Most men would run from a woman with a gun.

Not me. I wanted her the moment I saw her.

To make her mine, I must learn two things.

First? Her secrets.

Second? When to duck.

Lincoln James knew the moment he laid eyes on Dee she was different from any woman he’d ever met. Sure, she was beautiful and sexy. Also, fierce, snarky, and completely uninterested in anything he had to offer.

Dee Wakefield had Lincoln figured out the second she saw him. A pretty boy athlete with the world at his feet, he thought all he had to do was smile and she would melt like every woman before her. Wrong! Dee built a protective wall around her emotions out of necessity, and she wasn’t about to let anyone in. Especially not a charmer like Lincoln James.

Linc knows Dee is the only woman for him. He’s in for the fight of his life. However, he learned long ago nothing worth having ever comes easy.

I love books, I always have and always will. Writing is an extension of that and though it has taken me a while to get here, I now can officially call myself a published author.
I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Washington, so I wanted to set my books on the Columbia River in Washington state. Harper Falls is completely fictitious, but I think anyone from the area will know right where it would be if it did exist.
My hobbies are gardening, reading, baking(fattening desserts are my favorite), exercise(I don't love it, but it is necessary due to the desserts), and animals. I had a dog but when he died I couldn't bring myself to replace him. That is why I wrote Edgar, the dog into "If I Loved You", I consider him my surrogate puppy until I can get a real one.
I love to get feedback on my books so I hope everyone will feel free to leave a question or visit my website(it is a work in progress, but I'm getting there).
My Facebook page is up and running, please stop by for a look and a like.

Six Days by Mary J. Williams is the latest in her Sisters Quartet series and I think it is her best story to date. I really enjoyed reading about Dee, the private investigator, and friend of the Benedict sisters and Linc, a handsome tennis pro. Could it be love at first sight for both of them? Dee isn’t one to keep men around for very long and Linc has a history of one night stands. How will two people with no long term relationship history make this work? I recommend you read and find out. When I find a book I can’t put down, I am in a happy place.

Born with a streak of uncontrollable crazy, Dee carried a soft spot in her heart for the girl she used to be. She grew up loved and cared for in a nice, middle-class neighborhood, with nice parents, and a nice older brother. She loved her family, honestly and wholeheartedly. But she never quite fit into the life they were content to live.

Dee admired her mother’s single-mindedness—the one trait they had in common. A respected private investigator, with a hard-earned reputation and well-padded bank account to her credit, she earned the right to pick her cases and clients with care. She enjoyed the perks provided by a healthy bank account. The ability to take care of her monthly bills without a second thought. To see the stunned expression on her father’s face, the tears in her mother’s eyes, when she handed them the deed to their house, mortgage-free for the first time, and the seed money she loaned her brother so he could quit a job he hated and open his own auto repair shop

She’s an ex-Navy, gun toting, tattooed, private investigator. She’d walked away—from the Navy, from the life she’d built, the career she loved and almost died in the process at the hands of her violent, alcoholic ex after taunting her and when she had no alternative but to request a transfer. He attacked and shot her, leaving her for dead. She awakened in the hospital, an inch one way or the other would have meant paralysis or death. Turned out she was accused of being the aggressor, not the victim. Three different witnesses came forward and claimed she was obsessed with Marcus and wouldn’t leave him alone even after he broke up with her.

She felt at home with the Benedict sisters, Andi, Calder, Bryce, and Destry...they accepted her unconditionally, warts, snark, tattoos, and all. They embraced her and become her surrogate family. They accepted her and never had unrealistic expectations.

Lincoln is a tennis athlete well recognised for his hot-headed on-court tantrums and off-court sexual conquests than anything else.
“Dee’s a good friend.”
“Then, you should want her to have the best.”
“Someday, a woman is going to let the air out of your ego,” Adam warned as his lips curved into an evil smile. “I can’t wait.”
Lincoln liked his relationships light and drama free. No strings, no expectations, no heavy conversations about the past or the future. If Dee Wakefield had secrets—and who didn’t—she was welcome to keep them to herself.

Lincoln James was irresistible—roguishly handsome and easy on the eyes. A crazy delusional stalker believes he belongs with her amid restraining orders, security detail and secrets to reveal.

Refreshing to read about a woman of forty-two that discovers romance on her own terms without being defined by her age.

Independent, no nonsense and tough as nails. That's Dee Wakefield. She was somehow melded into the lives of the Benedict sisters and is now considered part of the family in almost every way. Which is how she finds herself the object of Linc James' focus throughout the night at their New Year's Eve Party. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her, and when he finally introduced himself and asked her out ... she turned him down flat. Like most athletes, though, Linc has an unstoppable competitive nature. He enjoyed the challenge she presented and didn't give up. Eventually he won and they both ended up with the prize, which was a happily ever after, of course.

