Tess thinks I’m an assh*le. A liar. That I can’t be trusted. She’s right. I’m all of those things and more. Worse. I can’t be trusted. I am a liar. I am an assh*le. What she doesn’t get is that it’s her. She’s the reason. She brings out the best and the worst in me. Makes me who I am. I don’t deserve Tess. I know that. But I want her. Love her. And everything she knows about me, everything she’s made me, makes me the guy who will stop at nothing to tame her.

USA Today best-selling author Megyn Ward lives on coffee, chocolate and more than the occasional glass of red wine. When she's not spending time with the hot, dirty-talking Alphas and the strong, capable women who love them who live in her head, she's busy chasing chickens (and kids), hanging laundry and burning dinner. Either way, she is almost always in the company of her eight dogs, her truest and most faithful companions, and her almost as faithful husband, Joe. Megyn is also the author of the award-winning Sabrina Vaughn thriller series, written under the name Maegan Beaumont.
4,5. My heart is full of love! Am I dramatic? Yeahhh. I was happy because I read a book that has a good story to kept away! This story need to look at! It’s worth the reading.
I have been rooting for these two for the whole freakinf series. I love these two. I love that Declan's moral compass only works for Tess, and I love Tess' background story.
All the Gilroy Clan books have been amazing and this one was too..... Up until the end. Two books with of Declan and Tess and then it just ends. It was a letdown to say the least. Wonderful story, horrible ending. It's like the author had to finish it quickly so she just threw a lame ending on it. So disappointed.
Just another one of the Gilroy men winning their woman. Declan is perhaps the most unhinged out of all of them so far lol Tess’s character was different in this book than we see in the previous books. I found myself liking her character less. Oh well.
Only complaint for this one in particular, for the majority of the book it kept jumping back and forth in time and unlike the previous book(s), but it didn’t tell you what year you were in at the beginning of the chapter. not sure why.
Let me get this straight. I spent my time on 2 books that do nothing but jump around real issues and no one can say anything real just deflect . Then you give me like a page and a half of them talking and it ends . Your not making a 3rd book so that’s that . Ryan’s story is next . She didn’t even say I love you back . No epilogue nothing . I can’t understand all the 5 stars inless there all ARC . I never read reviews from ARCs because most just copy and past the blurb and put a gif or picture up . Sorry for ranting . If I’m paying for a book I want a HEA . This was more like fixing a fight not fixing a relationship.
I was really enjoying the second part of Declan and Tess's story but the ending too well it just stopped it was almost like there was a chapter or two missing or the author could not figure out where to take it it really ruined it for me
I wanted to enjoy this book so much more than I did. The premise was brilliant, the build up was great to but the execution for me just fell a little flat and the biggest thing I didn’t quite understands was how Jessica fitted into the plot.
We are told he considered dating her and she basically started squatting in his apartment but I feel like we needed more explanation about why and when and also what their relationship was like! We are told he never loved her but he was with her for 3 years so how did they behave in that 3 years! Was it all superficial and got show and how exactly did he suffer!? All we see in the books is how she makes everyone else suffer, especially Tess!? I’d have liked to see some flashbacks of his interactions with Jessica. Did they act like a couple or did they basically live separate lives but outwardly live like a couple!? I feel Declan should have explained his relationship with Jessica to Tess and I do feel Tess should / would have had more questions about why he would pick her!
My other gripe was if he hated Jessica then why the marriage proposal!? Why not just have them as a couple! Did he propose or did it just happen like her moving in! I feel the Jessica plot should have been much better utilised and explained! That spoiled the story for me a bit!

I have just finished reading this book and I am flabbergasted. WTF just happened?. There’s a quick sorry from both Tess And Declan and then an abrupt “The End” I found the book quite hard going with the sadness of their past and I definitely needed a HEA. As far as I am concerned their story hardly evolved further than their previous book. I feel cheated. Come on Megyn give us a long HEA epilogue. I wish I’d read the one and only review which pretty much encapsulates what I have written. Then I would not have read it and waited to see if anything more was written about this heartbreaking story. ☹️ (less)
I read this book back in 2019 left the above review which consequently disappeared, book back to “to read” no review. Now January 2022 and I have read some of the reviews and realised I had read it and there was my review. It appears that the book was re edited 27 Sep 2021 which I was unaware of. I’ll have to re read it again in the future (I hope it’s worth it) to see if there is a good epilogue. I will update this review once I have read it again.
