“I don’t want to hurt you again.”
A hint of a smile turned up Viper’s lips.
“Then don’t ever fucking leave me.”
“Never.”
Viper lowered his head until his lips were on mine and whispered, “Never?”
I nodded, ran my hand down his neck to his chest, and laid my palm over his heart.
“Not ever.”
“I’ll never get tired of seeing this face looking at me. Especially the way you’re looking at me now.”
“How am I looking at you?” I asked, but with the way my heart felt close to bursting, I already knew the answer to that.
“With your heart in your eyes, Angel. With your heart in your beautiful eyes.”
He’s mine. Somehow this beautiful man had chosen me, and, miracle of all miracles, I’d chosen him back. Despite telling myself for years that I didn’t need anyone, I’d somehow fallen without warning for Halo. He’d hit me with the force of a speeding train, and now I was powerless to stop what had been inevitable since the first time I laid eyes on him.
“You’re better than good at this, Viper. I never imagined that someone could love me with such passion, such…intensity. You took every idea I had of love, and what it would be like for me, and replaced it with something I could never have even fathomed. How did you do that?”
"Angel, if tonight was my last night here on earth, even heaven couldn't fucking top this."

“He only looks like an angel,” Killian said. “He’s been properly corrupted since joining the band.”
“Don’t worry, okay? They’re gonna love you.”
“They’re gonna think I corrupted you,” he muttered. “Forced you to join a rock band, sing filthy songs, and stay chained to my bed.”
“Well…I mean, you did.”
“I need you, Angel.” His warm breath ghosted over my lips, and I opened my mouth to breathe him in.
“Then take me. I'm yours.”

He might’ve been mine, that was true. But it had never been clearer than in that moment that I was forever going to be his.
He wanted to play by the rules, huh? Well, there was one thing I knew about rules: they were made to be broken.
If Viper wanted to see me fly, then I was going to fucking soar, because I knew when I fell back to earth, he’d be right there to catch me.

“I don’t understand why you pretend to be such a hard-ass. Why you don’t date. There are millions of guys who’d die to be sitting where I’m sitting tonight if they had the chance.”
I glanced at Halo’s striking profile, and when the wind ruffled the hair around his face, I said, “I don’t want a million guys. I want the one who’s already here.”

Was this what it felt like to love someone? To share a connection so powerful it could devastate you while also making you feel more alive than you’d ever been?Viper has proclaimed his love for Halo in front of the entire world. Halo has to come out to his family and Viper has to learn what love actually is. This story feels like one big mushy love-fest. I really enjoyed it!
