The #1 bestselling study Bible is now available in the English Standard Version (ESV), the best word-for-word literal translation of the Bible in contemporary English.
The word-for-word accuracy, literary excellence, and depth of meaning found in the ESV text alongside the teaching of Dr. David Jeremiah creates a dynamic, easy to understand Bible that focuses on the complete biblical message and what it says, what it means, and what it means for you. The result is THE JEREMIAH STUDY BIBLE: ESV that can be read and used by all Christians who want to grow in their faith by going deeper into God's Word.
Dr. David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, felt God’s calling on his life at a very early age. Born February 13, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Jeremiah was raised in a family deeply committed to ministry. At the age of eleven, Dr. Jeremiah and his family moved to Dayton, Ohio where his father, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, was the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and in 1953 became the President of Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio.
As Dr. Jeremiah was sensitive to God’s leading in his life, he followed in his father’s footsteps. In 1963, Dr. Jeremiah received a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville College. In that same year, Dr. Jeremiah married his college sweetheart, Donna Thompson who also was attending Cedarville College as a business major. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967. He completed additional graduate work at Grace University and was granted the Doctor of Divinity degree from Cedarville College in 1981.
In 1969, Dr. Jeremiah began Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and developed a Christian school grades K through 12. In the 12 years he served as pastor, Blackhawk Baptist Church grew from 7 families to 1300 members. He also launched The Bible Hour television program.
Dr. Jeremiah heeded God’s call, and in 1981 he and his family moved to California where he became the senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now Shadow Mountain Community Church.
Shadow Mountain Community Church is one of the largest churches in San Diego County. It is also the home of Southern California Seminary and Christian Unified Schools.
As Dr. Jeremiah began his ministry at Shadow Mountain, he felt God’s calling to continue the broadcast ministry he started in Fort Wayne. In 1982, Turning Point Ministries became a reality.
Today, Turning Point's 30-minute radio program is heard nationally and internationally on over 1800 stations and translator/satellators. In recognition of Dr. Jeremiah’s commitment to teaching the Word of God, he received the Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1999 from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), in August 2002, received the Award of Merit from the Western Chapter of National Religious Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting and Faithfulness in Service, and in 2006 Turning Point received the Best Radio Teaching Program Award. Dr. Jeremiah has served on the Board of Directors for the NRB since 1996.
Turning Point launched a television program in 1982 in San Diego and went nationwide in 2000. Now seen around the world through cable and satellite technology, as well as on terrestrial stations all across the United States, conservative estimates suggest that close to 200 million homes around the world have access to Dr. Jeremiah's Bible teaching each week. Turning Point Television offers a half-hour Bible study message and a full hour worship service with the same great preaching. Carried on several national and international networks such as TBN, ION, and INSP, Turning Point Television has most recently been added to Middle East TV Network and BET, the Black Entertainment Network.
Dr. Jeremiah is a sought-after conference speaker for organizations around the country. He frequently speaks at Cedarville College, Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Billy Graham Training Center, Phil Waldrep’s Senior Adult Celebrations and numerous NFL, NBA and Baseball chapels.
Along with his speaking schedule around the country, Dr. Jeremiah also finds time to fulfill another passion in his life, writing. His books are always gripping and right to the point. Some of his books include Escape the Coming Night, The Power of Encouragement, What the Bible Says About Angels, Prayer The Great Adventure, which brought him The Gold Medallion Award in 1998, God In You, Gifts from God
The Jeremiah Study Bible is enclosed in a gray leather bound book covering Psalms and Proverbs. Psalms was written by King David and Proverbs was written by Solomon. Jeremiah uses the English Standard Version of the Bible in this book. He begins the book by writing a welcome letter to readers. He describes his background of his father being a pastor and his mother helping to live it out in their home. When his father passed, he was gifted sermon notes and his Bibles. Dr. David Jeremiah has been in ministry for over 40 years. Before each book, he included introductions to assist readers in learning the background of how they were written and the timeframe. He also breaks it down until “what it says, what it means, and what it means for you”. He encouraged readers to read, medicate, explore the themes in the books, and join a Bible study to dig in deeper. Throughout the book, it contained sidebars such as, “picture this, historically speaking, fyi, tough questions, and reflection”. It also has essentials of the Christian throughout the book and footnotes on helping readers to understand what they are reading. There are many encouraging scriptures in these two books of the Bible. They both cover themes such as, joy coming in the morning, the steadfast love of God, God is our deliverer, worshiping our Creator, the value of discovering wisdom, speaking life giving words, the woman who fears God, and much more. This is also some special online resources and this includes videos, audio, and additional reading material.
I would recommend this amazing study Bible to anyone who is ready to grow in their relationship with Christ and they are ready to seek wisdom. I immensely like how Dr. David Jeremiah included special introductions and he went into details about what all this means for us and how we can apply daily to our everyday lives. Psalms and Proverbs is probably one of the two biggest books of the Bible people look for when they are seeking wisdom for their circumstances and they both provide comfort and encouragement. I liked how he included helpful footnotes to explain certain key points of scriptures. I enjoyed reading the verses and obtaining the wisdom we can learn from each page. I liked how the book was a nice size and it’s easy to carry around. If you’re looking for a new study Bible on these chapters, then read this book!
"I received this book free from the publisher, Faithwords for my honest review.”
“The Jeremiah Study Bible: Psalms and Proverbs presents the best of biblical insight along with clear, practical application to bring about authentic transformation in your life,” the back jacket states on Dr. David Jeremiah’s new book.
~ What ~ At two-hundred-and-eight-pages, this thin leather-bound collection targets men and women seeking a read of the complete book of Psalms and Proverbs with study notes. Using the English Standard Version of the Holy Bible, all chapters of the two books are included with introductions, underlining verses, notes, and highlighted topics. The author’s welcome page, ways to study, and introduction are at the beginning.
Focusing only on the two iconic books from the Old Testament, added highlights throughout involve topics of Picture This, FYIs, Historically Speaking, For Reflection, Teaching Points, Tough Questions, and Essentials of the Christian Faith.
~Why ~ I have always enjoyed reading these two books written mostly by King David and his son, Solomon, as there are ample depth and teaching in them that can be used in our daily walk with the Lord. With the book being leather-bound, it makes a lovely bedside table book that can be picked up and read often.
One of the inserts I appreciated was an FYI titled The Royal Psalms regarding Psalms 93 to 99, reminding us how the poems celebrate God and a King and describe His rule. Another favorite was Picture This: The Price of Immortality regarding how several verses in Proverbs contain word pictures correlating to living life realistically.
~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not appreciate this read. This is not an in-depth devotional but mainly the two books of the Bible with minor commentary and inserts so would not be apropos for a Bible study. Some may not care for the referred Bible version.
~ Wish ~ Not a fan of the ESV, I wish other Bible versions were offered in this beautiful gift book. It would be helpful to include an attached page ribbon marker.
~ Want ~ If you are looking for a classy gift for someone special who loves reading the Psalms and Proverbs, this makes a thoughtful choice if you like the ESV.

