The story has so much promise. I do like the idea. It has some dramatic romance in it. The execution is poorly done. The wording and the writing style is abrubt and left me confuse.
Miss Brooks also not investing enough time to build chemistry between the characters.
What a pity. Such a waste to a promising story.

I loved this because there was no broken H/h, this was just a book about two people who had to make a sacrifice to save one of them and it ended up working out! It was refreshing and a little angsty and HOT af! Then you throw in a little 5 yo person and All was right with the world!

This is the fifth book in the Blackwings MC Series by Teagan Brooks. Eight years ago Jacob Marks aka Shaker took his pregnant girlfriend, Beth to the hospital when her water broke. When the baby is born Asian, Shaker realizes Beth was banging her stepbrother and he leaves town. He served in the Marines with Carbon so he goes to stay with him and that’s how he becomes the Road Captain for the Blackwings MC. After joining the Blackwings he starts banging Ashley, a club whore, and she fakes being pregnant. Shaker has now been burned twice by women so he makes a promise to himself never to put himself in that position again. Keegan’s mom died when she gave birth to her little sister, Gabriella, who is now five years old. Her stepfather, Senator Lawrence Hastings is a horrible man and he uses Keegan’s love for her little sister to get her to do what he wants. Lawrence sends Gabriella away to boarding school and tells Keegan he’s found her a husband and she’ll be getting married in three months. When Keegan refuses to get married Lawrence beats her badly and luckily she’s able to get away. When Shaker sees the bruises all over Keegan’s face he’s determined to keep her safe. I realize Shaker had some bad experiences with women but in my opinion he was acting like a little bitch who needed to man-up.

Jacob "Shaker" Marks thought he had met the girl for him only to be betrayed and deciding he would never put him in that position again. When he meets Keegan his interest is peaked but he keeps it as friends. What he doesn't know about Keegan though is that her Stepfather, Senator Lawrence Hastings, is holding her young little sister against her. Keegan's mother passed and she is dedicated to her little sister, so when Lawrence demands she marry a man she has never met, she refuses and gets beaten badly. Shaker finds her and steps up to protect her. There is a lot about Shaker that Keegan has no idea about and the closer they get the more Shaker decides maybe Keegan is what he has been looking for.
Amazing, this was so different then what I thought. Loved every moment of this one. Shaker was a huge surprise with his story. Another terrific read from this author.

Freakin awesome !
Teagan Brooks is one of my favorite Authors and the Blackwings MC series are one of my favorite books. From the first page of Dash to the last page of Shaker I've devoured every word , every sentence every chapter.
The story line is concise its page turning the words just jump off the page keeping you engrossed in every aspect of the story. The characters are strong, heartfelt , powerful and you feel like you wosh you had people like that in your own life.
Shaker like previous books in this brilliant series is a man who knows what he wants and what he doesn't want. Due to previous bad relationships he didn't trust anyone, except his club brothers and their old ladies. He made promises to himself that he would protect himself from women who were only out for one thing his money. However Keegan threw a spanner in the works just by being herself and soon Shakers icy cold heart began to thaw. And he finds himself wanting more from life with keegan by his side. But keegans past puts not only shaker but his club brother Kellen in danger and soon all hell breaks loose. I really enjoyed this book and i had to laugh at some of the things that were said by his brothers as serious as what the subject is the light hearted banter has me laughing so hard . 5 stars from this reader i highly recommend this series

Shaker is the fifth book in The Blackwings Mc. Teagan Brooks has delivered yet another amazing story. Each book in the series gets better and better. This author sure knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seat. I absolutely love Shaker and Keegan together. I won’t give any of the story away because that’s not how I roll, but know you won’t regret reading a single page of any book by Teagan Brooks.

