наскільки ж цікава експозиція з розповіддю історії 100літної війни. наскільки ж жахлива вся книжка з гіперболізованими, постійно повторюваним бредовими історіями. ладно придумані, так вони же ще й скучні. постійно читача надо тикнуть носом в те господі яке це чудо, вона проста простушка, така проста простушка! як це можливо госсподі! вона така простушка, проста проста простушка але це чудо...

This book sets the stage for this remarkable story by explaining that Joan was an uneducated peasant girl, the lowest class of humanity in France at the time. Her story begins in the Lancastrian War (1415 - 1453) of the Hundred Year's War. This was the final era, when Henry V of England invaded Normandy until the English were defeated in Aquitaine.

Joan is the patron saint of France because of her role in the siege of Orleans. She also was instrumental in the coronation of Charles VII and French king during these troubled times. Joan claimed to be acting under divine guidance by the visions from the archangel Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret. She was the guiding force behind the French troops saving their country from English domination.

Rarely do I mention the narrator, but this time I feel compelled to mention Randy Whitlow. He did a superb job (with some excellent material) by his enthusiastic reading. I felt like a participant, not just a reader. I will be looking for more books with this narrator.

Immersive and lucid - packed with action in middle chapters

The story was very clear and without a doubt Joan of Arc is a great heroine of the time. Felt rushed in middle chapters and a little towards the end. Every detail of her life and lifestyle is well captured, however the trail needs to be more clear it lacked details. But again the author did a fine work in projecting Saint Joan's sacrifice and her bold attitude. Perhaps a detailed map would be of great help. Wonderful quick peek into Saint Joan's life.

CAPTIVATING HAGIOLOGY

The tale is told of a devout French girl who follows an ancient promise and spiritual voices during a later phase of The Hundred Years’ War as a saviour, martyr and saint. Best read uncritically as a life of a Catholic saint, the story cannot be called history, although it covers in.chronological detail the events involved.

Reads like a novel

Here in a short two books you get a synopsis of a period in history that could have changed the world. Well written and full of facts, pictures and easy to read. I could have used some maps. I highly recommend as an introduction to an important period of history that is fun to read
