Rollicking good time

Old pirate lore, possible sunken treasure, underwater archaeologists and people getting murdered. Just a typical day in Shadows Landing. Throw in the Keeneston family visiting for a family wedding and getting involved in the framing of Ann innocent woman and you have the start to one EXCITING, suspense filled, pirate ridden story for the ages. Shadows Landing gives Keeneston a run for their money with interesting characters LOL. As usual in NEVER disappointed by reading a Kathleen Brooks book!!! Can't wait for the next one 😊😊😊😊

Loved it..I need to find me a sunken treasurer

Darcy is finally seeing her life’s work come to fruition..if only she can get these pesky murder charges dealt with and find out who’s trying to kill her. Wade has saved many a damsel in distress, but when he saves Darcy, sure he hopes she’s not a murderer, but he may work around it if she is. Watching Darcy search for her sunken treasure and fall in love with his town and family makes Wade wish she’d fall in love with him too.

Loved the story..but was wrapped up in the buried treasure adventure. We got to see Edie a little more..maybe she’s coming through her grief..and as always we got a glimpse of out Keeneston friends, but this story was all about the history of the town, the sense of family with the townsfolk, and watching Darcy and Wade come together. Two favorite parts had to do with “death cooties”, “praying that the couple can keep the lust down”, and Darcy answering what she “thought” was a phone..so funny.

My only issues are..I don’t recall information regarding Darcy’s family..she was from Key West, but that’s it..whatever happened with Harper and jewel, who killed whom..we know Cash and Hugo are behind it, but is there more to the story- who killed Leon and then Jules and was it because they were following Darcy?

The books is still action packed and awesome even with the holes..another great Kathleen saga.

GREAT STORY!!!!!! 👍

As usual with a Kathleen Brooks this story was perfect!!!! I always love how in her books you have to be prepared
for the unusual happening and the absolutely adorable friends and family that you get to enjoy in all her books! From the first couple of pages on I smiled and sighed with contentment because I could tell it was going to be a humdinger of a book with numerous twists and turns, drama, suspense and characters I would love!!! Which is exactly how the story turned out!!! It was a great to read. Very exciting and satisfying... with no lagging moments.
The romance between Wade and Darcy was sexy, sweet and delightful without pages and pages of angst! I love how they started out right from the beginning in sync with each other it made for such an enjoyable story!! This was a really well done Romantic Suspense and I can't wait for the next in the series! I am looking forward to reading more about the tight-knit group of family and friends and their next antics!!! I highly recommend this book... It is a real winner!!!!

Sunken Shadows is the second book in the Shadows Landing series by Kathleen Brooks. Shadows Landing Series combines small-town charm, suspense, and a dash of romance.
This is a contemporary romance series with a small-town setting, some romantic suspense elements, a little drama, intrigue, tension, mystery, humour, and adventure.
After reading Ms. Brooks ‘Bluegrass’ series, and not being as ‘blown away’ by them as I had expected and hoped, I wasn’t sure if I would take the plunge into this series or not. But as they were sitting on my TBR already, and also wanting to clear my TBR list, I decide to just dive in and get them done. I have to admit that, thankfully, I did ‘enjoy’ this series a bit more than the Bluegrass books.

Sunken Shadows

This is the second book in this amazing Shadows Landing series with Wade meeting and falling in love with Darcy that has been a professional treasurer Hunter for years and he helps her in her quest for Black Law's sunken treasure. She was searching for Black Law's pirate ship that had sunk near Shadow Landing and the town people helped her unravel the puzzle that leads to its location. This was a suspenseful romance as Darcy and Wade fall in love and the whole town comes out to protect her and help solve the mystery of who is killing everyone to steal the sunken treasure and try to arrest them. It was interesting to learn what you have to go through to file a claim to this sunken ship and it's contents. This was so romantic as Darcy and Wade get their happily ever after and the Faulkner family could not be more happy. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

Pirates, treasure, and lots of heat

Wade called to a rescue during a family wedding steals his cousin's boat and rushing in to save the day, only what he found wasnt what he was expecting.