Another 10 star book from Teagan Brooks and the Blackwings MC!!! I gotta say when I first read about Shaker in Carbon (book 4) I was intrigued. I wanted to know more about him. As soon as I laid eyes on Shaker’s cover I knew all my questions would be answered....AND THEY WERE!!! Amazing story with suspense, romance, and laughter. OMG this book had me from the start I love Teagan Brooks series The Blackwings MC the flow is what I think hooked me from the first book Dash and I have read everything from this Author now Shaker is a guy that knows what he wants and what he doesn’t he just doesn’t trust anyone but his brothers in the MC but then comes along Keegan and the fireworks start if you like guys that are loyal and would stand behind you no matter what then this series is for you it a 5 star read for me

Really good!! When will some people learn? When someone in your past hurts you so bad instead of being scared to open your heart and find who you really were meant for instead of letting your ex win by you being by yourself and them happy with someone else. I just don't get it.
This is Shaker's and Keegan's story. He is not the person you would have thought him to be. He may think nobody knows both sides of him but some know him better than he thinks. As for Keegan she has a side that she hides too. What Keegan is found bruised up Shaker goes all out to both protect her and find out what is going on. Lots more of hot sexy bikers and the women who love them....oh and some shooting, kidnapping, killing, etc...
If you look at the series on both GR and Amazon you won't always see there is one more book in this side of the series... it's called Badger...#6

I can't get enough of these books. They keep getting better and better. I still can't figure out which member is my favorite but it's ok because I love them all. Shaker has been burned by women in the past so he made the decision to only have anal sex. Keegan is being abused by her step dad who is a powerful senator. Shaker is attracted to Keegan and wants to protect her. What you get is an entertaining story. I always enjoy these books.

I swear every book in this series is to die for. I knew Shaker would be my favorite though. Shaker had issues he needed to work out and Keegan had her own problems to deal with but together they can figure it all out. I loved everything about it this book.

I love Shaker and Keegan's story! It had a few surprises that I didn't see coming. I hope there will be lots and lots more from the original Blackwings chapter. With every book by Teagan Brooks I love her a little bit more!

So, I've really enjoyed all of the books in this series so far. It's been a surprise series in a sea of mediocre to terrible MC romances stories. But this book...THIS book is like POW. Shoves the amazingness of itself right in your face and attaches itself like a facehugger on Alien. Shaker is definitely my favorite of the bunch (so far). It just has everything I want. Complicated characters. Interesting plot. Drama. Suspense. Motorcycle club stuff. And the ending felt satisfying with absolutely no cliffhanger whatsoever.
Keegan unfortunately has to deal with her stepfather, Senator Lawrence Hastings, after her mother dies. He's awful and makes her life a living hell just so Keegan and see her little sister, Gabriella. After creating an elaborate ruse to miss out on a function for her stepfather, she accidently passes out on the roadside from dehydration and is rescued by Shaker, one of the club members for the Blackwings MC. Eventually, her stepfather confronts her, and she ends up getting the crap beaten out of her. Shaker ends up at her house to save the day, but even after being nursed back to health, Keegan still has obligations, including a masquerade ball. It's when she's there that she discovers she has allies with other rich friends, including a masked man, who makes her heart pound...
Shaker just had s#!t luck with women. It's to the point where he'll only do 'em in the other two places because he doesn't want anymore baby drama after the last two gals ripped his heart out...and no children of his own on top of that. THEN he gets kidnapped by some crazy lady that happens to be a brother's ol' lady's kidnapper's daughter. And what does that make him? Absolutely nothing. Which is what he was about to become until he was rescued from her grasp.
When he meets Keegan, he thinks she's beautiful, but he is DONE with a capital D. Then she gets beat up by her evil senator stepdad, and he knows he has to protect her, even if he can't have her. So, he calls in some favors that he hasn't used in a while and goes to the type of party he hasn't been to in a long, long time...
This book was just flipping fantastic. The characters were well-developed. And there were twists and turns. I wish I could talk more about the best part of it--the part that had me turning pages like a manic. Well, this was Kindle, so...scrolling quickly. I just reeaaallly, reeaaallly recommend this book. Gosh, it was so, so good. Read it. Stop right now. Read.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES!
I don't want it to end. I would love to see Coal, Byte, Kellan and maybe even Ranger get a book. Oh and I'd love for Boar and Shannon to get a book. This is Shaker and Keegan's story and Holy Crap the suspense is intense and at times the excitement had me alittle breathless trying to read faster so I could find out what was gonna happen next. Their relationship may have started out as a lie but underneath it all it was still obvious that Shaker had feelings for Keegan he was just scared. The things Keegan had to endure from Lawrence was crrrazy! That man is a psycho and so is Hensley and his son Preston. Gabriella is adorable. When her and Ranger nickname Shaker I was cracking up. When the secrets of Keegan's mother come out I have to say I was shocked. I did not see that coming. At times my heart was breaking for Shaker because of his past with women. It almost made him miss out on a lifetime of happiness. I'm beginning to think all the men of the Blackwing's MC like to get rough and smokin hot with their Old Ladies. Shaker and Keegan did not disappoint. WOW! I EXTREMELY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES TO EVERYONE! I can't wait for more. And can I just add the model on the cover is set your crotch on fire SMOKIN HOT!😄

