Lola Darling is a romantic with a naughty side. Born and raised in Texas, she's a lover of lip gloss, a Star Wars junkie and full time book nerd.
When not writing steamy, smutty novels, she can be found playing with her cute and cuddly Rottweiler, Rocky, or spoiling her eight adorable nieces and nephews rotten.
This is a forbidden romance for the record books. Even though Harper was breaking the rules, I was desperate for her to continue. I'm pretty sure none of my professors were ever as hot as Jack, but if they were...HOT FUCK, I would have covered that faster than a burst highlighter.
Seriously though, you think that this book is going to be sneaking and suspicion and awful angst, but I didn't feel that way. Lola writes in such a way that makes me support the characters and shake them when they're being idiotic. Yes, they need to keep their relationship a secret, but there's so much more going on beyond that fact.
Jack is a complicated man who doesn't let any woman in blindly. He knows the risks - he's just willing to take them. He's willing to risk everything because he just can't stay away. That first scene between the two of them is out of control hot - it's just as erotic and deviant as the rest of the book but neither party even knows the other at that point. Forgive me Jack, for I have sinned. ;)
Harper isn't exactly a pushover. She has her plans and they absolutely do not include falling in love with her professor. They definitely don't involve changing her life or being a secret. Again. But she also can't stay away. She and Jack are like magnets: sparking to life, pulling one to the other.
Ahhhhhh Let's all take a moment to thank Lola for giving us material to inspire our next wet dream. Teach Me is dirty, filthy fun - I'm more than happy to become the teacher's pet. 5 stars!

This second time around I had a lot more niggles with the story so I've lowered my rating to 4 stars.
Original review
Having just finished this I'm left feeling like a big squishy pile of mush. This book, THIS BOOK RIGHT HERE is what more student/teacher stories should be like.
It just had the perfect mix or chemistry, tension, sex, romance and character development. I absolutely loved Jack, he was just so .... Dreamy
And yes okay I ultimately knew what would happen along the way, BUT that didn't take anything away from this story. It was full of passion and love. Even if the student/teacher story isn't your thing, you should give this one a go - it's a beautiful romance that will leave you swooning.
This is my first Lola Darling book and I have to say...I'll be going back in for more. The chemistry between Harper and Jack was so hot at times my fingers literally burned (as well as a few things south of the border). The plot line was solid and fun, the writing spot-on, the characters well developed. I laughed, I panted, I got sucked in and enjoyed every single word.
OH M GEEEE.... Gah..... I'm swooning... Oh my, I honestly think I'm in love. Forgive me father for I have sinned and I DO NOT CARE. I want more. I LOVED this. Teach me is super sexy, sensual, stunning and OH. SO. HOT. This book is one you will really need to read while near a cold shower. Or in one, if possible. Jack Kingston.... Professor Kingston... The utterly delicious, sinful, forbidden fruit with a poetic, dirty mouth...yum! He's just yum! I honestly could not get enough. And if that's not enough for you well then here's something else.... he's BRITISH. Now being a Brit myself it was refreshing to read a book that featured places and English things that I know and love and Lola wrote them incredibly well. I agree Yorkshire Puddings are soooo good! In fact, this whole book is wrote to an impeccably high standard. Lola has a wicked way with words, a way that kept me well and truly hooked while I devoured Teach Me in its entirety never stopping once. Mainly because I didn't want to stop. From the offset, the characters are easy to connect to, they engrain themselves within you. Their relationship is full of heat and passion, love and lust but it's when it develops into more, that Teach Me really blossoms, leading to a truly beautiful ending to round off a truly, bloody brilliant book!
Hot Hot Hot!! Oh, Lola Darling... you dirty dirty girl! I started Teach Me late Friday night and finished on Saturday... I just couldn't put it down! Teach Me isn't just hot dirty teacher/student sex.. it's full of emotion and passion that struggle as well. Lola really upped her game with this book. I felt the characters angst, their struggle, their want. There are some cliches found in the student/teacher trope that Lola managed to avoid, and I loved her for that. I, of course, can't tell you what they are, because that would spoilerish. Trust me when I say that Lola made sure Teach Me stands out amongst the crowd!
