"Enduring Love" by Danyelle Scroggins

My Thoughts....

What will Priscilla and Steven have to do in order to get that enduring love that was so need in their marriage? For certain they had all of the materialistic things in life but did they have the 'faith love, and trust that could be restored through forgiveness and repentance?' I love how this author presented this Christian read to the readers definitely showing us just what that 'Enduring Love" was that this couple had lost. With this couple having such serious issues will they be able to mend their broken marriage? Well, to find out you will just have to pick up this wonderful story to see how well this author presents such a meaningful story. It was a delight seeing just how Priscilla reached out to her friends Regina and [Serafine] at a retreat also Steven with his pastor who were there for them not only in prayer but listening and in the end...getting that "Enduring Love" that was lost but was now found "Because love, endures all things."

The book is a very realistic look at a marriage and how easily we can take things for granted. Priscilla is a very confident woman who seems to have it all. She has a great job, wonderful husband and enough money to live comfortably. I noticed that there is a bit of talk about intimate relations in the story that were off putting. I will say I’m a big prude when it comes to discussing sex or even reading about it. I think the author could have left some of the context of the story out and still gotten her point across.

Now I can focus on the really good points of the story. The main focus was two fold. There are secrets and lies between Priscilla and her husband. It is so easily to find fault with your spouse that you forget that it takes two to make a marriage. One of the best parts of the entire story is when each of the main characters find themselves crying out to God for help. Priscilla is ready to give up on her marriage until a special woman in her life ministers to her. It was very well written and exactly what Priscilla needed to hear.

Steven has his own sin to deal with and I loved how he found help by visiting a pastor. The pastor does not condemn him, but leads him in prayer and guides him to repentance. Love is special and can endure anything the enemy tries to destroy if you trust God. I kept thinking about the verse, “The love of money is the root of all evil.” This verse is perfect for this story. The author also deals with lust and I thought she did it in a way that doesn’t condemn, but leads you to ask forgiveness and know that you are set free. I appreciate the many scriptures used in the story. I found the story to be a great message in forgiveness and unconditional love.

I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.

Enduring Love (E Love Series Book 1)
by Danyelle Scroggins
Reality in a nut shell, for many and for marriages. Brought together by love; but, all too often that bitter bit of a betrayal is felt from the other’s actions and/or words. This story is rich with descriptive visuals, that will tear your heart in two; while enticing the reader to continue reading to see just what will become of the family. A story of a love gone wrong, of how it overcome all the disastrous and devastating messes that came with this marriage; with the courage to love and belief to do what is the right.
We meet that one person that makes our universe complete, we lovingly commit our lives to one another in marriage; only to get delivered a crippling blow of adversity. Disastrous blows keep gathering, more to cope with along the way. As if one thing is now hard enough to cope with; but, to have multiple things that keep piling up. We read of her story and the narrative flashes back to previous time where his betrayal was evident; giving the reader context of the history within the relationship. As we come to learn the history, of his big secret; but, they have not spoken it. She knows his secret and he thinks that is why she has gone away; but, really, it is because she has a secret of her own, that he does not know about. Sometimes, one must escape the other; to get a bearing on just how to cope with it all.
There is little that impacts our lives that does not cause some type of ripple in the delicate fabric of a relationship. Adding more pressures to situation that is already a tense relationship; but, to add something that is totally unexpected and felt would never happen. Each wanting to be right with god and pray separately for the guidance necessary to do the right thing; and to be honest with each other. Relationships are always going to be tested, bonds are formed and strengthened, and the fate of the relationship can be restored by the love that was once shared. Courage and Strength; are brought to those who stand on what is right, and belief in ourselves, through Christ’s love.
Awesome book; I could not put it down, and I cannot wait to read the next book of this series. I am sure that it will be just as great. One of my favorite elements of this story was that the characters are human; with realistically complicated flaws and faults, with motives and inconsistent behaviors; but, at the core has an unwavering faith to pray for the other while not knowing what is behind the ripple of the relationships fabric. I love how the author puts god in the book and puts bible verses in between the chapters of Enduring Love; it is through him that all are possible. I will have to say this book deserves a 5 out of 5 rating.

My Thoughts on Enduring Love:
I always love starting new series. They prepare me for whether I’ve entered a new love affair or not. That seems appropriate as this author fashioned herself to be the love author of the Christian world. I think she’s got a great start!

This is the first book from this author I’ve ever read and I wasn’t sure what to expect starting off. Each author is so different in their personality and the way they write. I knew this author to have a strong personality from her introduction below. It made me laugh so I was really hopeful this book would as well.

While there were a few spots that did make me laugh in the book there were others that made me take some deep looks and think.

I can’t wait to see where the storyline goes for the next books. Will it follow along with people we’ve already met or jump on to a new place?

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.

Do have what it takes to have enduring love? Enduring Love follow the lives of Steven, an engineer and Pricilla, a mortgage agencie owner; an African American couple who are born again Christians. They seem to have it all wealth, a nice home, and expensive cars, successful careers but neglecting their love have open their lives to enemy and now two events have shaken the very foundation of their faith and marriage leaving them both with life altering decisions to make. Faith, love and trust can be restored threw forgiveness and repentance. Love can endure all things. I never knew when the author asked me to read Enduring Love, that I would gain so much wisdom and revelation and to see 1 Peter 3:7 in action , husbands dwell with their wives according to knowledge was awesome. You will love this book. The scene with her best friend at the retreat is the core to this story.

