I was very excited to receive this book as I don’t want to feel like there is a food group that I am not able to eat for fear that it will sabotage my best intentions overall. Although I will continue to try different recipes from this book, I have found that the few I have tried, failed to produce the end result intended and certainly pictured. I even asked a professional baker to make them for me as I am not typically a baker. Their results were the same as mine. They said there were many details left out of the instructions setting inexperienced bakers up for disappointment. The recipes I tried also gave incorrect instructions for combining ingredients and didn’t indicate when certain things like butter should be softened or melted. In any case, the chocolate cupcakes didn’t rise at all and actually sunk to more of a pancake, the hamburger bun also didn’t rise and was flat. The Oopsie flatbread was soft in spite of all efforts to adjust. They tasted great but there is something lacking in the knowledge behind the recipes or absent in the relating of how to do them.
I received this book "free", paying only the shipping & handling fees. But even that was difficult; I had to refuse multiple times to get more books for less and less cost. Even the small amount I paid was not worth it, although, to be fair, I have not actually tried any of these recipes yet. I've looked through many of the recipes and they are poorly written. The ingredients lists are not in order of use, some ingredients ("Swerve") are never defined (yes, I'm sure I can Google it, but . . .), and there are steps missing. I may try one or two of these but I am not hopeful that they will be successful. I have an extensive collection of Paleo desserts and will stick with them.
I was really excited to get this book. But when I started reading through the recipes I noticed that some of the ingredients didn't match the directions. Ingredients have been swapped. Don't know how much of an ingredient it's supposed to have cause it's not listed, something else is listed. Words are even spelled wrong. I'm very disappointed. I'm afraid to try them which sucks cause they all sound delicious. There was no proofreading at all in this book.
A wonderful cookbook full of dessert recipes for those who want to lose weight or need to avoid processed sugars and/or gluten. Elisa Silva wants people on ketogenic/low carb diets to stay on their diet by instructing them how to make delicious desserts they thought they would never be able to eat again.
I’ve tried a few recipes and they’ve been a few of the better keto dessert recipes I’ve tried. Unfortunately, none of them have been as good as the real thing. I’ve got all of the keto friendly ingredients stocked in my pantry for when those sweet.cravings hit. I’m anxious to try a few more of Elisa’s recipes.