I liked Shaker he was a fair enough guy and character. I thought he was good at defending Keegan but also good to stand up for himself too, he wasn't afraid in the end to say if something bothered him and even opened up about the would be rape.

I liked Shaker he was a fair enough guy and character. I thought he was good at defending Keegan but also good to stand up for himself too, he wasn't afraid in the end to say if something bothered him and even opened up about the would be rape.

Amazing
Seriously this series keeps getting better. I loved this book so much. Shaker is definitely one of my favorite brothers. I cannot wait for more. This author hit it out of the park wirh this one

4 1/2 stars! Action packed with great chemistry
I do NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. It is part of a series that contains multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe / world building, overlapping / concurrent timelines and overarching themes.

There are very few grammatical issues primarily comprised of incorrect word choice and tense, punctuation errors, missed words and extra inserted words. There were also a few transition issues. Such as one scene where Shaker, aka Jacob, said he needed to ask Keegan something, but he never left, sent a text or placed a phone call. It just immediately went to the supposed response. Not a big deal in the long term, but it was just enough that I had to stop because there was something missing.
I still miss the descriptions of the characters, but at least this time Teagan Brooks did include that Shaker had multiple piercings even though we only know the location of one of them. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors like the one mentioned above interrupt the flow.
In this story, Keegan works on the farm and has been in a few of the previous stories, but more on the periphery. She has a dream of one day opening her own farm for breeding and training horses. In the interim, Keegan is just trying to learn as much as she can from Duke and deal with her step-father so she can stay close and see her young sister.
Keegan celebrated with the ladies at the Clubhouse the night before and ended up oversleeping, which meant that she needed to take desperate measures the next morning. Her step-father, Lawrence, was a US Senator and the bane of her existence. He constantly demeans her and demands that their “family” portray the perfect image to the public. Keegan doesn’t even want to imagine what he will demand since she was late, so that is how she found herself puncturing her own front tire and running down the road toward his mansion.
Shaker has managed to keep the two sides of his life separate. He knows that Phoenix and Byte has to be aware about his family, even though he hasn’t told them. Shaker’s history with gold diggers has caused him to distrust pretty much all females and that was before he was kidnapped by Hilarie / Valarie (previous story).
He was in a long term relationship and his girlfriend was pregnant. They had talked about getting married after the baby was born. Then she went into labor and it was very clear that the baby boy was not Shaker’s child. Then he joined the Blackwings MC and had a club “girl” claim she was pregnant with his baby. When he caught her downing shots at the bar, she claimed that she had an abortion since he didn’t want it.
After a blood test revealed she was never pregnant, she admitted that she found out about his family and just wanted money. Shaker was done with women … he wasn’t doing anything with anyone that could even remotely result in another pregnancy. That was 5 years ago and before he found a female on the side of the road. Keegan was unresponsive and in bad shape and Shaker found himself feeling protective and worried about her.
Nope, not going down the road again … then Shaker goes to return her wallet later that evening and finds her in even worse shape …
