Everyone’s always telling her to watch her mouth. Now she’ll have to watch his, too.
Sexy, smartass York lives for the thrill of anything new and exciting. Now, if she’s not careful, she might die for it, too. York knew her assignment on Hethdiss meant a whole new group of aliens and being a call-girl is never the safest of jobs.
But sexy, mysterious Azan is like no one she’s ever met. His heated gaze follows her wherever she goes, and she suspects the mask he wears hides more than his mouth—it protects his heart. York’s determined to learn the infuriating alien’s secrets. As a translator for the prince, Azan can speak over thirty languages. But his own native tongue is poison—literally. He knows better than to get too attached to the gorgeous human woman he’s hired. No one who sees what’s under his mask will ever want him as a mate.
He can’t send York away, no matter how often he tries, even though all he wants to do is protect her. But she’s about to name her poison…and it’s Azan, whether he likes it or not.
I have been in a bit of a book funk lately and decided that I wanted something completely different from what I usually read. So I downloaded this book, and I am pleasantly surprised to say that this novel kept me hooked all the way through even though it was a sex-driven read with surprisingly deep characters.
Azan is a kind but battered alien soul who has been told that he is not good enough his entire life simply because he is different. He has been forced to hide behind a mask and has been shunned by his own family his entire life. Then he meets York, who is loud and outspoken and fearless and who makes him want to be fearless too. She is what he has been yearning for his entire life as she is the only one willing to look past his mask to the kind soul hidden beneath. This was a beautiful, SEXY, and otherworldly take on a classic story, and I absolutely loved Azan's vulnerability and York's boldness. Even though the logistics of how/why the humans ended up on the alien planet were never fully explained, I still found myself fully entranced by their story.
I'd recommend this to readers who are looking for a unique but powerful take on the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, with plenty of steam to keep things interesting.
My Azan, the soulful alien hidden by a mask who is simply searching for love....
I really wanted to like this book. I loved the premise for it and for half the other books in the series. The book didn't live up to the description though.
What on earth or what ever planet you reside on,is this ? Seriously ? What I just read was two deeply insecure ppl, who once they decide to make a move with each other, have sex or sexual moments ( at first) then chat ,jump to conclusions, have sex, have a misunderstanding, have more sex, eat, jump again, sex and more sex get confused, hurt feeling ensue make up,get scared, more sex, then The End... Seriously, that’s it,the spoiler free version.... this ISN’T romantic in the slightest.... York ( dear lord, what kinda name for a “girl” is “York”) we are told by herself and others she’s really really smart and clever etc. and while she can be rather insightful at times, like understanding how and why Azan is soo deeply insecure and hurting over his looks, she was also quick to judge and jump to conclusions, and had a hair trigger temper that would have killed or injured untold others if it had been a weapon... One minute our “super smart” York is being thoughtful and kind to the poor sweet beaten down Azun and seemingly soo understanding of his faults and set backs the next jumping to conclusions about whether he wants her or not just because he needs to do something w/out her ( heaven forbid) or follow cues the way she thinks he should ,( even though she knows he’s an alien who’s a virgin in EVERY sense of the word and has NEVER EVER been in a relationship with a woman before.... or the next getting all but hurt and offended because he doesn’t correct her when she calls herself a hore, when unlike some she supposedly KNEW what she was signing up for, when she signed up..... plus unlike some she “chose” it because she wanted to and seemingly to show others that despite being soo “smart” and well off she could make very dumb decisions as well.... Seriously, all York do is sit around, have sex of some kind, chat, more sex, make lame guess’s ( in stead of talking ) about what the other wants , sex more talking and then more sex.... No world 🌍 building ( I guess that was all in the first book ? Some back story as far as Azun goes ,not much on York, some back and forth where the other women/girls complain abs or ask questions, though all things considered p, you’d think some of the women would be a little happier about where they are and how much better they are being treated compared to their “normal “ space hire treatment .... But that’s all this was.... I don’t know what this was supposed to be and sadly I don’t think the book did either... Can’t recommend... but if what I described sounds good to you,go for it... Azun is a sweet, sweet guy who has been beaten down by life and family because of a slight “birth defect” he was born with,( of course,”birth defect”) but is definitely a diamond just waiting to be found and appreciated.... York is loud and sarcastic but she can be sweet and thoughtful w/ Azun, that is when she’s not humping his brains or jumping to silly conclusions or wandering off alone in classic TSTL style coz a strange planet full of strangers is now completely safe now that I’m humping one of the strangers nearly non stop... Right ? I’d say check it out if your curious and have KU and don’t always need a pesky story or plot getting in the way of near constant sex....
