Zoey Mathers was a witch. Not on purpose. It had happened accidentally. But as Zoey was finding out, maybe this had been her fate all along. Luckily the potential witch hunter, Slade, had turned out to be on her side and had found a place in her heart. With the War of the Witches heating up, it’s not just Zoey’s life on the line, but all the witches fighting for good.
But fate wasn’t done with Zoey yet. There was a reason she’d become a witch when others wouldn’t have. And that answer was going to change her life even more. Now Zoey was falling in love, fighting for good, and defending the sweet small town of Moonshine Hollow. All while the humans were completely unaware of a war around them. But that was nothing compared to the fight to end the war—the one the prophecy said was up to her. Only one witch was going to survive and she just hoped fate knew what she was doing because Zoey’s life was in the balance.

The paranormal is a huge departure for Brooks but she has captured the imagination of her readers with this series. I hated to see it end and hope for visits once in a while from Luke as he makes his move to Keeneston. Zoey and Slade are great together and I enjoyed their story in this novella trilogy.
Love this final book in the trilogy...as always packed full of witchy mayhem, prophesies, long lost family members, interfering oldies, unsuspecting humans and a number of unexpected twists. Everything you could ask for!
Zoey Mathers looks like she has a boyfriend in the reformed witch hunter Slade, and there are more like him who have rebelled against Alexander, the leader of the hunters. The hunters are the ones who hunt down witches to kill them and absorb their powers to make themselves stronger. More than that, it looks like the hunters have zeroed in on them in this little town of Moonshine Hollow. It seems they are hunting for them, but they don’t know about Zoey or Slade yet. They will have to get the humans out of the town because the hunters have already proven they will kill the humans to achieve their goal.
Yeah, when I drank moonshine for the first time, I caused a little mayhem but regretted it all day at work and after. I don’t think it was until the day after I started to feel normal, well, as normal as normal is for me. :D The physical world-building gives you a hazy picture. The ethereal world-building is mostly personal. The character’s interactions are believable. The history is summarized as part of the story.
This story is neither a horseshoe nor a hand grenade, just as it is not a Cozy mystery, but it’s close. I give this account five stars out of five stars.
What a funtastic finale. Zoey, Slade, and everyone in Moonshine Hollow is back for the final epic battle, can they put an end to Alexander and the bad Tenebris???
Zoey's world has been turned upside down since that fated night she tried to save her client and Slade ended up saving her, months later she has found a new home in Moonshine Hollow, opened a bakery instead of a law practice and discovered she is a witch, oh and met her one true love... Not bad for just a few months...lol
This is a fun, fast-paced supernatural adventure with a lovely sweetness to it, the characters are endearing and, the small town makes me want to pack up my bags and move in, the magic and mystery just add to the fun of the town and I'd love more from Moonshine Hollow.
First, I wouldn't mind living in Moonshine Hollow... Okay, I love a good trilogy, especially one that plays out with secrets and mystery, magic and, of course, moonshine of both types ;). Seriously though, Zoey and Slade are such great characters, and the finale to the Moonshine Hollow Series (I want more) was well played out.
All of the questions that arose throughout the series were answered. Not everything was tied up with a shiny ribbon, but I'm good with that, that means that hopefully we get another visit.
Zoey finds out everything she needs to, and she finds out who and what she can be. Not only that, but the questions about Slade are finally answered, and boy those answers are a doozy!
Overall Amanda score: A- This was a great ending to a good tiny little saga. Once again we are watching Zoey and Slade go to the final battle and save the world. At the point of the end it read like a Sarah J. Maas story that I do believe that I have read before. I will say once again that this little book series should be one stand alone book. They are all three tiny little books that are continuing the same story line. I really liked all the characters. Kathleen once again did a fantastic job writing this little book series. I have not read a book yet of hers that I hated. If you like teen fiction with witches and battles to save the world you will like this series. Not to mention if you need to finish your reading goal for the year these are 3 books that could easily be 1 book.
The time for the battle is at hand. Zoey and Slade and their legions must now fight for their lives..in the meantime, secrets are discovered that could harm or help the outcome of the fight between good and evil.
This was an awesome end to a wonderfully delightful series. Zoey and Slade, Lauren and Linus, Agnes and Wilma..all the townsfolk together make for a beautifully, exciting, whimsical, and magically series.
You’ll enjoy the journey of watching not only the town grow and come to life, but watching these quirky people rally for strangers as well as themselves to find healing, love, and happiness within Moonshine Hollow.
Moonshine & Mayhem, the 3rd book in the Moonshine Hollow series, is the best of the series. Each book has its own stand alone story but from Book #1 to #3, a larger story is told and the pace builds. The reader will be laughing and asking "and then what happened, . . . and then . . . ." Well written and books for all ages. Witches, good and evil, are gearing up for battle and surprises are revealed about Slade's parentage and Zoey's. Well written and thoroughly entertaining. I will likely reread the set in the very near future to savor the tapestry of the story and pull out more humor and details (both abundant in the series). Bravo!
Zoey Mathers is a witch, not by choice but by birthright which she didn't even recognize. Moonshine Hollow is in a battle between good and evil. The witches realize Zoey and her boyfriend Slade are powerful individually, but together they would be hard to defeat. So the battle begins.
The story reminded me somewhat of the Charlaine Harris stories about Sookie Stackhouse and her battling demons. I really enjoyed the Bluegrass series and the other spinoffs of the Bluegrass characters. I like the series she has set near the South Carolina coast. I will try a few other stories about Moonshine Hollow and then decide whether to continue reading.