Dee is a tough as nails private investigator and doesn't want a relationship. Linc is a professional tennis player who never gives up. When Dee flat out refuses anything to do with him, Linc takes that as a challenge and goes for the win! Linc can be a patient man when necessary. When Dee finally decides to take a chance, they find they have much in common. Can Dee heal from the past and learn to trust her heart...and a man...again?

This was the 6th book of a wonderful series. I really enjoyed Dee's story, as she has become part of the Benedict family.

Dee has been a vital side character throughout the Sister’s Quartet series of books and I was happy to see that she warranted her own book. Although brusque on the outside, Dee is all gooey on the inside and it is going to take a special man to be able to access that core. Lincoln is just the man to break through Dee’s defences and show her that not all men are the same. Opposites do attract and these two have off the charts chemistry. There were a couple of chuckle worthy moments and the sweet mixed with the angst that Mary J. Williams is known for.

Dee & Lincoln *Swoon* what a fantastic couple!

Dee Wakefield is the badass P.I. who carries a gun and a tough as nails attitude. Her past is something I was very much interested in ever since she made her appearance in this series. As I suspected, the story behind Dee Wakefield is heartbreaking and you understand much better where she is coming from and why she doesn’t trust anyone especially men. I love that she was able to endear herself to the Benedict clan. She has truly become a part of the family. In a moment of drunken weakness, she confides in them what happened to her and they, in true Benedict fashion, gather around her and support their “sister”.

Lincoln James is a star tennis player, handsome, famous, rich and HOT! What’s not to like, until he meets Dee at a New Year’s Eve party held by the Benedicts. She doesn’t seem to be interested in anything having to do with Lincoln. In fact, she seems to not even respect his status as an “athlete”. Instead of being discouraged by her attitude, Lincoln seems to be more intrigued by her. So intrigued, in fact, that he wants to pursue her further. Let the games begin.
I absolutely loved this story, no surprise there. I especially like that Lincoln doesn’t even flinch when Dee gives him attitude. He rather enjoys the challenge. Amid trust issues, stalker issues and other secrets that lie underneath, Linc and Dee manage to connect in ways that surprise them both. Dee realizes that there’s more to Lincoln than meets the eye. Together, they complement each other rather nicely.

As usual, I love the appearance of all the Benedicts and Iris, OMG Iris is awesome. What a whirlwind that girl is. She’s going to give them a run for their money. I enjoy these stories so much. I don’t want to say goodbye.

Mary J Williams knows how to capture the attention of her readers. I have read all of Ms Williams series and The Sisters Quartet is by far the best series she has written. The sisters are so down to earth and the love they have for one another draws the reader in. I only wish that I had the same rapport with my own sister as these girls have with one another. The love between them all are so overwhelming that it flows over to Dee, the PI the girls have hired to help them out with an issue that kept being a pain in their backside. This book concentrates on Dee and her story with Linc, a professional Tennis player. I absolutely love the banter and sexual tension between them. I love the characters and the way they developed throughout the books and series. You will not find a better writer than Mary J Williams. She can out write many of the popular writers Danielle Steel and Nora Roberts to name two of what used to be my favourites. Can’t wait until the next book/series starts.

In this latest story of the series titled, The Sisters Quartet, the story belongs to Dee Wakefield, a PI, youngest of the Wakefield siblings, and long time friend of the Benedict sisters.
Lincoln James, is a playboy and number one ranked tennis player. Women fall at his feet with only one look.
These two meet at a New Year’s party and though the attraction is there, hey, he’s a playboy and she is an attractive woman, Dee has not desire to get involved.
But fate has a different agenda. Watching these two strong characters interact was at times sweet and funny.
Another well written story by Ms. Williams, in which the characters are strong individuals and the plot is engaging.
I was entrusted a copy of this book . The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Like all books by Mrs. Williams, this one is addictive, too.
It was fantastic to meet old acquaintances again, to enjoy the humorous characters.
Ms. Williams has her very own writing style, an unique way to bring her protagonists to life, leaving me baffled time and again.

Dee, like all her female protagonists is a strong and tough woman, not least because of her past experiences.
Lincoln is her easygoing, handsome and charming counterpart, trying to win her trust…

This is a charming yet thrilling story with some tricky twists that captured me with the first page and never let me go til the end.

And it is the bittersweet goodbye to the Benedict sisters, unless little Iris will get her own story some day!