This book was everything I hoped it would be and so much more!!! Declan was made to out to be the bad guy in every single situation the guy who was out to make everyone miserable and only cared about himself.......well that could not be further from the truth if it tried!!!
Declan put his life on the line to protect his family and friends and especially Tesla but no one knew till 12 years later and a who lot of heartache.
Tesla thought she knew everything but when things start to unravel she can't keep denying what she has always know she never stopped loving Declan they are totally meant to be.
This story totally kepts you hooked from the very 1st page well actually their story had me hooked from book 1 in the Gilroy Clan.
Can't wait to see what happens with Ryan because that wee soul deserves some good in his life and I really think Grace could be that.
100% recommend Megyn Ward the Gilroy clan. The writing in this series is seriously unbelievable.
I definitely like Tesla and Declan’s story the best so far! Chemistry is still off the charts. I feel like there was a legitimate reason he left her. Whereas the other stories, I felt like they were just too young and dumb and could have solved a lot of their problems just by talking to each other. I think the author could have left everything Jessica related out of the story though, that part was pointless to me. He could have just chosen to be alone and miserable forever rather than marry the chick that made all the women in their lives miserable and bypassed all the cheating 🤷🏼♀️ also, I would have liked a little more closure on the miscarriage part. I know they talked about it but I guess I just expected more out of that. There was quite a few grammatical errors, wrong words, etc. still a decent book with lots of angst and steamy scenes, if that’s your thing.
In order to appreciate the greatness of this book, you need to take the journey of books 1-5. I feel like my emotions had gone on a roller coaster and I was extremely happy with the way things came to an end. These characters have been through so much and I was glad so many secrets came to light and the family came out stronger than before. This series is full of angst, fierce emotions and well written. I recommend this for those who like NA contemporary romances and don't mind strong language and adult situations. This is NOT a sweet romance but one built of tough lives and tough love. Personally, I don't normally care for characters who show so much hatred for loved ones. I don't believe in treating your loved ones in such a way, but I was glad to see most behaviors were from misunderstandings that got cleared up. I'm definitely a fan of HEA and this book delivered.
The book itself was really good reading and listening to the audible at the same time just made the book better because you were able to feel what the characters were feeling at the time. The only downfall was that when you get to chapter 34 to the rest of the book the chapters didn't match what the audible had. In Chapter 34 a couple of the paragraphs stopped and didn't match what the narrators were reading and then the paragraphs and narrator matched. Chapters 34-51 are completely numbered differently in the audible. In the audible there was an extra chapter , chapter 52 with Declan going to Went's shop, but the book version there's only 51 chapters plus the epilogue. So I don't know if the narrators got an unedited version before this book was published or what.

What the ever loving hell just happened?! That’s it that’s all there is. Omg how could you end it this way! It’s deceivingly perfect but come on. It’s about time that these 2 pull their heads outta their butts. I know that they get their happily ever after but a little more detail would’ve been great but believe me I’ll take it. Declan has always just seemed so damaged but his love for Tess was always the one thing he could never deny. As far as Tess goes she has loved him dearly for far too long without being able to have him. Totally recommend this ENTIRE series. Well worth the wait and read.
I have been patiently waiting for the ending of Declan and Tess. Woman dear sweet Megyn. I am left hanging. I absolutely love these two together .Tess is strong and feisty. She is dealing with everything that has happened in her life. But the one thing she can't deal with is her feelings for Dec. Declan is dealing with the mess that he has made to keep Tess safe. But what is all of this going to cost them? Will they end up happy? Rollercoaster of a ride. That is one reason I love Megyn's books. There are intense full of emotions and take you on a ride you won't forget. I need more from all of these characters. Highly recommend. A Must read.
