Well, Isn’t Ms Brooks full of surprises!
(For those who follow the Forever Bluegrass series, you’ll love this surprising connection.)Here in the middle of Moonshine Hollow, Ms Brooks blends yet again two of her series together. This time it is Dr Ava (or at least her name) which makes a guest appearance, with reference to a certain plane crash which made the whole Keeneston jump in their cars.
I am so glad I don’t have to choose between team Luke and team Slade..phew!
But that is all I can say to avoid spoilers.
I have a feeling things are going to get really bad before it gets better and can only hope that withholding information is not the same as betrayal...
Well despite the occasional editing errors, I’m off to read #3

From the Moonshine Hollow Box Set

Zoey Mathers did not miss being a lawyer. She actually loved being a baker and small business owner in the small town of Moonshine Hollow. She was also learning to use her new witch powers, and yeah, that bouncer she met what seemed like a lifetime ago, well, he tracked her down and was in town. Not only that, but he wanted to take her out to dinner. The only thing is he has the same tattoo as the hunter who was killed. And it was his powers that turned Zoey into an accidental witch. Now she had to wonder if this guy Slade was her to kill her or date her.

The physical world-building leaves a lot to be desired, but there is enough to give you a hazy picture. The ethereal world-building is mostly personal. The character’s interaction feels real. The character’s history is summarized as part of the story.

This retelling is close to a Cozy story, but I don’t see it labeled on the cover. It does have a bit of romance. It is about witches, both male and female, so it does contain paranormal happenings, and it obviously has at least one mystery to be solved by the women sleuths. I give this close-to cozy but no cigar five stars out of five stars.

Magical

As with any series built from scratch, it takes time to develop the connection of reader to the story. Usually, the first book of the series is the hardest to do that, but once an author grabs the reader with a final sentence that draws them in... you cannot help but want to read the next book of the series. Well, Kathleen Brooks has that ability to draw you in to sit for a spell and weave you a story that has you beg for more. She is that magical!

After enjoying the first book, Moonshine and Murder, I couldn't wait for Moonshine and Malice. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The development of characters and story is at a perfect pace and, yet again, the final sentence has me excited to know more about Moonshine Hollow, the characters, and how this magical story will end. 5 stars

Didn’t disappoint

Wow, this is the second book in the moonshine series and just as amazing if not more so then the first! It continues to follow Zoey as she learns about her powers and discovers new things about herself with the help of two sisters Velma and Agnes; who are more like mothers to her. Then there is Slade who is he really, why is he in moonshine hollow? The truth is revealed and now the true evil has to be dealt with! Kathleen doesn’t stop there. There are more questions that this book leaves us with! Slade has another secret, will Grand Mistress be able to transform?, will Zoey be the one to defeat Alexander and bring the two groups back together and have peace???

OMG! This story is getting better and better

So, what does a woman do when she uproots her life, moves to a new town, find a new career, fall in love with new folks, and have the ability to find true love? Well, you become a witch, protect your new friends , and try not to lose your shit in the process.

I am loving this 2nd installment of the Moonshine books. Zoey is the funniest.."accidental" witch ever. Watching her find out so many new pieces of herself is both funny and thoughtful. Now, if only we can avoid this war and get back to the loving..all would be good. Can't wait for the final stand.

Intrigued

Moonshine and Malice is an excellent next installment of the Moonshine Hollow series. We catch up with Zoey as she continues to master her powers which she stumbled upon in Moonshine & Murder. In Moonshine & Malice we learn more of the history of the magical side of the characters, and the biggest question we all had from Murder -Who is Slade?- is answered.
Kathleen Brooks excels at writing small town romances, and adding a touch of paranormal to this small town makes perfect sense. The Moonshine Hollow Series has been a great quick escape into the realm of possibilities.

Moonshine & Malice

This is the second book in Moonshine Hollow series with Zoey learning how to use her witch powers by Vilma and Agnes. Slade reappears to protect them against the evil hunters. It seems Zoey is his true love as well. This strange series is interesting but it does leave you with a cliff hanger again which is not my favorite thing about this book. It is a romance between Zoey and Slade which is something that I really like but as i said this series is definitely different. I am looking forward to the next release to see what Slade and Zoey together have to do to save the rest of the witches from the evil Alexander.

Even better than book 1.

Zoey and the town of Moonshine Hollow are back for another exciting, slightly sad supernatural adventure.
The main storyline was the sad part, but then anytime a kid goes missing my heart just cracks.
The bigger continuing story of the supernatural nature is building really nicely each story gives enough to keep me interested and entertained plus I'm always left wanting more I really love how this series is building with a mixture of some fast-paced some slower paced storylines.

The quaint town of Moonshine Hollow is growing on me as are all the wonderful and not so wonderful characters who live there I am always fully engaged in each story.

Once again I will say that this tiny book series is really good. I will also say that this book series could easily be one stand alone book. We continue following the journey of Slade and Zoey. We meet a few more good characters and still have the good old characters (the aunts) from the previous book. This series could also been teen fiction. It reads like a teen fiction book with all the different Witch powers and characters. Along with the Cat that is a Witch...
I enjoy everything written by Kathleen Brooks so far and this tiny book didn't disappoint.