Darcy an archaeologist, and treasure hunter of lost stories. She has been working since was 16 years old to solve the long mystery of a sinking pirates ship, bit what she wasnt expecting was wade swooping in to bring her to the surface and being accused of murder.
Wade trusts his instincts and calls upon his family to help protect Darcy. Darcy has never trusted anyone in her life with this untill now, with his family's help and the town of shadows landing they embark on a mystery of a life time. To solve the missing treasure and to save her life. Will they get the answers they need and want or will it coast them their lifes.

Wade: A sexy rescue swimmer from the coast guard meets the amazing and talented treasure hunter Darcy underwater.... She pulls a knife on him and then a few months later they are married, only after finding the amazing treasure together!! This book, all these books could be a hallmark or netfix series and it would break the internet. The drama, the character relief laugh lines... All of it.
I love that Bubba has a spot in every single book! What book shouldn't have pirate tales and a croc named Bubba...
I loved how fast this book went. I flew through the pages. It was a really hard book to put down. I actually stayed up way too late trying to finish this one. I didn't even regret it in the morning! Well maybe just a little... but it was worth it.
Darcy: she is strong and fearless. I kinda have a thing for strong female leading characters. I readlly do. Maybe thats what I wish I was... LOL

I’m very annoyed that the author keeps bringing up that Wade is in the Coast Guard, because that’s all she keeps saying. That he’s in it. No using his skills from it, no getting the CG involved. Other characters just say things along the lines of, “Wade said he had a Coast Guard emergency.” And, “Oh, yeah. Wade is in the Coast Guard.” It very much feels like she did all this research on how to go about salvage laws and staking claims on boat wrecks and stuff, and zero on the Coast Guard…and is just using the Coast Guard angle to try to be unique.

There was no real tension between these two falling in love, sex scenes were very awkward. Don’t even get me started on Mr. Happy.

But hey, kudos for having written it.

🏴‍☠️🛶I was reluctant to start this book cause by the blurb I could see that there'll be hard headed h who's ready to die for a hidden treasure (her dream/passion I get it). I'll never be on board with that. Of course I admire a hardworker who'll stop at nothing to gain their dream but not when lives are at stake. I'm never the one who'll call someone brave just because they put themselves in danger when there are no actual loss at stake. But I wants to read it cause it's the first book of "shadows landing" series. All in all I don't think I'll work very hard to not dnf like other books.

This is book 2 in Kathleen's spin off series. In this book we have Wade & Darcy. Wade is in the USCG and meets Darcy when Wade is called to the scene of a boat fire and possible rescue. Their story and adventure starts there! There was something immediately with the two of them. Their chemistry from the beginning was off the charts. Although at first Wade thought she was possibly a murderer and a little eccentric. He came to discover although slightly eccentric she was not a murderer and was actually in danger because of her research. This book had love, humor, and intrigue in typical Brooks writing.

Wade and Darcy met in a very unconventional way. Wade a rescue swimmer for the Coast Guard and Darcy a treasure hunter. Wade was at his cousin wedding, when he is called away to respond to an emergency. When he arrived at the emergency he find a man floating dad in the water. There is another boat attached. Once he finds Darcy owner of boat, he thinks she may have killed the guy. Well, he was relieved to see she didn’t kill him. But somehow he became her protector, her love, her everything. But....someone was killing people around her because they were trying to find the treasure she believed existed. Great story, exciting thriller and happy ending. Just a great town of people.

Darcy Delmar is a treasurer hunter who as researched a treasure for 10 years and is finally close to finding it. Wade Faulkner works for the Coast Guard. He is called to a ship where he finds a dead man and a diver in the water. He dives into the water to bring the fighting diver up. The diver is Darcy, she knows the dead man, a fellow treasurer hunter, but she doesn't know why he is on her boat. She is arrested, but there is a spark between Darcy and Wade so he calls his cousin to get a lawyer. As the treasure hunters come to town to try to find the treasure before Darcy, she fights with Wade's help to prove she is not the killer.

I listened to the audiobook. Eric G. Dove did a fantastic job. I never wondered which character was speaking.

This book was so much fun. I enjoyed the family and friends of Shadows Landing. There were a number of humorous moments. I liked Wade and Darcy. Even when Darcy didn't want to, she couldn't help but succumb to the good natured residents of the town. I do love the way they stick together and support one another.