I have watched Dr. David Jeremiah on TV for many years. I always appreciate his Bible wisdom and how he tells a story in his sermons. I was excited to get a copy of The Jeremiah Study Bible: Psalms and Proverbs edition.
The Psalms and Proverbs edition of The Jeremiah Study Bible is in an easy-to-carry-around size at a little over 5 by 8 inches. It comes in the English Standard Version and has an elegantly bond durable cover that I think is leather. Inside it is a mix of dark easy to read print and red letter for heading and Book introduction written by Dr. David Jeremiah. At the bottom of each page are study notes and there is also some cross referencing. Side Bars are also prolific throughout the book and full of good information like Why do bad things happen to Believers?, Why we should praise God, Why pray? Along with the Scriptures, Dr. David Jeremiah gives a lot of food for thought in these short blurbs.
I like this two-book edition of The Jeremiah Study Bible a lot. It was just so easy to pick it up and read from it these past couple of weeks. It is easy to carry along and put in a book bag and it is full of good information for those who like the teachings of David Jeremiah. This is one book that I will keep and use for years to come.

After using this Bible resource, you will probably want to invest in the full version. In addition to the answers to tough questions and reflections, the Jeremiah Study Bible also offers online resources not included, such as video clips and articles.
The larger print makes it easier to read but doesn't add to the size of the book. Carry it in your purse, briefcase or keep it at your desk. If you enjoy Dr. Jeremiah's teachings, you will love the insights he put into this new Bible.

The Jeremiah Study Bible: Psalms and Proverbs English Standard Version (ESV) is really pretty. The mottled gray leather is soft bound and the decorative design and lettering on the cover is embossed giving it an elegant look.
The book includes 6 suggested ways to study Psalms and Proverbs, along with helpful and engaging questions, touching points, FYI sections, etc.
I normally see collections of Psalms and Proverbs in small pocket format, but this approx. 6” x 9” size is a nice size for bedside reading.
#StudyBible #FirstWords I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.
What a beautiful gray, faux leather book! A study Bible with two of my favorite Old Testament books. Psalms and Proverbs. Dr. Jeremiah, a master of The Word, leads us in the study with these three premises: What It Says What It Means What It Means For You There really isn't much to say except this, "If you are a student of The Bible, you will want this little beauty in your library."