The 2nd one just as good as the first

First, may I point out that I am usually reading only romance - well some historical fiction is my favorites too. But fantasy - other worlds - witches - not my usual style at all. But these books are fun. I am reminded of my days of watching Bewitched and imagining some of the characters from that show being part of these groups. So even if this isn't your normal, it's worth reading.

Loving this new series

I really love this new series. Great characters, I am enjoying how Zoey and Slade's characters are developing, and the quirkiness of Vilma and Agnes. With the references about Luke and Ava, I am hoping there is a Keenston book in the making there, maybe a crossover between the two towns and characters? Really looking forward to book 3. Would definitely recommend.

Zoey discovers she can see and talk to souls before they pass over which, she needs to do because a young boy needs her help. She meets more witches and learns more about her significant powers and a little about her heritage. Slade is a leather clad romantic, who must work to obtain the trust of the witches and mostly Zoey. The story deepens from the first in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I’m not normally a fan of supernatural themes, but love Kathleen Brooks so I took a chance on the Moonshine Hollow series and I’m so glad I did. Once again Kathleen knocks it out if the park! Her characters draw you in and make you feel like they’re you best friends. It’s going to be so hard to wait another two and a half weeks for the next book! I want to know how they beat Alexander, and you know they will because it’s a romance novel so true love has to win in the end.

Loved the 2nd book better than the first but probably the first book is just to wet your appetite for more. This 2nd book in the series picks up and the mystery is building. Zoey and Slade finally get together and let's just say I have a great fondness for Lavendar all of a sudden. The humor continues as well and the characters continue to develop. Loved Kathryn's debut for this type of story. Can't wait for Book #3. Thank goodness they are close together.

The Moonshine Hollow series is completely different from Kathleen Brooks’ regular story lines but her characters come to life just like all her other books. Zoey, an accidental witch, who may be more powerful that any other witch, even Slade, a very powerful male witch in his own right. Together they need to find a way to save the future of all witches while realizing they are a true love match.

Oh my!

As Slade, Zoey, and the others prepare and train for the battle brewing bonds are form and more secrets come to light. Slade has found is one true love in Zoey and vows to protect her and the others from Alexander. But as some believe the prophecy is real other believe it's not. Can they out beat Alexander? Can Zoey have a happy life with Slade and her friends in moonshine Hollow?

In this book Zoey learns more about and how to use her powers, and she and Slade enter a new relationship and of course you have Vilma and Agnes and the town it is a definite must read

A fascinating take on a supernatural world

Just finished Moonshine Hollow #2! I love the way this storyline is developing. Especially after first meeting the odd little town in Forever Hunted, and keeping it in mind through Luke Tanner’s several quick appearances in subsequent Forever Bluegrass stories. I don’t know how I’ll make it to April 16, when MH#3 will get here!

Series continues to intrigue

The author's new novella trilogy is a definite departure from her past works and does not disappoint. The characters are fun. Looking forward to the last installment next month and possibly revisit during crossovers with our Keeneston crowd when Ava visits Luke.

Read it in one sitting late into the night. LOVED, LOVED, LOVED!

So much happening in the story. We learn more about Zoey's powers and more about Slade. There's still more to come about Zoey and her family connection to the witches. I will be sad to see the series end on the next book. I'd love to keep reading this as a longer series.

Kathleen Brooks has created another great series! I was immediately suck into the story. I am in love with the small town of Moonshine Hollow and its characters. I know there are only three books set in this series but I am definitely hoping for more! I think Kathleen has struck gold with this series!

A new amazing series continues!

Kathleen Brooks is one of my absolute favorite authors. This new series has the same addictive pull as her others with a sprinkle of the supernatural. Impossible to put down, it leaves you sad you’ll have to wait for the next one! She’s created a world you just want to jump into and characters that feel like friends. A must read!!

Loved it

I don’t know how I did it but I held off reading this one until the final one was released so I could read them all in a row. Such a great series, the characters are easy to get wrapped up in and loved the crossover to Keeneston, even if it’s only a mention 😁 I highly recommend this series and honestly all of Kathleen Brooks series, they are all great.

A former lawyer, now a baker and an accidental witch, meets a little boy who keeps appearing and disappearing. Only some can see the boy or hear him, most notably witches. In the meantime, Slade reappears and the question is whether he will help or kill. Wonderful characters. I do suggest reading #1 if you can for a richer story. I am eagerly looking for #3 and #4.

I love the world of Moonshine Hollow that Kathleen Brooks has developed, and Zoey and Slade are two of my favorite characters, but to be fair at times the secondary characters steal the show.

In learning her powers, we learn about Zoey and the rest of the witches. We also learn what really makes up Slade.

There isn't much that can be said about the book without giving away spoilers, but if you love a great continuing paranormal romance, with mystery, magic and surprises along the way, this is the book and series for you!

I liked it, but it's light reading. There's no great depth to characters. They are pleasant, but there's no great emotional challenge. For a relax time between highly charged readings, it's OK. Got me curious enough to buy the three books and see how it all ended. So, three stars to the whole series
