A guide to successfully getting the life you want by changing your perspective and discovering your ideal self. More often than not, our own mental obstacles are holding us back from the joy, fulfillment, and meaning that we all crave, but by retooling our perspectives, we gain the ability to see the path toward the life we truly desire. Charlie Harary, business executive, professor, speaker, and radio host, combines the wisdom of science, spirituality, and personal growth in practical and understandable terms so you can take the life you have and make it the life you want. Everyone has the extraordinary capacity to transform their life. And it’s easier to do than you might think—in order to get what you want, to achieve that sense of greater life satisfaction, all you need to do is learn how to best use the resources you already have. Based on the latest research into the brain’s neuroplasticity, analysis of ancient wisdom, and exploration of the practices of today’s greatest achievers, he offers guidance and inspiration so you can break through the clutter and confusion of your life and find your true purpose.
This is a great telling of the research and examples of how neuroplastisity works. Being able to change your thoughts to get what you want out of life and to BE a better person. I like the way the author frames the stories, and research. Although the subject may seem boring this book lays it out very well.
Filled with great anecdotes, Charlie Harary does a nice job in showcasing what you might already know with interesting stories. It makes this book both engaging and easy to read, especially as it practically ties together neuroscience, the psychology of change, and spiritual development. Recommended reading!
This book has a lot of great information that extracts the key findings from a lot of important research studies. There are some powerful stories mixed in as well. It is written in an uplifting tone and it was a good refresher of many important concepts that will help you be on the path to becoming your ideal self.
Even though there was nothing new in here for me, reading it did help me build stronger neurological pathways to vitality important information, and he does a great job of explaining the neuroscience of this in an easy to understand way. I would definitely recommend.
This book resonated with me. I could say some critical things and pondered a 4 start, but I think there are some "golden levers" in here that could be overlooked or be lost in the sea of advice within self help books. This is great foundational reading to really improve life for yourself and others.
This feels like a business card book. Basic tips, but nothing you haven't heard before. The author actually uses that as one of his persuasive arguments on page 236.
If you are new in your career and to self-help books then this might be of value.
Did i finish this? No. I hated the voice throughout it. It was so repetitive and I finally gave up. It also seemed kinda religious but mostly just kinda surface level. Some of it was interesting but I finally just agreed to give up.
