See Kitty as you've never seen her before: EXERCISING (reluctantly) in Bad Kitty Joins the Team, the latest installment of Nick Bruel's phenomenally successful New York Times bestselling series.
Kitty is terribly out of shape--she can barely torment Puppy without needing a break to huff and puff! When Kitty's owner catches her wheezing, Kitty is told it's time to EXERCISE.
It takes some serious convincing, a high-stakes competition, and a little bit of trickery but eventually Kitty gets into the competitive spirit . . . albeit reluctantly. What did you expect?
Will our favorite feline friend learn what it means to be a good sport? Find out in this hilarious addition to the Bad Kitty series.

This is one of the best books in this series! With a combination of humor and information, the reader finds out the value of a healthy diet, exercise, and taking care of one's body! Plus information about various rodents!
So who can win a sport competition between cats or rodents? This was a funny book. It teaches kids about being active in sports, running or other exercise options. It also teaches kids not to eat junk food, that eating healthy is good for your body. Kitty is truly out of shape and cannot keep up with mouse. Mouse brings in the best rodents to beat cats and only one team is successful. Fun book for all to enjoy.
Bad Kitty is badly out of shape, so the narrator is encouraging her to do some exercise and eat better. Meanwhile, after a discussion about traditional cat & mouse relationships Smart Kitty is challenged to a sporting competition by his best friend mouse. It is rodents versus cats in a variety of athletic challenges.
The competition between the rodents and the cats allows readers to get introduced to a variety of animals they may not know much about. Bad Kitty's health challenge is a fun way to learn about healthy eating and the benefits of exercise. And of course, everything provides plenty of laughs. Recommended to humor fans, animal lovers, and graphic novel readers.
After Bad Kitty is told by her owner that she is out of shape and needs to exercise, Bad Kitty reluctantly agrees. Meanwhile Strange Kitty, and mouse hold a rodent vs cat competition, and Uncle Murray is the referee for the chosen events. The fun facts portion is replaced by Strange Kitty's facts, but are still informative, and Bad Kitty learns that exercise can be fun.
This book aimed at middle elementary school readers is interesting as well as informative. The cats and mouse show how diet and exercise is important to health by having a competition between rodents (not just mice) and cats. I enjoyed that comic-style illustrations.
Kitty learns the value of exercise and healthy eating as well as sportsmanship. Meanwhile, Mouse and Smart Kitty have a competition between felines and rodents with humorous consequences. Lots of fun and educational too!
You can't go wrong with a Bad Kitty book. I've been reading my way through the series with my 5 year old. He curls up and sleeps surrounded by his Bad Kitty books because he can't get enough of them. Hit one out of the park and a HUGE WIN for reading!!!!
Bad Kitty Joins the Team, and I'm here to tell you all about it! So, this book is about Bad Kitty, and she's like wheezing and huffing when she tries to play with her friend Puppy. Her owner says it's time to exercise, and Kitty's like, "What? Exercise? No way!" But then there's this big competition, and Kitty has to get all competitive and stuff.
It's funny because at first, Kitty doesn't want to do sports, but then she has to because of the competition. She's not really into it, though. Even though she pretends to like sports, you can tell she's not really having fun.
The funniest part was when Stinky Kitty – that's a cat's name, can you believe it? – well, Stinky Kitty opens his armpit and lets out a smell that's so stinky, it makes porcupine's quills fall off! And then Stinky Kitty is all naked without quills, and he doesn't even look like a porcupine anymore. That part had me laughing so hard!
There's this other part with Taekwondo, where Pretty Kitty and a chinchilla are doing something super cute. You have to see it for yourself. But watch out because it gets totally crazy and not cute at all!
From this book, I learned that staying healthy and eating right is important. If you don't take care of yourself, it can be really hard to get back in shape later on. So, it's like a reminder to eat your veggies and stay active.
I really liked how Nick Bruel, the author, made this book so funny and silly. If you like sports and laughing at crazy cat antics, "Bad Kitty Joins the Team" is the book for you. It's all about trying new things and getting healthy, even if you're a cat who'd rather take a nap!
This book is amazing, and I can't wait for you to see my full review on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/Nr_AUbNjE_4
this book was actcully not bad at all . it was really funny and super duper cool . my faverite part was when the hamsters were falling the stuff they were saying was wee Geronimo and cowabunga and I found that so funny for some weird reason .i also laughed over when only one hamster was flying and said yeehaw and all the food kitty was eating got her head stuck in the bowl . also got right in her face and another funny part was when uncle Mery said holy salami and a random cat or dog said ahh those three parts were so funny to me . one was so funny that I took a picture to keep it forever since I got it at the library and I will never see it again . because I need to get rid of it soon beacause for others to read the book and laugh because of it .
Read with my daughter, who chose it herself from the library. She is not a sports fan, but she liked that they included gymnastics as part of the book. There were definitely a few funny parts of the book, but overall it was not my favourite Bad Kitty story.
This one is more of a graphic novel format. Strange Kitty and Mouse stage a series of athletic events between cats and rodents. Meanwhile Kitty is out of shape and needs to eat better and exercise. We get an education on the definition of a rodent. At no point does anyone join a team.
This was pretty funny but I don’t really get the title. What team did Kitty join? There wasn’t really a team in this that Kitty joined. She kinda did her own thing while Strange Kitty and Mouse had their own teams. I did learn that porcupines are rodents.
This was a good one (minus some terrible dietary advice: you need to eat healthy fats! And grains aren't nearly as important as fruits and vegetables, man...) But anyway, Kitty is trying to exercise and Strange Kitty and Mouse are having an Olympic competition. Uncle Murray is funny as always.