I absolutely loved Dee and Lincoln's story. Dee has been in the background of the other sister stories and I love that she finally got her own story. She always presents herself as a no nonsense, tough girl and I really enjoyed watching Linc break through her shell. I so hope that Mary Williams continues this series. This book was an awesome read and I highly recommend it. Keeping my fingers crossed that there is another Sister Quartet character book in the near future.

I loved this book and series. I’m hoping that Mary J. Williams finds a way to continue this series, I really didn’t want it to end. I would love to see what happens to the Benedict sisters and Dee in the future. I like this authors writing so much that I’m going to read her other series’s. This book is terrific!

Another well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. I loved that Dee finally got her story told and how she fits into the Benedict sisters lives. Dee suffered a life she has wanted to get past and until she meets Linc hasn't told anyone except for the sisters what she has had to deal with. I just loved reading this series.

I received an ARC and the views and opinions are my own. This was an enjoyable read. You got to know Dee Wakefield and hear her full story. I really like Lincoln James, he was a good match for Dee. Love doesn't come easy but it does come. I would recommend this book and this series.

Dee Wakefield is a private investigator who was present in the prior books of The Sisters Quartet. She became a close friend of the Benedict sisters through her actions in trying to stop them from being harmed in earlier stories. As this story begins, Dee is at a New Year’s Eve party at the Benedict mansion, and a strange guy is staring at her. He’s a handsome guy, but he won’t look away. Dee is wary because of an event in her past. She doesn’t trust the good-looking, smooth-talking guys she meets, because they often cover up smarmy personalities. When they do meet later that evening, Dee gives him the brush-off. Lincoln James is a world-renowned tennis player, and is intrigued and wants to know more, but is warned off by two of his friends. Nevertheless, he perseveres and shows Dee through his actions that he is a decent person and a hard-working athlete worth getting to know.

Dee is tough. She has had to become tough after certain events in her past caused her to rethink her career and her trust in her friends. She doesn’t let people into her inner circle easily, and has an abrasive personality at times. Linc is able to smooth some of her rough edges and show her that trust is possible. There are some suspenseful moments in this story, as there is a fan stalker involved. There are also some snarky comments and interactions that are fun to read, as well as some beautiful moments with the sisters and their significant others. The pacing is perfect for this story, and the interactions between the various characters are realistically written. The conflicts between and within the two main protagonists are clearly defined and understood. There is much to like about this book and in the entire series. This book is well worth reading!

Strong. Woman.

That phrase describes Dee Wakefield to a ‘T’. She does not suffer fools lightly and is not impressed with Lincoln ‘Linc’ James, a playboy tennis player who is not accustomed to being ‘shot down’ by a lovely woman.

Dee and Linc are a perfect couple…perfectly flawed. Both of them have issues. Stalker issues, trust issues, self-esteem issues, fawning fan issues. They have to work out their issues to be able to come together. Is this possible? They seem to be too far apart on so many things. With the help of the Benedict sisters can these two be brought together?

After following Dee through the other books in this series, it was so nice to learn a little about her background and her attitude. She'd been kind of a mystery woman until now.

It was fabulous seeing the Benedict sisters and their significant others once again. I’m so hoping this isn’t the end of the Benedict Sisters era...let’s skip ahead and see what happens with Iris.

This is an absolutely lovely series. The books are all stand alone, but there is more continuity if you read them all in order. That’s not a requirement, but a recommendation! Just read this series. You’ll be glad you did.

The inclusion of "Six Days" to The Sisters Wedding series provided a strong and conclusive finish to the series. Reading this series has been a fun adventure which took us across country and playing on a private island. We got to know the sisters, their mother, their lovers and now we were invited into the life of their friend Dee and the one man who completed her life like no other, Link.
As usual, author Mary J Williams opened her heart and talents in this story which gave us the to the tantalizing conclusion of another epic series. From the first page to the last I was enthralled, as if I were right there in the story with them. A must read for those who enjoy a good mystery and a great romance!

I have read all of the Sisters Quartet books and was so glad to have Dee warrant her own book. All of the characters were well written and had depth of character - which I look for in any book. I was pulled in from the first page and read the book straight through. It is definitely worth the read, and I was sorry to see it end.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review and that is what you have here.

I was so excited to get Dee's story and it didn't disappoint.

Dee met her match in Lincoln and wat a match they were. I love Dee's sure fire confidence and Lincoln was a strong enough man to compliment her character.

Again Mary J Williams has given us a true romance without all the back and forth drama some books have.

Definitely worth a read x

I’ve been intrigued with Dee since she was introduced in the other books and am glad she got her own book. Watching Linc and Dee verbal sparing was like watching a tennis match... see what I did there 🤣. I wanted to too who would come up on top. Dee’s back story was sad and wish major bad karma on Marcus but I’m happy she found Linc.