I swoon. British charm, poetry, accented professor with dominate tendencies, I mean, COME ON. What more could you want? This novel will have you screaming, Teach ME, Teach ME, TEACH ME, Professor Kingston!
Harper Reed is a poetry major heading off to Oxford to study abroad. With the quaint countryside and irresistible accented men why would you go anywhere else? A chance encounter leaves her breathless and wanting to know more about that phenomenal, er, kisser.
Professor Jack Kingston is the most delicious, and dirtiest, professor you will ever meet. Tall, dark and handsome with an understanding of poetry, he will sweep you off your feet and have you wishing you had a class, or many, with this delectable man.
From cover to cover I was swept up, refusing to walk away. I forewent lunch just so I didn't have to put my kindle down, and that is a BIG DEAL. Darling left me smiling, drooling and simultaneously feeling bereft. She has the perfect mix of sexy, sweet, suspense and erotic pleasure.
5 blazing and poetic stars for Teach Me. I cannot wait to get more words from this author. She never fails to woo me.

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. It sucked me in from the first page. The book moved fast and I enjoy a fast paced read. This was definitely well written, with fabulous complex characters that left me aching for more.
Harper is a modern poetry student at Oxford University. One night at a party, she decides to steal a few moments of passion with a guy she has never met before. When she arrives for her first class, she recognizes her new Professor Jack Kingston, she was in his arms naked a few hours earlier. These two form a strong connection. They have many things in common but most of all they just get each other in all the right ways. It doesn't take long for things to heat up between the professor and Harper. The chemistry these two have is hot and steamy. But, will they be able to keep their forbidden love a secret or Jack’s burning desire to possess her will bring him and everything he's ever worked for down around him?
This story is about forbidden love and passion – passion for poetry and passion for another person. When Jack and Harper are together their chemistry is unquestionable. The writing was exceptional and beautiful. Overall this read was awesome. The characters were more than three dimensional. And the plot rocked. If you're a big fan of forbidden romances, especially the student/teacher types, you most definitely want to read this one.
ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Harper is an American student doing a semester at Oxford University to study poetry. One night before classes start she goes out to a party, where she meets a mysterious man in a fake confessional booth, and they share a brief, yet sexy, encounter. She never got a good look at him in the dark booth but she recognizes his voice when he's standing in front of a full class room introducing himself as her poetry professor.
Teach Me was a ridiculously sexy book that I didn't want to put down once I started reading. The story was fast paced but full of romance, passion, and there was even some angst thrown in there. I thought it was great how there was a bit of everything going on in the story, yet the focus never deviated from the main characters.
These characters were brilliant, and I enjoyed seeing them together. Yes the book was super sexy and the hot parts were a large part of the story, but there was also romance and true feelings between Harper and Jack that I adored getting to see. Even in the romantic times they both had amazingly dirty minds, and their encounters were always off the charts smoking hot.
With any forbidden romance book there is bound to be some drama, especially at the end. But I did have a little problem with the direction that the drama went in, and I just didn't think that what happened was completely necessary or handled by the characters real well.
Overall, the story was erotic, romantic, and worth the read. If you enjoy a hot as hell professor and his equally sexy student, and want to experience their naughtiness, this is the book for you. Now I'm going to go pout because I never had a professor like Jack.
"You are a jerk Harper Reed.A beautiful, amazing, wonderful jerk." "You're not so bad yourself, Professor."
This was a nice reading.I really really enjoyed this book especially the hot, dirty and naughty sex scenes that Jack and Harper had together. Ohhhh My God they went at it like rabbits in heat!!! They had some crazy HOT chemistry going on... I mean it was HOOOOOOOOT my friends! Enough about the sexual frustration this book may or may have not caused me!Lets get down to business. This book is about a forbidden love between a Professor and his student. They met at a party and had some fun,"if you know what I mean",but not all the way, without exchanging names and it was dark too.So the next day they meet again in the class.Everything was normal UNTIL Harper heard her Professor talking with his beautiful accent and then BOOM "Well Hello my almost hook up"! They tried to keep it in their pants for a while, well lets just say that didn't work very well for them.