Enduring Love

Priscilla and Steven had a bunch happening right under their noses, which caused a drain to the marriage. Priscilla was a chronic liar and both her husband and best friend knew it, but loved her in spite of. It was amazing g that these two were able to reconnect but marriage had become a chore and and bore - but they both still cared and respected each h other. Priscilla, I can relate to her protecting the money. She went to a lot of extra to do so, and to find out Steven didn't even care about the money. Love can endure thru hardships and disappointment if we shift our mindset. Both the husband and wife had a shift and the struggle became easier and love was rediscovered

"Enduring Love" by Danyelle Scroggins is the third in a series of 5 and I haven't read the other four but I am going to. I think most readers would like this as a standalone.

I wasn't sure I was going to like this because at first it seemed like it was going to be graphic and and there was a swear word, but I did end up liking it.

This is a story of forgiveness and healing. It clearly shows that we all have a part when a marriage goes wrong and in this marriage love of money was the culprit.

I was given a contemporary copy by there author and Celebrate Lit. These opinions are my own.

A wonderful one sitting read.
Enduring love is short but filled with great lessons for everyone who picks the book.

When life threw curve balls into Steven and Priscilla's path, I loved how they got to rely on God and not on themselves.
I loved reading about the wonderful support system they had around them.

Enduring Love is a beautiful story of love, redemption, forgiveness and second chances.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

In her straight, no-chaser style, Pastor Danyelle brings a tale of secrets, lies and infidelity that tells us what it means when the Bible says that love endures all things. I love the sisterhood references that ultimately bring this story to one of forgiveness and redemption reminding us that with a good support system and the word of God, we can truly overcome life's unexpected twists and turns. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed are my own.

Love that Endures...God's Love!

This was an AMAZING WORK. This book is a book of hope, love and encouragement. I really enjoyed this book. I love how scripture was woven into life and life situations throughout the entire book. Sometimes we lose focus and take out eyes off our first love. BUT when we refocus, stay focus and continue to focus watch what happens.

Powerful

A short but heavy bible based story , with various life applications. Although I don’t agree with the outcome , I can understand her decision and position . There were some biblical principles that I gained and will be applying them to my life .

I was so blessed by this book. No matter how messed-up our lives can become, God is so good and He helps us and cleans us up. The main thing I saw as I read was the wisdom this author has. So I will read more of her books. Very well done!

A Story of Redemption. From the first page, I was drawn in. This is another great life lesson from author Danyelle Scroggins. Indeed, there are several life lessons within the pages of this book. Above all, purpose is of utmost importance and it is powerful, because it will prevail (succeed) over a person’s plans. “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)

Several themes ran throughout this story – sisterhood, pastoral care, love, forgiveness, repentance, and restoration. How do you overcome trust that is broken? This story gives several answers including learning to forgive, which sets people free.

Steven and Priscilla Marshall had marital issues and their failure to communicate with each other did not help their situation. The author did a great job shedding light on how issues in a marriage not only affect the couple but others around them on different levels. Steven and Priscilla learned about communication, the power prayer, submitting to God and resting in Him, which were the keys to making their marriage whole.

Thanks for another great read, author Danyelle Scroggins. Grab your copy.

Have you ever read a book that made you laugh, cry, and more throughout the pages? This book is one of those books. Priscilla is an incredibly strong and successful woman who has hard decisions to make. But we do not realize what all those decisions are until later in the book.

Steven and Priscilla seem to have everything the world views as important: money, a powerful and successful spouse, and a beautiful home. Yet appearances can be deceiving. An unexpected pregnancy seems to set off a tidal wave of destructive forces on their marriage. Yet they are blessed to have faith in God along with faithful friends to walk beside them.

Regina, Priscilla’s assistant, plays a role in this story, but I can not wait to read her own story. Nathan, a waiter, has a story of his own that is waiting to be told with Regina’s. I look forward to reading it.

This book illustrates the power of faith, God, and friendship. It shows how the prayers of the righteous can be answered. The Biblical passages quoted, the prayers offered, the Women’s retreat and more come together to make this a powerful book of how God has power.

So I definitely suggest you check this book out for yourself. It is the first book in a series, and I can not wait to read the next story.

My Thoughts: This is a charming story about love that is tested. Can love survive the tests of life without God? It certainly makes it harder and less likely to survive. When Priscilla finds herself with some decisions to make about her life and marriage, she finds her answers when her beloved friend turns her back to God. This book is not long, it is an easy read, full of lessons that we all can glean from. The characters and the storyline are very believable and easy to relate to. This is a book that will be hard to put down.

I love that my new favorite author has this short novella series about love and relationships. In book 1, Steven and Priscilla have issues that threaten to end their marriage. They have to decide if they will let God fix their brokenness or leave each other.

One major thing that was brought out in the book was that both individuals had to look to see how both of them individually did things that was not conductive to a healthy and Godly Marriage.

Absolutely enjoyed it. The message of love intertwined with the realities and circumstances that people encountered that can change or alter the way you love, is great. I can't wait to read the next book.