Wade and Darcy's story was also full of action, adventure, suspense, and danger. It was enjoyable from start to finish.

I figured with a Pirate town and water as a back drop it wouldn't be too long until a treasure hunt showed up in this series. I was not disappointed. I also love history and this story has that very thing. The Rev and ladies sure are an interesting addition to the story and the town. Makes me wish I lived in Shadows Landing. Kathleen Brooks has created a wild but believable community of characters that readers can't help but become a part of. What better partner for Wade a Coast Guard hero than Darcy a treasure hunter.

‘Sunken Shadows’ was suspenseful. Its plot was filled with danger at every turn: an accosted treasure hunter diver, getting arrested for murder, being cleared, meeting and making a good friend of the coastguard, diving again for an insightful find, nearly being killed with dynamite explosions during the find, meeting the family and reverend, meeting Mr. Happy on a wake-up call, making a plan to catch the murderer, oh no…a knife attack, and another, and oh happy day!
OMG! I loved the fascinating storyline with the thrills, action, and romance.

4.5*s Great narration by Eric Dove.
Wade Faulkner coast guard swimmer goes to an emergency call out and finds a dead man. Only other person is a woman diver in her own boat that says she was alone when she went in the water. She is taken by police as prime suspect. Wade calls in a favor and gets her a lawyer Olivia the badass who is regular in this series.
Great tale with pirates, sunken treasure, murder and a town full of wacky characters (including an alligator). I think this is one of the better books in this series. Main couple were both smart, mature and the romance was solid.

Another great one from Kathleen Brooks! Couldn’t put the book down. Another town to fall in love with. Love that the Keeneston brood is in the book and I can’t wait to see if the betting app will make its way to Shadows Landing. Overall Darcy is a badass underwater archeologist and Wade is a big old teddy bear inside thou killer moves underwater, that’s such a badass. Don’t think any of the Keeneston’s side had a cool underwater fight scene.

Oceans of Love

Sunken Shadows Darcy & Wades story had it all Suspense, Mystery, Action, Tears, Laughter & romance I could not put down the book until I finished. Kathleen I have read all the Keenesteen Bluegrass books and the Shadows landing books I normally don't leave reviews because I am not very good at writing such but I had to leave one for this book I loved it. This book covers everything a book .lovers dream for everyone. A sure hit that deserves a review.

Back in Shadows Landing

Brooks takes us back to Shadows Landing for the 2nd book in her spin off series centered on the Faulkner cousins in South Carolina. Wade and Darcy are searching for treasure and trying to stay alive as they are also being hunted for what they know. I loved revisiting the band of characters the author created in this lovely town outside Charleston. Humor, romance, suspense go hand in hand again. Highly recommend.

Amazing

Author Kathleen Brooks writes medicine for my soul. Her stories are more than an adventure. It's an emotional ride of love, laughs and family unity that makes you feel happy. I was laughing and smiling. I was hooked couldn't put it down. This story makes you wish that the characters and town were real. You will definitely fall in love with Shadow Landing. I highly recommend this wonderful story.

Exciting, scary, funny and romantic love story

This book has it all. There are pirates and sabotage. Darcy Delmar is a treasure hunter looking for sunken pirate treasure. There are attempts to stop her. Luckily she meets Wade Faulkner and the people of Shadows Landing. The try to help in their own way. The results are both funny and scary. The last part of the book had my heart pounding with fright.

The second book of the Shadows Landing series finds sone of the beloved charcters first introduced in the Bluegrass series, but they are joined by the even more colorful characters in Shadows Landing. Okay, this was definitely one of my top favorite books by Kathleen! I feel like she just keeps getting better and better. I love this little town of Shawdows Landing. The people there are seriously amazing!

This story line makes me wish this little town and people were real. I want to go treasure hunting with them, and I want to take a tour of the church. If you haven't taken the time to read this series, I highly recommend it!

In Sunken Shadows, Wade gets a call for a boat fire. He is the first of his Coast Guard to arrive and he finds one dead man. There is a diver in the water and when he pulls her out suspects her of the murder immediately.
Realizing she didn’t do it and that she is only interested in what she believes is a sunken pirate ship he sets out to find who is killing treasure hunters and to keep Darcy safe.
A love at first sight story with the suspenseful twists.