"What I want is to bent you over this desk and fuck you right here, right now." "You like that, you dirty girl? You like my cock in your wet,hot pussy?"
They tried to keep their hot and dirty lovemaking a secret...AnD that meant that they had sex in the most impossible places!I really enjoyed that!So basically I just enjoyed their hot sex..no just kidding! The storyline was good, there were times when they talked about poetry that I got kind of bored but they had creative sex after so I got over it...the writing was good...the only thing that I didn't like very much was the drama toward the end only because they overreacted. Harper took it very seriously and Jack apologized like he committed a crime or something.I could have lived without the drama if you ask me.
AND FINALLY the sex part...was off the charts!!! "Is that what you want,Harper?A good fuck?" "Preferably a lot of good fucks, not just one, but yeah. That's all I'm looking for." "Be careful what you ask for,Harper." "You drive me so fucking crazy.I can't stop thinking about you." "Why can't I get enough of you?" "Because you fit me so fucking well?" "I'm never going to walk again." "That was my secret plan all along. Now you'll never escape me. "I'd never want to.What are we doing?" "Starting something wonderful."
Jack started being all romantic and shit and I just melt and swoon every-time...
"I love you,and I want to be with you,and I have never felt like this before in my life and it is fucking terrifying. But I needed you to know that.Okay.You can now continue to hate me if you want." "I don't hate you,you idiot.I love you, Jack Kingston."
I love a good student/teacher romance and when you throw it in a foreign country, well how could you not go for that? A twenty-something American student and a British professor, oh yes.
The book starts out with a steamy bang and it’s really funny. It hooks you in and you are desperate for more. I really liked the beginning because Harper goes to a Tarts and Vicar Party and she’s dressed as a nun. She goes into a fake confessional booth to get away from the party, where she meets Jack. She can’t see his face because it’s dark, but after a few minutes of conversing, he goes down on her.
I know! Right?!
They soon realized she’s a student and he’s her teacher. Jack has a special project where he can enlist one student to help him. And guess who gets the assignment?
The beginning was really steamy, but it kind of fizzes out towards the middle, which was a little disappointing. Yes there are some steamy moments, but this book reads more New Adult than erotica. Jack knows it’s wrong to peruse anything with Harper, but he can’t help but touch her.
Harper is super drawn to Jack and does what she can to be near him. At times she was a little needy, but she wasn’t ridiculous, I just wanted Jack to chase her a tad bit. Jack has a lot of personal issues, he’s ex is always in the background bringing up drama and he also has issues with his family. I liked reading about his ex, but I wasn’t too fond of his family dynamics.
Overall, it was a decent read, I skimmed the non-steamy parts because there was a bunch of dialogue, I know, I’m silly. But it was a good read with a good storyline.
I really enjoyed this super hot student/teacher romance. Jack and Harper were both likable characters. My only tiny complaint is that I wanted a little more from the epilogue. I really liked this book and look forward to reading more by this author.
I think it's really better this way than to read the book till the end and give it a bad rating...
I rarely use this word, but I think this heroine is a whore and I think this less because of her relationships, more because of her way of talking/thinking/bragging about them...
And as for the hero: How can I think of him as sexy and hot, when he as a 30 years old professor isn't capable of explaining to his parents or relatives, that his life goal doesn't have to be a wife, kids and the white picket fence?!?
Who should read this book? EVERYONE. (Well everyone who loves a scorching, super sexy read. WARNING: keep a spare pair of panties next to the Kindle.) I loved it. Harper's an American student studying poetry in the UK. Jack's her professor. They get together. It's HOT. But of course there's more to the story than just pulse-racing sex scenes. Besides the forbidden student-teacher romance, both characters have to deal with issues from their past to be able to move forward in the relationship. And I must say there was one scene in this book that was soooooooooooo heartstoppingly, grand-gesturally (is that a word? I don't know and I don't care) romantic. GAH. Loved it. So well written and lovely. Check it out!
1.5⭐️ the spice in this book is written with the same casual disinterest as one would write the birds they’ve spotted in a wildlife journal, and that’s just the first of my long list of issues with this book.
