The team tournament at the High School Karuta Championships. Chihaya and the rest of Mizusawa High faces off against the elite squad and frequent title holder that is Fujisaki High. Each of their players is forced into a difficult battle where they feel the difference in skill between them and their opponent. Chihaya is paired up against Rion, who like Chihaya has a strong "feel" for the game. Chihaya knows that she cannot allow Rion to build any more of a lead and launches a daring attack in order to force the momentum back on her side. But just as she leaps for a card, a sharp pain runs through her finger. How will Chihaya get out of this predicament...? In Volume 15, Taichi's bout holds the key to everyone's fate.

god i just love this volume.
the way chihaya pulled through for her team despite getting hurt was quite tear jerking.
it still being clear that mashima still has so much room to grow, and the fact that he bet damn near his whole life on his card being called.
nishida finally pulling another win and feeling deserving enough to stand with chihaya in class a.
this volume was just an absolutely amazing masterpiece. AND THE FINAL HUG. god im cryin. literally cried with chihaya as she was telling arata that HER team is the best in japan.

This match was so intense, I absolutely loved it.
Not the biggest fan of the whole "treating a girl awfully because you secretly love her" trope, but since they're minor characters this should be fine, I guess?

Every single page was so beautiful. I was all over the place despite already knowing how it ends. It's just such a perfectly crafted match.

They deserve it all and so much more.
