kady is so strong and determined that she could overcome everything.
Gavin is so sweet and ends up helping Kady out and unexpectedly falls for her. The temptation between the two of them is hot and off the charts! He was torn about letting go and being with Kady or being responsible and taking care of her like he promised her brother he would. He couldn’t resist and who could with Kady interested in him.
They have wonderful moments together exploring Rome and each other. They bonded because they can relate in feeling like they are letting their family down. I love their connection and there were some really steamy moments.
They had to part ways and the sadness they each felt from being apart is obvious. I love the fact that Gavin chases after her and doesn’t want to let her go even if he did mess up and hurt Kady. Love truly conquers all. It was like fate was leading them together all along.
Kady is the misfit of the family she isn't really intelligent like her twin sister or a athletic star like her brother she is the easy going doing things without thinking about the consequences and is a complete party girl. With her Ways though she always ends up needing help out of situations she gets herself in but when she get stuck in Italy and cries for help which means calling her brother he only helps her by getting in touch with his friend Gavin who happens to be in Italy for basketball. When Gavin gets the unexpected phone call from his brothers friend and hear about his sister needing help he agrees to meet with her and let her stay with him. When he first lays on kady he knew she was dangerous and that he was a complete goner but he tries to resist temptation but with her feisty sexy attitude and teasing ways theres only so much a man can take before he will snap. I absolutely loved this novel I was hooked right from the start and couldn't put my kindle down until I reached the very end. I loved kady she was a amazing heroine her attitude and the way she carries herself just made me like her more. Gavin wow he was just mouthy watering hot and he has a good heart but occasionally do stupid things but don't all humans. The chemistry between them was scorching hot and the sex scenes were seriously hot! I would absolutely recommend this novel. Happy reading!!
Sweet Disaster by Sierra Hill is a wonderful erotic romance, it is book 4 of the sweetest thing series but I have not read the previous books and I found the storyline very easy to follow. I enjoyed this book so much that I am going to go back and read the rest of the series. Kady is an unconventional heroine in that she truly owns her sexuality, although she still has her vulnerabilities which keeps her relatable. While Gavin is a bit of a typical jock but with slightly more humanity than how they are portrayed on tv, he gets more and more realistic as the story unfolds. Gavin is a pro basketball player in Florence Italy, while kady is spending her summer on a whirlwind trip around Europe, that is until she finds herself without money or ID in Florence. Luckily Gavin is there to help her out of trouble, but now he just needs to stay out of the trouble that is Kady. The chemistry between these two is explosive and sierra hill really knows how to write an erotic scene! I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation, the will they or won't they scenes were wonderfully intense. This is a well written book that I thoroughly enjoyed, the wordplay was impeccable and perfect for the characters portrayed, and I can't wait for the next book to come out!
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*** I have read the other books in The Sweetest Thing Series and even though I am not a basketball fan, I thoroughly enjoy the books. The books don't revolve around the sport which is a nice change, but it gives you enough of what you need. Kady... She is the wild child in a family. She has a free spirit and tends to do what she wants. Sometimes (most of the time actually) this gets her into trouble and she calls home for help. Well this last time she flew off to Italy and who does she call for help? Her brother! Gavin... He has the life of a basketball pro in Europe. Women are crawling for his attention and he gets all the sex he needs with no string attached. However, he is severely homesick and struggling to keep his mind on the game while his step father is dying from Cancer. He gets even more distracted when he is asked to help his brothers friend by rescuing Kady. She comes into his life like a tornado and leaves a disaster behind once she leaves. Their worlds collide in more way than one, but will their relationship be able to last once Kady goes home? Who knows where Gavin will end up. This was a great read! If you are a fan of the 3:AM Kisses by Addison Moore, then I would give this series a try!
When I started this book I hated Kady. God I hate hating main characters, but this girl annoyed me so much. She reminded me of the female characters that authors create just to be hated. She was selfish, naive, and did things without thinking first. Those are some of the things I hate the most. There was one point in the book that I wanted to put the book down and walk away. She said something along the lines of "this guy is too nice for a girl like me, but I want him anyway". I thought I would hate her for the whole book, but I didn't.
Kady changed throughout the book. She went from being irresponsible, to actually thinking about what she was doing. She grew and started thinking like an adult. She actually had ambition and had an idea about what she wanted to do beyond the next day. By the time the book was finished, I liked her. And I like this book. There was so much growth in her character, I felt proud. I've never felt proud of a fictional character before.
Anyway, I ended up liking Kady and I think she and Gavin are great together. They can handle each other's personalities, which are both unique and challenging in their own ways.
I wasn't sure if I was going to really get into this book as fast but I was so so wrong. Kady a free spirit and the black sheep of the family I found myself somewhat like her and felt for her always feeling like a failure and having a hard time with relationships weather it's friends or loved ones. Gavin is a sexy dominant male that's a basketball player. He gets a call from his brother' friend to help out his sister till she can move on to the next place she needs to go. He accepts and falls for her sexy innocent ways and her hidden sexy kitty inside. They both have the feeling they aren't good enough for anyone and have a hard time letting others in, but being with each other is easy and enjoyable to always joke and have a great time. You fall in love with these two and Gavin tries to hide his need for her but in the end he can't. When it's close to time for Kady to leave on her next adventure feelings start and she can't tell him she's in love because she doesn't know. It's a fantastic book.
I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review.
This is my first Sierra Hill book, but it will not be my last. This book was hot, sweet, and had some humor which I love in my stories. I've read a lot of sport romances but this is the first time where the sport was basketball, and a basketball team in Italy no less. Let's talk about Kady first. She's always felt like the black sheep in her family(I liked her attitude and her feistiness, and she left school to travel Europe, but when her stuff is stolen she's kind of in a pickle so her brother hooks her up with the brother of someone he knows...Enter Gavin. Gavin just wants to play for the NBA and is focused on the game. He agrees to help and little does he know that he's about to get knocked on his a**. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I love one either one both fights it because when they finally give in it's so much more satisfying. I loved that they were both what the other needed. Now I'm going to go back and read the others, but this could definitely be read as a standalone.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are well done and interesting. Kady is a firecracker and is currently on a impulse trip around Europe when she gets stranded in Italy. Luckily her brother has a connection that gets her a place to stay until she can finish her trip. Gavin is missing home and still has a language barrier between himself and everyone around him. He enjoys the change and challenge that Kady brings with her. Both of the characters are aware of their weaknesses and they do their best to work around them. They both feel stronger when they are together. Time to separate finally comes and surprises arise for both of them. Will they be able to overcome the changes, will they see each other again? This is the fourth book in the series, but you don't notice it or feel like you are missing anything when reading this one. I haven't read the other books and I had no problem connecting to this story. Give this one a try. I think that it has a great message of being the best version of yourself and accepting yourself.
