Just when Princess Teagan and her husbands had decided to have no more secrets, lies, or prevarications between them, the Galaxic Government has other ideas, and it leaves some of them on opposite sides.
After being brought to the cusp of interstellar war, the Parvac Empire participates in a deadly race to uncover the source of technology far too advanced to have been created within the known galaxies. The discovery would put a government or criminal faction at a major militaristic advantage, and there are those who will kill whoever gets in the way along with anyone who might serve as a witness.
Ordered to discover the source of the alien technology, Ensign Probus and her team put the skills which they’ve learned at the Inquisitors Academy to use. Their search takes them from the Laconian Sector and across Galaxic space. However, they aren’t alone in their mission. It seems as though a subtle consciousness draws them forward, but is it an alien consciousness or the work of the Mad Ones?
Teagan’s husbands decide to facilitate her sense of power and personal self-worth by teaching her what they know and treating their beloved Imperial Princess like as much of an equal as they can, but not everyone has the same purpose. Captain Espanoza, Teagan’s former hero, does everything she can to undermine her newfound confidence and her efforts. However, if being the only daughter of the Emperor of the Parvac Empire has taught her anything, it’s how to stand up for herself. With innocent lives hanging in the balance, Teagan will put her considerable new knowledge to the test, and she won’t let anyone get in her way, not even one of the men she loves.
A galaxy wide race between the three superpowers, Galaxic Empire, Parvac Section and Laconian to find the origins of the probe's advance technology. Teagan is invited on as Ensign Probus, a reinstated Inquisitor student to the mission.
What I Thought This book was better at detailing character background, specifically their relationships to other characters. A lot less confusion. A lot less spine numbing details about the monotony of Teagan's daily life.
In the previous book, Teagan's pregnancy seemed to immobilize her, but here she's conducting scavenger missions and field investigative work and participating in space battleship fights without fainting randomly and being constantly hungry while she's preggo. She is a lot more assertive and doesn't cry half as much this time around.
Again the adventure is buried in inane details.
Interestingly enough, Teagan is forced to deal with Captain Espanzo, a Galaxic military officer who doesn't pander to or falls in deep lust at sight with Teagan. She is the only female officer held with respect really introduced in the book that isn't somehow related to Teagan. Every other women is either married to a family member or related to Teagan through marriage. This means most of the women (besides Espanzo) are either pregnant, the rich wife of someone, and entirely catered to while Espanzo isn't. Interesting fights.
I gotta thank Wendie for such an amazing addition to The Space Merchants series!! I'm in love with this series however I think this book just might be my favorite yet. I had moments where I laughed so hard I cried and others when I was so mad at certain characters on behalf of Teagan I just wanted to scream at them myself. Out of all the books this one gave me some serious feelings. Between Teagin growing more confident in herself (showing everyone her inner strength) and her babies growing (Little Nik so serious like his daddy but bonding like his mommy) I can't help but feel excited to find out what happens in the next adventure.
I really enjoyed seeing how Teagan is finally coming into her own in this book. In this book, Teagan shows great emotional growth as well as some relationship growth with some of her Inquisitor husbands.
I think the pacing and plot in this book were handled well. I am looking forward to more stories of Teagan and her family. The glimpses we have of how Neema and Niklos are going to be as adults are fascinating. Plus, one of Teagan's ladies gets a 2nd husband. Good thing those ships are built so large!
Teagan has come so far from the mousy little girl in Space Merchants. She's becoming a force to be reckoned with with since becoming a wife, mother, fighter pilot, holding the mental stability of 17 mercenaries and now an ensign Inquisitor. But just because she's adding to her skills doesn't mean her life is any less dangerous. There are still those trying to undermine the peace being built by the empire and Galaxic/Earth delegations. The probes were only the beginning. With the new technology being used against both universes the Galaxic Militia and the empire both are scrambling to get to the root of it first. Because, to the victor goes the spoils, and that's some impressive technology. What they discover while tracking tech is even more impressive, though, and more dangerous than weaponry that can vaporise an entire ship with barely a single DNA trace.
