A very solid four stars. Overall, I enjoyed most of the stories. Some were favored over others as you`ll be able to tell from my reviews. I get that some of them are quite short but some of them managed to pull me in... * * Phoenix and Siren by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk Short and sweet. * * Wish by CJ Beaumont & April Canavan I've enjoyed several stories featuring Succubi and it was nice to have one featuring an Incubus. I would love to see how the girls handle Mel now that she has come into her own in every way. Also, Darius, YAS!! * * * Missing Lion`s Roar by Daniella Clark That was cute. Little silly. Oh Alexander... I do love the excess of felines shifter. Usually it`s all about the wolf and dog and maybe one or two felines. Definitely wouldn't mind meeting our four boys- Ben the liger, Leo the lion (how unfortunate), Ted the panther, and Bill the leopard. Plus, our MC boss lady the lynx. * * Merqueen by Heather Marie Adkins OMG yes!! This was not your typical retelling. Our mermaid is actually a badass warrior queen and our "prince" is nothing like one. A hard working man, with a supernatural gift who is taken aback by the strength of a mermaid or the lengths she`ll go for her people. I honestly wish this could be turned into a longer story, or at least have one sequel about some other enemy- maybe bring humans more into the fold since the merfolk try to keep their distance... what if they didn`t have a choice? Or seeing if the different clans can mange to actually live in peace, uneasy at first, but learning to gain back their magik and help their people thrive instead of living for war. Point is, I WANT MORE!! * * * A Brutal Pink by Liza Street Short and sweet. Loved the banter between Emily and Logan. * * There`s a Full Moon Out Tonight by Candace Sams That was weird and a little predictable. Respect the land and it`ll provide; don`t and it`ll find a way to make you... * * Make Me Howl by Brantwijn Serrah That was... damn. For lack of a better phrase- fuck. me. Holy hell that was hot, but what else do you expect of an Alpha? * * * Immortal Beginnings by Elena Gray & Kelli McCraken Alright yes. That was great. Bit too much of Mike, asshole. Kinda hope the vamp or wolf eat him... that`d be great!! Also, Trevor, yum. Thinking he`s the wolf keeping an eye on Claire, his fated mate, I`m guessing. * * Grand Deviance by Sarah Zolton Arthur Understood that the piano captured souls of the young and beautiful women to give Satan his fun. Very weird. Personally, little confused and not a favorite. * * Christmas Moments by Valia Lind That was cute and I am living for Whitney`s red battle magic! Get it! * * Just One Dance by JS Bright & Holly Holston First off, love that title. Just one dance, and they got it :) That was a nice story and I wouldn`t mind reading more about Wendy and Layton`s mated adventures! * * Swan Song by Erica Gerald Mason (bonus story from the chaos & curses dark fairy tales That was... different. Interesting. Dark. * * A Flock of Omens by Angelique Arme (prequel to a flock of darkness) I am all for the Morrigan ancestry and THREE Raven shifter mates - yes sir. Shifters are typically the main creatures we humans wish we could become, even if they`re mythical, like dragons, griffons, etc. I love some Fae war battlegrounds and have discovered a love of ravens from other Fae stories with them. * * * Stolen Moments by Keira Blackwood Time travel and vampires... that`s a new one for me. Cute. * * Demon Beauty by Shelique Lize I am here for Kyra and Marek!! I love half demon/whatevers, dark & mysterious bad boy, with an all power consuming Demon Lord and the threat of demons against humanity. Good times. *

This is a collection of paranormal stories. These are prequels but most are stand-alone stories that include all manner of paranormals, including time travelers. I enjoyed them all and most of them leave me wanting to read more by the author. The book has a good selection of stories, showcasing each author's literary skill. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary. The stories are well-written and I will definitely look for full-length books by the authors.
As with any anthology, there were some good stories and some so-so stories. I especially enjoyed Wish by April Canavan and CJ Beaumont, which was about a witch coming into her powers. The other story I liked was Just One Dance by Holly Holston and JS Bright, about two co-workers who fight their attraction because of secrets in their past. Overall, I would buy other books from these authors.
It is very obvious that no one reviewed these stories for grammar or spelling errors. The last story reads like it was written by someone just learning English. Some of the stories are pretty good if you can get past all the bloopers. I had to quit reading three chapters into the last story. Too many errors to stand.
I think that about summarizes this collection!!! Wish I had read this set first but didn't detract from my enjoyment for each and every tale. There is every type of story you could want to read, with adventure and romance, heat of every type, heart warming and heart racing...and some fantastic introductions to new sets and new authors! Thank you to all of them that put this set together xx