I was really looking forward to this book... and I’m gutted because I wanted to love York and Asan’s story.
York who is an apparently smart rich girl who became a space whore because she wanted ‘different’? I’m thinking extreme much? She was quite wishy washy emotions left me feeling emotionally whiplashed.
As for Azan, who I had ramped up in my head to be the ultimate in mask wearing dark and broody silent marshmallows? Nope... he was a bit of a wet blanket... I literally cringed every time he referred to his ‘Mama’ ( and he says it a lot!!) I mean come on... way to kill my bookreading boner! I wanted them to be the strong couple they were hyped to be... not the self doubt riddled people they actually were.
Before I get lynched.. I’m not saying that characters can’t have self doubts or traumatic back stories... I just wanted them both to be stronger.. taking control of their doubts, owning that shit and rising above it!
As for the next book... I was really interested to read it as I really like the two characters it features, I’m currently undecided about reading it.
I enjoyed this book more than the first. York is a spitfire who truly needs to be challenged to feel alive. It's how she got into the mess of becoming human "entertainer". Now she has the chance to stay on this new planet with an Alien Sidyth who she normally would run from because of their reputation for cruelty! Azan is not like traditional Sidyth and that why he joined his Prince in exile. He doesn't wish to hurt woman he only wants the chance to love and be loved in return and to have the fAmily he was denied while young. Even among his own he was shunned. I don't want to give the story away, but he feels unworthy and questions if he deserves to be happy. York and Azan are drawn together and become attached quickly. Yorks 's acceptance and unconditional love of Azan help him flourish. Azan's complete adoration of York sets her heart aflame and gives her the challenge she needs to grab a hold of what she wants and fight for it. I liked both characters and I've decided to read the next book in the series. 💖
I was so excited to see that Azan’s story was the next in series. I fell in love with him during the last book and was so freaking far from disappointed with him in this book! What a sexy Sidyth stud! I’m jealous of York.
I loved the science fiction Beauty and the Beast elements in this. The world building is beautiful and the quirkiness to the males makes me really wish I was there to find my own alien hottie. The sexual tension between these two was perfect and I really enjoyed the buildup. One scene in particular had me laughing pretty good.
I really don’t want this series to end. I would love for each girl to have her own book and I’m hoping Arizona or Ellis is next. I’m dying to know what is happening at the other underground location! I’d also be interested in some female Sidyth books or at least some interactions. I think Sabrina could make some amazingly fierce female Sidyth characters!
I love how different this world is. Yes all the guys are looking for their own one, but how they all wound up there is unusual. I've loved getting to know York and Azan in this story. Azan is such a sweetheart and I love how he's just like any human guy who's always been bullied. I hate that he was ever bullied but his having low self-esteem makes all of the guys more human. I really enjoy York and her sassy attitude. I love how peaceful this world feels and how it feels as if they have all the time in the world to get to know each other and make each other happy. I'm really loving finding out about all these girls and their guys secrets and I can't wait to find out about more of them.
I love York. She is open minded and loves different. She lets you know real quick when you have messed up and doesn’t let you get away from her if she really wants you. Adam. Is perfect for her because he cherishes her beyond reason. He never expected to be able to have a mate so he is happy with anything she gives him. And York wants to be everything to him because he has been treated so badly this far in his life.
I kind figured he wore the mask because he had like fangs or something. The poison thing I wasn’t expecting but still pretty cool. It will be interesting to see how things progress between them while reading about the other girls.
This is the second book in the series of Sidyth aliens and human space entertainers who are actually human whores. The first book Purchased tells the story of Prince Korben and Blythe and how they fall in love across the galaxy’s. This second book is about York and Azan. Azan is very shy for a 7 ft tall alien and as York gets to know him she finds out why. Azan has been disowned by his family and thinks he’s diseased and no good. It is quite sweet how trust and love blossoms slowly between him and York. If you like Sci-Fi with a difference I recommend giving this books a try.
I really enjoyed this book. I couldn’t put it down. You could cut the sexual tension with a knife. I loved York! She was persistent, nonjudgmental, and knew what she wanted. That person just happens to be the most feared alien in the group and the most mysterious. Azan has had a life of constant rejection and when, for the first time, a woman showed him any interest he believes it’s too good to be true. Thankfully York is up to the challenge!
