I’ve made mistakes with relationships in the past.
And repeated them.
Surely even the hint of a marriage proposal couldn’t go wrong.
It did.
And now I’ve made the biggest mistake ever with the worst man of them all.
If I tell my best friend, Sophie, then I risk losing her. If I don’t then there’s every chance that keeping my secret will cause my world to implode anyway.
Can I buck the trend of my relationships’ past, or am I destined to be doomed in love forever more?
Either way, I know I’m in trouble.

Sasha Lane is known for her contemporary romance novels - they’re funny, relatable, and addictive.
Chick lit style with a hint of darkness.
Sasha says ‘I try to create characters that are everyday women so hopefully readers can find something about their personality or lifestyle that they can relate to and fall in love with them as much as I have while writing about them.
The idea behind my books is to show the challenges of everyday women trying to balance jobs/careers, with family, friends and relationships. It’s hard, and sometimes you have to laugh at yourself, which the main character, Emma, does, but I also wanted to show how important friendship is too at keeping us all sane!’
Reality bit me from the start as the author swept me up and transported me into Emma’s world. A world I identified with immediately in the opening lines.
***
‘I think tonight might be the night.’ I bounce childishly in my chair, nearly knocking over my skinny cappuccino as I barely contain my excitement.
‘Okay, talk me through it. What exactly did he say?’ My best friend Sophie stares at me, a captive audience, patiently waiting for my response.
*** Great dialogue and no drawn out descriptive lead in for me to skip through. This story catapulted me straight into Emma’s thoughts and feelings and as a reader, I’m right there with Sophie, dying to know what’s coming next.
There’s something about stories told through the eyes of the characters, that gets me in every time. This one has the feel of a movie as I am immediately drawn to both Emma and Sophie’s real and relatable personalities.
It’s much more than a love story as Emma’s life is far from predictable. An apt title and a very well written enjoyable read I can highly recommend for lovers of women’s fiction. Get your imagination and emotions ready to roll, and throw yourself head on into this one. You won’t be disappointed.
Girl Conflicted tells the story of Emma. A thirty-two that dreams about marrying and find The One, which she thinks is her boyfriend Chris, however, her world crumbles down when He out of the blue breaks up with her and she makes a bad decision that affects her friendship with her most beloved friend. How can she recover now?
This book was a pleasant and fun reading. The beginning it's a bit expected but very engaging. The plot's quite interesting and the story flows rather fast, so there are no moments for boredom. It has great twists and outcomes. You found yourself wondering how all of this can work out. The writing it's good. Sasha Lane knows how to capture the reader and shows just the necessary to maintain the curiosity at hand. It has some sex scenes, which I'm not really into, but out of that, it's a great book. If you like romcom with great twists, this is your book! I'm already waiting for the next books in the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book for an honest review. And I'm writing this voluntarily.
If you want a nice quick, pleasant read, take a look at this book. Emma's love life is turned upside down and the story takes her through a mixture of bizarre happenings that keep you interested to find out what is going to happen.
Hi Sasha, I wanted a break from murder me and boy, did I get one!! I really enjoyed this book and have downloaded more!! Keep on writing honey, they're balance of sexy , loving and the dark side is more like real life than the stories that are so called "romance". Power to your own girl
okay i enjoyed it. the reality that your best friend can enter an relationship (abusive or not) and shut you out like that, that fast is something i will truly never understand and maybe that's just my trust issues. but then to find love and be able to open her friends eyes to everything and then almost get killed, listen this could be an action movie for that small part