A book about a hot sexy Professor AND with an English accent? Yes, please.
I loved reading both POV, the British Professor and the American student, it’s a sexy, hot, erotic and beautiful story.
The chemistry between Professor Jack Kingston and Harper is steamy from the beginning.
Lola’s descriptions were so amazing that they made me feel like I was there, sightseeing and smelling the Costwolds, having a picnic or even filling the feathers, of course now I would LOVE to try a Yorkshire pudding.
Each book is better than the last one, can’t wait to see what Lola writes next.
I was very excited that Teach Me was a story about a very sexy professor, it turns out he's not just any sexy professor but a very sexy, British poetry professor. I really love this story, it's well written, filled with emotions and pulled at my heart strings. Lola Darling's writing overwhelms my senses with her scenic descriptions, over powers my emotions with heart-felt versus and left me walking on air against my better judgment of a professor/student relationship.
Harper Reed is studying abroad at Oxford University. One serendipitous evening inside a confessional she has a moment with a man who turns out to be her new poetry professor. When Harper decides to do the right thing and dis-enroll from the class, she makes a discover that changes everything.
Jack Kingston is the star poetry professor who can't take his hands off of Harper Reed. He does his best to fight off his attraction. He believes that he'll "never be able to give a woman the full package." He doesn't believe he's capable of settling for some polite, gentle, orderly relationship. As it turns out this Alpha male has kink and he has found his match in Harper Reed.
There's much more to this story then a illicit professor/student relationship. It's a very beautiful and sexy story about two people who unexpectedly found each other but first have to resolve their own self doubts before their relationship can move forward. 5 operatic stars!
Well first let me say that who does not love a man with an accent......second who doesn't love a hot Professor with an accent. Loved this book because it was really about a girl who saves a man from himself. Jack never thought he could love and Harper proved him wrong....even though she had to let him go in order for him to figure it out for himself. Harper never gave up on her dreams that she had for herself and i loved that bout her. I also loved that Jack did what he had to do in order to insure that Harper knew he was serious, also I mean besides being a HOT Professor with an accent he loved Poetry........ I mean really.........its like you have to love him no matter what :) I cant wait to see what Lola Darling gives us next.
This was a quick and delicious read without a lot of real substance.
Harper was a naive, intelligent, and sweet young American woman who was studying abroad in Oxford, England. Jack was her surprisingly young, hot, and incredibly brilliant professor. Together they embarked on a journey of love. There's the taboo sex/love plot that leads to a HFN.
There's not much else to say about this book. However, one thing did annoy me. Harper was upset that Jack wouldn't publicly acknowledge their growing relationship, despite knowing that doing so would jeopardize his job. This was the biggest issue to annoy me in this story and it obviously wasn't that big of a deal. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable light read.
Teach me is such a seductive romantic yet angsty emotional story. The story is mostly set in England and the setting is oh so romantic. Harper Reed is studying overseas at Oxford University. At a party where they had a costume party set up, they had a confessional set up. So Harper decided to go into it and suddenly there was someone on the other side, a man and there was a “moment” that was hot, sexy, and oh so deliciously dirty. She never found out who the man was, she left but she wished she had gotten his name but she is fixing to start college so maybe, Harper was thinking, timing wasn’t right. OHHH but she met him again—The confessional man is her new poetry professor. Harper wanted to drop the class but finds something out that changes everything. Jack Kingston is a sexy British man. He is a very deep thinker. He is the star professor who teaches poetry at Oxford and when he finds out who “Confessional Girl” is, everything changes. He does everything he can to fight the attraction. Jack thinks he cant give her what she wants, what she needs in a relationship-for he doesn’t think he is capable of being in a real relationship. Jack is a real Alpha male and Harper is a match- she goes toe to toe with him to prove him wrong and show him how much she loves him and is there for him. There is angst, love, passion, pain, hope, joy, --oh there is so much wrapped up in this lovely story about a man who has suffered much pain and the woman who fights for him, to show him their love is worth all the pain, all the tears. I love the forbiddeness of the story about the teacher/student but this is so much more than that. It is a dirty, sexy, erotic , joyous, painful path to what truly matters if you truly want something that matters. Jack and Harper make a fantastic MC and their path to happiness is a great one to read. My rating: 4.7 stars ***** *A gifted copy was provided by the author for my honest review*
5+ Too-Hot-For-Words-Stars! ☆☆☆☆☆ I loved this book soooo much! Everything was great. The writing was superb and the flow of the story had me on the tips of my toes. I loved all the characters, especially professor Jack Kingston. I loved to hate him. The beginning part, of him dressed as a priest at the party, eating out Harper was beyond sexy! (FYI: i read that sex scene more than once, it was that good) I liked how there were multiple climaxes in the story, it made the story more real and i cant stress how happy i am that the author didn't take the usual route of having Harper and Jack's relationship being outed, the main climax. Even though Jack's ex, and Harper's friend Patrick knew about their fling, they never opened their mouths to tattletale. PS: did i mention how awesome the sex scenes were?...because they are panty-melting good :) highly recommend to those who love naughty taboo stories.