The “ Final” installment of the Moonshine trilogy was everything I hoped for and so much more. I loved the “crossover” to Keeneston and some of my favorite characters there. I love books that can successfully do crossovers. This is not a typical genre for my favorite author but she is a natural at it and it doesn’t disappoint. I’m so happy she left it open to continue if she wishes but with a finale strong enough to be the end if it should be. The characters are great and the ending had me with happy tears ☺️
As a fan of Ms. Brooks and her books, it was said that this series was only going to be three books. As enjoyable of a story that this has been, I feel that with the ending this book had, there will possibly be more books to come. If that is the case, it will be definitely on my reading list. If not.... the ending is solid.
So, if you are looking for a series that gives small town charm and a healthy dose of some feel good magic.... look no further! Moonshine Hollow is what you are looking for. 5 stars!
I can not wait to read the next one. I started this book at soon as the preorder arrived on my kindle. I hated putting it down.... even had to convince my daughter she was super tired and to go to bed early so I could keep reading.
The characters are so well written that I feel emotionally connected to them. I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next! I could never find a good point to put it down for a minute because I just wanted to know what was going to happen next.
I have never been a true fan of fantasy/shifters/witchcraft novels but this series by Kathleen Brooks has , literally, shown me the light!
I felt so invested in the outcome of this good vs evil epic battle that was, in the end, won by true love. I truly enjoyed the weaving of secondary characters from the original Bluegrass series into this series.
I highly recommend this book and the entire Moonlight series to those who are currently fans of Kathleen Brooks and those who should be!
This series is a fun new twist to Kathleen Brooks' storytelling. I loved getting to know the community of Moonshine Hollow better in this new series. It is a great addition to my collection of Mrs. Brooks' novels. This final story wraps up the trilogy nicely. However, I will cross my fingers in hope anticipation that she will continue writing this fun and exciting storyline.
I loved this trilogy - this was a great end to it all
Not my norm as I have noted with the other two books, but so good and written so well - with a true touch of Kathleen's writing in it. Little ties to Keeneston that are recognizable to those who read through the Bluegrass Series and other series based in that little Kentucky town - but nothing that would ruin the story or be confusing. I highly recommend the trilogy to all.
This book concludes this fun paranormal series. Zoey and Slade’s romance heats up and cements their roles as true loves. The battle between Alexander and Zoey comes to a head. Also, there is a crossover to Keenston. This series was a departure for the author and I hope it will not be the end to her paranormal adventures. The characters are a quirky as an avid reader of the author expects and as lovable.
Even though I usually don't care for continuing series, this one was great. It held my interest and made me feel part of the story. I was totally absorbed through each book. I'm hoping this isn't the end as there seems as though there was enough left in the way of characters to have at least one more book. I also can't wait to start on other series by this author. This is one author I definitely will follow.
Loved this series, really hope it's going to continue. Whilst normally I'm not a fan of multi-edition stories, the series of events surrounding the main event are set well into each edition. Because I also like to binge read saving them till I had time to get through them all helped! Zoeys and Slades story is a love story at the heart of it, not exactly usual challenges but definitely exciting and worth reading. Highly recommended
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - I LOVE THIS AUTHOR!! Moonshine & Mayhem brings even more twists as Zoey embraces her destiny while grappling with the war between good and evil. The romance between her and Slade continues to deepen, and their dynamic is full of tension, passion, and witty banter. The stakes are high, and the magical conflicts are thrilling, making this installment hard to put down. The balance of humor, suspense, and heart keeps the story engaging, and Zoey’s growth as a witch and a leader is compelling. The final showdown is intense, leaving readers eager for more.
This, the third book in the Moonshine Hollow series was the perfect ending! I loved watching Slade’s character soften and show his true feelings. Loved watching Zoey grow and develop! And several surprises that pop up along the journey! Kathleen has done it again, couldn’t put it down and definitely can’t wait to see who she writes about next?
Absolutely loved it!!! Book 3 was brilliant, the way it all came together and the surprise family/friends connection was wicked good and to have a complete shock appearance of a new character was just wow!!! Hopefully Kathleen will be writing more to this series as the way the end was left open for future books and leading into hopefully book 4.... So want book 4!!!!! And 5,6,7 etc... 😉
Since I’m hopping Ms Brooks will continue with this series I don’t want to call this the end. I loved all three of these books and hope to see more of the people it them. It’s a great light read to help escape everyday stress. I highly recommend them and all Kathleen Brooks’ books 📚
I love this series. Slade, Zoey and all the witches and humans are great and the interweaving is fabulous. I am awaiting the next book for sure
Why not 5 star? Books are too short and should have been combined. $2.99 for 100 pages seems excessive to me. All Ms. Brooks other books seem much longer.
I loved this entire series!!! I loved the quirky characters. I loved the small town setting! I loved the character interactions and the plot was awesome! I love the twists, the element of magic and of course the tie-in with your other books! So, when is the next set! Smiles!!!
I totally loved all three of the books in the Moonshine Hollow series. Kathleen Brooks has an amazing writing style that pulls you in and entrenches you in the lives of her characters. They become your friends and you care about them. I strongly recommend this series and all of her other books too.
Zoey and Slade prepare for battle and go up against Alexander. As truths come out and Slades real identity comes to life, zoeys father is found and good battles evil. Will good win? Will Zoey and Slade have their happy ending? Well let's just say you womt put this book down!
The final stand down takes place. The battle between good and evil. Who comes out the victor, Slade and Zoey or Alexander? A great wrap up to this trilogy. Looking forward to a forth book in this series and I traditionally don't read paranormal type books. This was wonderfully written and had wonderful the ins to the Bluegrass series.
Kathleen has done it again. This series is so sweet and amazing. As with all of her stories it still kept you on your toes wanting to know what would happen next. Loved it!!?
