The Guardians (Series 3) is the follow up to the hugely popular Alpha Company Women Series (Series 1) and the Stalwart Security Series (Series 2), and for maximum enjoyment it is recommended that the books are read in order.
Demons
There are times in your life when you have to do the only thing that feels right, even when you know you'll hurt the most important person in the world.
Evan has had to live with the knowledge that he destroyed the only woman he ever loved, and although he’s always regretted how he did it, he’s never doubted that his reasons were the right ones.
But for more than a decade he’s kept his past and his demons a closely guarded secret from his friends and team-mates.
Megan has one love in her life, her younger half-brother, Robbie. When his footballing career takes off, she couldn’t be happier when the young Welsh Wizard moves from Cardiff to a Midlands Premiere League club to be near where she works as a nurse in Birmingham.
When Robbie starts to receive threatening letters, Alpha Company is brought in to provide security for him, and Megan breathes a sigh of relief knowing that he’s their top priority and they’ll do anything necessary to keep him safe.
When a ghost from her past threatens to rip her life apart again, will she risk the new life she’s built with her brother for a second chance at happiness?
Demons is the third book in the Guardian Series.
Titles in the first two series are as follows;

This book, as with all of the books in the Alpha-Stalwart-Guardians series, is a win! I have read them all and I can honestly say I fall in Love every time. Each new friend is introduced and as the story unfolds I am drawn in and brought along for the ride. I’m so invested that when I’m reading I feel every emotion, frustration and every ounce of exhaustion my new friends are also feeling. It’s wonderful the way Beth brings back my favorite friends and molds them into the story. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE! I must insist that you read them in order. Otherwise the stories, while excellent on their own, will not flow as well as they do when they’re read in order. Thank you Beth Abbott for giving me such awesome men and women as my surrogate family and friends. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for me next! I’m waiting for you to WoWZAme again, and again, and again!
I chose this rating because this was an amazing book. I really enjoyed all of the characters. Add this book have a lot going on, it was well written. It touch on a lot of things that's going on in marriages and relationships. This book also was about opening your eyes and allowing your spouse or your girlfriend decide for themselves if they wanted to continue in a relationship or not. Regarding circumstances with you being in the military. It also touched on the subject of greed. Putting money and monetary stuff before your family. This book was well-written and I'm so glad that Evan and Megan got together, well got back together. Wow this was a great book. I'm also happy that Suzy and Matt resolved their situation as well. I think they make an amazing couple. Great read, I recommend this book to all romance readers.
No plot spoilers There is a potential trigger relating to kidnap and threatened sexual assault. The characterisation is good, more than enough to allow the reader to form a connection with the characters. It helps that the original cast from previous books are always present too. The plotline is engaging, it kept me turning the pages. There are a couple of places where it derailed a little and the story could have been tightened up but it soon gets back on track. There are some errors but nothing to get irritated about. There are a couple of sex scenes and plenty of swearing. If you are a fan of the genre I have no problem recommending the book but would advise reading from the beginning to obtain the best reading experience
Another amazing book from Beth Abbott! All of her books 📚 are hard to put down but to see Suzy and Matt struggle the way they do in this book is quite unusual because they are the most solid couple in all three series so far, I felt like giving Matt a knock or two quite a few times in this book and I've never felt like that before! It all worked out in the end and now they're solid again, hopefully it will stay that way! Not quite as much suspense not as many cliff hangers but still excellent!!!
The beginning for me was so dry. I get that it was pretense for the plot but it lacked the spark of the last few books. While this was cute it wasn’t climactic in the least bit. I love Suzy and Matt and appreciated the realistic woes of a married couple. I also like Evan and Megan but the catalyst that brought them together was Robbie and the threats against him. Considering Suzy and Megan were not the intentional victims there was no resolution to who was sending the letters and if Robbie is safe.
Oh my stars! All the feels in this one. Heartbreak, jealousy, emotional manipulation, oh, the list goes on…this was such a good book. Poor Evan and Megan. All that wasted time. I really liked both of the main characters. They seemed so very real to this reader.
But the sub-story of Matt and Suzy was what really got me! Like, stayed up all night reading got me. I loved that the author pulled this established couple into this book and gave them a problem to work through. Even if my heart was in my throat thinking the unthinkable.
Evan and Megan's story is so genuine and pure. We all hope for the one that got away but often nothing happens. It's not often the universe gives such clear and simple 2nd chances. Time waits for noone and before you know it, it's 10 years past. Anxiety is nothing to play with. PTSD is a destroyer of lives.
This new series so good. Full of new and interesting characters, different storylines. Yet we still get to see characters from there other series. I highly recommend this series, Beth Abbott is a master storyteller!
I have to admit at first I had to go back and make sure this was Evan & Megan's story since it started with Matt & Suzy. And everytime it went back to Matt & Suzy I was torn between wanting more about them vs Evan & Megan because that part was more engaging
That being said after about 6-7 chapters it settled into a rhythm my brain could latch on to. From there the different perspectives not only made sense but enhanced the story.
I love that we still see characters from the Alpha & Stalwart families without them taking over too much.
That being said I, for me, I would like the main characters to actually be more of the start and the others be just a bit more in the background - but that is just MY personal opinion.
I am looking forward to the other Guardian stories but hope Robbie gets his own story too! Maybe with a new female Guardian (or even male if his story leans that way).!
Beth has this way with words that let you feel part of the story. Make you really care what's happening. With sexy loving alpha men's and badass women. A must read. I have all of Beth's books.