I loved this book. Gave me closure for Tess and Declan. SPOILER: And I happened to be right about my hypothesis over why Declan broker her heart. I’m sure most people probably figured it out. He would always put her above all else even himself despite his reputation to the contrary. I loved the growth and repairs the relationships between Connor and Declan go through. They are all one big family and learn to lean and depend on each other. Side note: Jessica deserved what she got and more. But I’m slightly vindictive and spiteful. Haha
I’m not sure of what to make of this. I do love Tess and Declan but flipping through their past and present situation was a bit too much for me. I had hoped that the previous read would have ended that but it continued throughout both of their books. Telling the past is one thing but stretching it is another. Also the end does not feel right. I would have like to see a ‘what happened next’ as was done with the other stories in the series. However this does not deterred me from continuing with the series as I love the characters.
I guess I should have expected she would end up pregnant. *eye roll* I mean they got their happy ending. So it was not the worst. I did like the story and how we got there. I think I would have liked to know more of the “terrible” things that happen to Declan, but I’m satisfied with this story. I can see why this story can continue with other characters, but I don’t care about them as much as I liked the Gilroy boys. So I’m done, maybe if I get bored later I might pick up the rest of it.
Taming Tesla is the 2nd book in a 2 part series. The first book was Destroying Declan. You need to read that before reading this book. Both books are part of The Gilroy Clan series about two brothers and cousin who live and love in the city of Boston.
This book is gritty, raw and sexual. Tesla and Declan are two flawed individuals who just want to be loved and included.
OMG omg!! She constantly blows me away!! This book, was no different. This couple was everything I could of asked for and more. I dont think I have ever love a characters more! The way they break your heart and put it back together is something only an amazingly skilled author could accomplish and she did without question! Definitely highly recommend this boom!
So finally Tess and Declan get there HEA. I did like this one a bit more than the previous one. I really like that Declan got some relationships fixed. The bed scenes are great as ever. And I will read Ryan’s story.
What really really drove me crazy this time was the typos. English isn’t my mother tongue and therefore am I not in any position to rant about correct wording BUT it’s pretty hard when it says don’t even though it’s meant to be does.... the sentences completely changes.
Great to find out more about Tesla's home life & history. Also the suspicion I had as to why Declan behaves the way he does has been validated. The Gilroy men all have a stubborn gene which manifests differently in each of them. They also all have a very protective mentality & love hard. I'd love to read about their parent's life & relationships with both Tess & Henley/Ryan's parents. Even the poor editing can't ruin this story, just causes heavy exasperation.
100% 5s stars! I am so very happy with the way that the two's story ended and developed. Dec is such a mean person to everyone, the only person to calm his mean is Tess. So when he can't have her he gets worse. Tess has gone through so much, I just wanted to see her have her happiness and stop being so strong. We really needed her back story. She has been the heart of all the stories! Will she find her happy?
This was such a good read. So much anguish though. My heart hurt for Tess and Declan. Tess for losing her mother and her father- even though her father was still alive, falling so deeply in love and then losing him. And for Declan- for never being seen. For always being an outsider. For not believing him himself. Finally, finally they are together. Can’t wait to tackle the last two books
This is another toxic relationship with no communication. I did like the story better and the back story of all the characters. The time correlation s were better in these stories. So much decite, drama, jealousy, hatred but not enough violence for me. I wish Jessica was stripped of the money, apartment, car and of course the engagement ring. Blackmail was a veiled threat but I was happy Conner helped him
I love the conclusion to Declan Andy Tess’s story BUT, I felt like it was rushed and left out so much, Declan’s relationship with his parents being one. The emotions in this book were so high and then It just ended and left me saying “what the hell!” Declan and Tess deserve a book 3. With all that being said I still loved it and would recommend.
Again seen from Declans & Teslas perception. Still not sure why not just make it into 1longer book rather than 2different books talking about the one story of their life and how they finally got there in the end. Love catching up with the other characters lives and reading about how they move on in their own futures