Spoilers ahead! I love this series. Each book just builds and builds. It took time to get into the rhythm of the first book. But once you get the "speech" cadence down, it takes off. Teagan is no longer a broken wallflower. She's still a little flighty, a lot crass, and an amazing survivor. Her growth has been phenomenal to witness. The little daily escapades and vignettes are the perfect background to the interesting plot lines. There's always something more than just the main story going on and her and Espanoza and Rovek made this book. Those little "battles" being fought back and forth were hilarious. And the fact that not only has Wendie made you fall in love with the main character and her husbands, but features her children, her friends, their mates and kids, pets and a complicated plot line with multiple sub-plots, while keeping the story flowing? It's just epic. After 8 books the story is still flowing with no signs of slowing down.
I just found these books and had a vacation from everything else except reading since then. The author took me on a satisfying journey which kept me up late with bleary eyes because I hated to stop reading to sleep. Each book got better and bigger. Each new character has brought something new and wonderful to the growing family i fell in love with. I am now disappointed i have to wait months for the next book. I would recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys science fiction or romance.
Another great addition to Teagan’s story. I love the characters and the interaction, as equally focused on their interactions with one another as I am on the story being told.
I’m greatly looking forward to the next book in the series, and hoping many more are planned.
as with the previous books, I recommend this series for anyone looking for a Reverse Harem Sci-fi romance.
Yay! So we meet Teagan again on a new adventure filled with babies, adventures, and laughter. I'm actually really sad about this book because it seemed to be over so quick and I wasnt ready for it to end. I'm excited to meet the twins, see how many more husbands she collects, and continue to watch Teagan spread her wings. This is one of my top 5 favorite series.
I must say that Wendie Nordgren is one of my favorite authors. So many ups and downs and back up for Teagan in this book. Chapter 32 will now be my favorite chapter ever from all chapters of every book ive read. Freacking hilarious. I highly recommend this book
Once again Teagan has taken my heart! The journey from the first word of chapter one to the last punctuation mark has been thrilling, heart wrenching, and delightful. The emotions ranging from the depths of sorrow to the heights of levity. And now I am eagerly awaiting the next book. Thanks you Wendie Nordgren!!!
I love that this book brought Teagan back to Earth. It gives her a chance to look at how far she has come and how much she has changed and grown. Plus, I also admire Teagan’s generosity and the way she helps people but still manages to kick ass when she needs to, whether it’s enemies, superiors or husbands. Great job, Wendie!
Another awesome installment in the Space Merchant series! It’s nice to see Teagan becoming more confident in herself. I loved the storyline in this one. Although these stories are a nice long length, I read them straight through way too quickly. They are just that good. I can’t wait to buy the next book, please keep up the great work!!
I can't get enough of Teagan's adventures! The mishaps, the danger, and the craziness is so much fun to read! I really hope that she finally gets some adventures with Quaid in the future! Him and Zared definitely need to be her next set of twins!! Or better yet, throw Yukihyo in there and give her triplets! All boys for those Laconian lovers ❤️❤️❤️
Yet another awesome addition to a wonderful series
This book was fun and creative, I loved the extra surprises we got this time around. The men as always were entertaining and Teagan continues to grow and impress me. Can't wait for the next installment
I love Teagan and her adventures. As always I’m left wanting to read more. For anyone thinking of reading this series, you go ahead and BUY EVERY BOOK. So worth it !!!
I just can’t get enough of Teagan and her family. It does feel like she’s been pregnant forever, but it feels that way in reality too. RH, men picked up gradually. Read it and thank me later!
If I could pick a favorite from this series this would probably be it, but they are all so good. Already can’t wait for the next one. Re read to commence in 3...2...1
Wendie Nordgren is a wonderful world builder and storyteller! I have read each book in this series multiple times. I can't wait until the next is out!!!
Any book by Wendie is an automatic purchase for me and this didn't disappoint. This is a fantastic continuation to Tegans story. It's full of action and adventure with enough romantic moments as her relationships with her husband's continue. Loved it and can't wait for the next book
I love Teagan continues to grow as a person to find what she wants to do with her life. She wants to do more than just shop and have children. She loves her children but she works hard to make a place for her children to become anything they want to be. She pushes boundaries and continues to do what she thinks is right.