I really love this series. This is the first series I’ve read that was alien romance and I loved it. I especially loved this book was about Azan. I was wondering about him in the first book. I thought he was gonna be a bad guy, I mean he wears a mask, but I was delightfully wrong. I really love him now. I don’t wanna say why because of spoilers but this is a definitely must read especially if you have read book 1. I really can’t wait to see what else happens in this series!
Guarded (Rebels of Sidyth, #2) The timeline for this novel is set to overlap Purchased. We follow York and Azan as they navigate through dealing with their differences. I really enjoyed this novel even more than the first one. York and Azan are adorable together with Yorks fiery personality and Azan's sweet protective side. Looking forward to reading the next novel in this entertaining sci-fi romance series. I'm excited to find out who's story is next.
This Series is just Great Full of emotions, angst, developing in each relationship. York is a smartass and she became curious with Azan. Why is he reading The mask? Read to find it out. Their relationship is Full of overcoming obstacles (differences) and getting an understandment. I really liked The idea of aliens where each alien can be a lot different form The other. Ms. Jadę for sure knows how to create steamy scenes and develop relationships in Great way.
The second book in the Rebels of Sidyth series and this book focuses on York and Azan. While this book does overlap the first book in the series it is showing how York and Azan work through their differences. I personally love how York does not allow Azan's differences chase her away and that ending ...... O-M-G I so can not wait to see what happens with everyone. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
York keeps looking at the quiet one, Azan. He keeps watching her. Then she starts talking to him, although he doesn't talk back. She pushed him to talk to her and he finally does. His voice can make her hotter than hell. He wears a mask over his mouth. You wonder why. You will have to read the book to find out why and what York does about it. This is definitely as good as the first book of this series, and it is for adults only. The sex is delicious!
Azan is the masked Sidyth and York is the one he's most attracted to. The reason behind his mask is completely hidden. It's a huge deal and a shame for him. Because of it he's been alone, a virgin and unloved everywhere he goes.
It was super sad. It gave him huge self esteem issues. York was patient until she wasn't. Now she and Blythe are pregnant. They weren't expecting that, lolz. It was super cute and super emotional.
As a fan of Ruby Dixon’s ice planet barbarians and Laurianne’s Dohner’s alien books, I was hoping this series would improve. But it’s not improving- the first chunk is just rehashing the last book and even the same conversations which is tiring. Granted the author wants these to stand alone but there must be a way to expedite this. Of course I read the first book the day before so it’s a little more repetitive.
I’m enjoying this series of aliens and human women brought together to procreate. If only males were so solicitous of us. Enjoy reading from one or two perspectives. Some repetition. Not much build up or back story, but enough for the story to flow. Strong male character who overcomes his affliction with help from the female character. Survivors all.
The second book in this well written series once I started this series I had to have this book and I want the next one. York and Azan's story tells of a man who has been mistreated all of his life because of what he hides behind his mask, and how he and York come together. This is a series I recommend especially this book.
It's a good read, but not my favorite so far. York's story was okay, but it dragged a little. I love the continuation of the series, and there are some really good parts, I just felt like it took too long to come to a resolution, and some elements were repeated too often. I'm looking forward to Ellis's story now though.
York is an intelligent human female who signs up to be a pleasure entertainer or basically a galactic whore. She finds herself on a alien planet immensely attracted to a handsome alien named Azan who wears a mask. When she pleasured herself to sleep thinking about him it was hilarious. Loved their story.
Another good book by Ms Kade. Everything, time and place woven together nicely without missing anything. This is 2nd book in series and I'll be going for the rest of the books.
Azan and yor k both love the rain and would be a couple of Azan would get out of the way . His insecurities could keep them apart . Find out how they come together . I e noted the book and look forward to reading # 3.
A beautiful love story that capture your heart and leaves you wanting more with awesome characters. You will not be disappointed in any way and so ready to read the next book in the series.
The books in this series will captivate your imagination. With sexy aliens and sassy women, you never know what could happen. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
I still find these books to be a bit wordy (get together already!) but I can't help being drawn to them. Nothing really happens in this installment other than the romance, although the hero does hint at an outside danger.
This quirky alien group really grows on you. They are so different and it is cheerfully fun. I totally enjoyed reading this second book of the series. These books are great and I always love the happy endings.
I absolutely love this series. I am so glad that Azan and York were the 2nd book. I was dying to learn more about Azan. Come give these sexy aliens a try.