Great little fun read with an interesting storyline. So glad that things worked out in the end of a roller coaster ride for Em. Great descriptions that I could 'see' Looking forward to the next one in the series. x
Oh wow... how has this got 4*? I felt like I lost 1,000 brain cells just trying to make it to the end. Where to even begin...
First of all, the volume of typos and errors through this book is shameful. Was it proof read - even once!? Awful.
Secondly, the story line. Not only did I not care but it was so, so predictable. Woman speaks with best friend about how SURE she is that her bf will be proposing that evening (based solely on a choice of restaurant...riiiiight). Proposal, proposal, proposal!!! It’s forced down your throat so obnoxiously that even I guessed within 15 seconds of it being mentioned that she’d actually be getting dumped. Girl then goes out, gets bladdered and pulls a one night stand which is heavily detailed leaving you to debate 1 of 2 outcomes. He’s either going to be the love of her life, or the previously mentioned new boyfriend of her best bum chum who, very conveniently for the plot, wouldn’t give her bestie any details about her new beau (again, for no apparent reason). SHOCKER FOR US ALL - it turns out the be the latter... and when main character informs said best friend after a lifetime of friendship, honesty and love, she unexplainably does not believe her. Awful.
The way the characters act in totally illogical, irrational ways in order to serve the ridiculous plot....just awful.
And finally, the sheer amount of awful, cringe worthy dialogue which goes on for pages and pages. There are other ways to convey information...truly awful.
Save your 99p on kindle. This book isn’t even worth that.

Emma has made a big mistake…. How is she ever going to be past this, how will she rectify it and is she doomed to be alone for ever?
Emma is a totally relatable, sometimes annoying but definitely funny and loveable main character. Her best friend Sophie compliments her well and then throw in a whole host of twist and turns, sometimes predictable, sometimes jaw dropping moments leaves you wanting to know more and see where this journey goes.
There was a few moments in the book which i caught myself rolling my eyes, some pining from the female character and some other bits which i wont mention as i do not want to spoil the story. However it was only a few moments and i didnt spoil the overall book for me .
Definitely a solid 4 stars, not the magical 5 but enough to put the next book of the series on my tbr.
Well this is a fantastic book!! I’ve loved it!! Read in just a couple of hours!! Couldn’t put it down! I love the Friendship between Emma and Sophie, I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next. This book kept me on the edge of my seat, I wanted to know what was going to happen next. I have a bit of a crush on Joe, what a lovely man 😍 this is a definite five star read which I highly recommend. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It was like reading the script for Emily in Paris, and I hate Emily in Paris.
Full of typos, pages and pages of pointless dialogue, Emma is so dramatic, lots of things happen but it's still somehow so boring. It's honestly like reading the diary of a 16 year old girl who's never had an adult thought in her life. I didn't feel any genuine connection between any of the main characters and the repetitive references to people as 'Miss Sarcastic' or 'Miss Dramatic' was so grating. Connor wasn't anywhere near fleshed out enough as a psychopath to give his character any depth so ultimately I didn't care about him or why he did what he did. The author also over uses 'had the decency to look contrite' and 'every nerve stood to attention' that if I was playing a drinking game whilst reading it, I'd be dead.
This is my first Sasha Lane novel and I was pleasantly surprised. I found the character development great and the dialogue (often my favorite part of a novel) excellent.
This is a quick read with some endearing characters. I loved Emma and Sophie, right off the bat. Mum was great, as were Emma's supportive co-workers. The men introduced were always questionable, which I also liked.
Need a cute, easy read? This is it. There are some poignant moments and an abusive-relationship side to this novel which is definitely not cute, but the author handles this smartly. We women always want to see other women rise to show their strength, and I don't think I'll spoil it by saying here they do! Loved.
I'm afraid this wasn't a hit with me. I didn't feel like much happened until the last quarter of the book, and I didn't feel a connection with the characters. Also, there were quite a few editing issues that should have been picked up by Word or Grammarly, and that detracted a bit for me. Others might love this story, but it wasn't a chicklit or romance in my book, and that's kind of what the title promised... (in the brackets)
I wanted to like this book but I couldn't even get half way through, the mfc was annoyingly pathetic, I get it she's sad over her break up but she acts like a timid virgin over everything, I just couldn't get into this story
I really enjoyed this story. What a ride! Its so sad when parents do things like they abused their sun and turned him into an abuser. sadly GB, this story puts this out there for all of us to think about, in all its darkness, but people need to be reminded.
'He stares at me, looking a little awkward, and for a second a flash of disappointment washes over me. My stomach does a little flip like when you go over a hill in the car a little too fast and I suddenly feel like I’m going to hear something that I really don’t want to.
This isn’t how I pictured the conversation going at all and I can feel the sheepish grin that’s been plastered on my face all evening beginning to fade.'