3.5 This was a forbidden romance between Jack a poetry prof. and Harper his student. While I liked Jack, Harper on the other hand I did not like at all. There was something about her that just annoyed me. Also they were both immature. Which is funny since Jack has called Harper the same thing. Over all a good read I may read the next one when it comes out.
Harper Reed's an American who's travelled to England to go to university with her childhood pen pal, Mary Kate. As soon as she arrives, Mary gives her the address of a party and tells her to "wear your best habit." Harper thinks she means it's a formal affair and dresses up for the occasion; she feels like a fish out of water when she sees everyone dressed instead for Tarts and Vicars night. Her friend ditches her for a hot guy and she wanders into a makeshift confessional. Only she's not alone. A sexy voiced guy is in there; the two flirt and there may be some undressing and naughty playing which occurs. When their private party is broken up by a group of raucous partiers, Harper leaves in horror.
But imagine her horror when she recognizes the voice of her professor, Jack Kingston as the sexy vicar from last night. He is drop dead gorgeous but doesn't seem to recognize her. (and she makes sure not to let him hear her voice)
"Very good," replies our famous professor, the man I came here hoping to study with. The guy I hooked up with last night.
She does end up meeting him in the hallway and confessors who she is-he is equally shocked and makes sure she realizes she won't be getting any special treatment because of this. (can he take that stick out of his butt please?)
Since this story is told in both POV's, we learn quite a bit about Jack's background. He doesn't have the easiest family life and there is a reason he avoid commitment with women.
But of course there is something brewing between Harper and Jack and eventually their relationship of teacher/student is going to cross over to lovers. That's when all the lines are going to blur, and things will be more gray than black and white. Jack's reluctance to share information about Harper with his family and friends is going to come back and bite him. (and not in a good bite way either!)
Maybe someday if won't hurt anymore. Maybe someday I'll be able to look back on this whole experience and smile. Maybe.
This was a charming story with a bit of a twist. Harper is mature for her age and has enjoyed past relationships; even though her former lovers all turned out to be douche bag losers. Jack is ten years older than her but they have many things in common not just a blinding passion for each other. There is some drama but it's not contrived for drama's sake. This is an interesting, witty and fun read, I will check out this author's other books.
Whoa! Is it getting hot in here? Because this book was all kinds of naughty, sexy, and so so good. Lola Darling made my lady bits tingle and my kindle sizzle with the steam she put out in Teach Me. I am a sucker for a good student-teacher romance and this book definitely fit that bill.
This is one of my first books by this author but you can bet your sweet as$ it will not be my last. This book was a fast read that hooked me from the beginning... who knew a confessional could be so dang naughty?! But boy did this author give me that naughty bit in that opener and tons more.
Teach Me was forbidden, intense, passionate, sexy, intense, and had a gripping storyline that will hook you and won't let go until the pages quit turning. Oh the angst, drama, and twists in this book provided quite a fresh spin on a storyline that is crazy popular in the indie book world.
From that super hot blurb to that intense cover, Lola Darling takes her readers on an erotic journey with Harper and Jack. They have tons of chemistry but there's a problem... he's the professor and she's the student. There will be challenges... but it makes it all that much sweeter in the end.
