Is the culprit Skippy and his band of ninja squirrels?

Awesome. Leo is Absolutely Fabulous! His remarks just made me giggle. What a terrific read. The plot is who killed the carnie worker and you might get some idea who it is but not until you are virtually at the end of the book. The characters are great and can't wait to read about the mischief the two get up too when Heidi actually moves to town.
The event had grown from the booths run by most of the businesses in town to the carnival that the mayor had invited. However when she trips over a body the evening has to end early. Who killed the man and why? With Heidi (who has come down to see if she can find a house fire when she moves down permanently and Leo (who is still in an all out war with Skippy and his band) they start looking into the murder. Things get more confused when her flirting mother arrives, her unending aunt shows up and a new cousin. Can the girls wrap up the murder before the carnival moves on?.

This is an awesome story that makes it more interesting than just a little bit too much about the murder of a carnival worker.
I borrowed this book from Kindle Unlimited. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Quirky, fun and a great story too!

This is the sixth installment of this series and Kennedy Layne does an amazing job of keeping the story fresh and fun! The premise of the series is that Raven inherits a tea shop from the Grandmother she never knew and discovers she's a witch. Set in a charming New England town, with her grandmother's familiars Leo, she has a lot to learn and no one to turn to. Each book deals with different issues that come up between Raven, her use of magic, the town, and of course a murder. She's quirky and determined to do the right things and constantly getting into trouble. Really an enjoyable series that has some really interesting characters and situations. Leo is hilarious! Heidi, her bff, and her mother, Regina are awesome too! I really recommend this series.

So So Great!

She has done it again. I cannot say it enough,Kennedy Layne has such away with words. Her storytelling is so above other writers out there I get so disappointed when I waste my time and money on someone new. But I can tell you that this author does not disappoint me at all thank goodness she has lots of other series on audible because I just saw this one was not finished in audible so I guess I'll be moving on to one of her other ones if they are completely done in audible. I have to listen so it does me no good to get invested in a series with my time and money to not finish the series. I'm following another authors series on audible which she's at I believe 67 books now I only listen to them so I wait till the audible comes out there were a few I did have my husband read to me but he's no narrator.

I really enjoyed reading this book, as well as the others in the series up 'til now.

Raven, Leo and Heidi are caught up in another murder, this time Raven's Mum and estranged Aunt are also on the case causing some problems.

Leo's acerbic one liners make the books, bringing some humor to the situations which the girls find themselves in.

Then there's Liam and Jack, with Raven trying to keep the fact she's a witch from her boyfriend Liam, and Jack, who's Heidi's boyfriend; both are in the Police force so involved in solving the murder.

All in all a great book, and a wonderful series, I can't wait to read the next book in line.

I'm Hooked

This is another short fun read by Author Kennedy Layne. It's about a Newbie Witch, her Cat Familiar who is not perfect in visage but has the smarts to teach this Newbie Witch wannabe Detective about her inherited gift. Add a little bit of family dysfunction and sprinkle the whole story with love and you get yourself an entertaining read. There are no explicit language in this novel and no cliffhangers. I know there is a next installment and I can't wait to dig into it.

So good

This series has become a favorite of mine. The series has several unique qualities for a cozy paranormal that I've seen in few other books in the genre. This book does reveal some of the secrets that have been building over the whole series and for that reason this book is my favorite so far. A whining cat is always fun too and Leo is a pro. Some of the best written snarky cat I've read.

Another fun read

This series is such fun to read. You have a novice witch a hilarious familiar a best friend and a hot cop. What more could you ask for? Oh that's right you have mother witch thrown in as needed. This time the carnival is in town and one of the carnies is murdered. Raven and her friends try to solve the mystery with some comical happenings along the way. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Always enjoyable reading

These books are so fun to read. I find myself reading them like eating potato chips. Can't eat just one. Always enjoyable reading. Thanks. Where's the bathroom in her house. I see walking into the foyer. To the left is the dining room with the kitchen behind that. And bedroom on top of the kitchen with the circular staircase. I see the living room to the right with the fireplace on the far right wall. But where is bathroom? Anyway just curious.

Paramour Bay is busy with its Spring Festival. Unfortunately, things take a bad turn when a body is discovered behind the kissing booth at the traveling carnival on the edge of town. Raven begins to investigate the suspicious death.

The story was enjoyable. I really enjoy spending time with Raven and the various colorful characters. The mystery was also fun to figure out. I also enjoy the romance element in the series.

A race to the fair

Heidi is moving to Paramour Bay and there are three houses to look at. W3 are left hanging not know which one she likes best and if any fit her desires. While this is happening, the spring fair has arrived. Ràvwn is making her way to get Heidi for the first house when she literally trips over a dead body ... UGH!

Loved the book, loved the series. I couldnt believe that the Aunt has an adopted son and he lives in Paramour Bay as the local handyman. I thought for a moment we were going to find out who Raven's father is. I cannt believe that Beetle is dating Raven's Mom. I cannt believe that the murderer was the clown. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

The Mystery of Carnivals

Twists and turns and witchcraft antics make for a good read. Interesting characters and familiars and friends to find the answers without alarming the bystanders.

Not to my taste

Lightweight. It will be enjoyed by acolytes of the genre but for me it misses. Humour, at best, is distracting; the story lacks pace, pathos and adventure. It is not a cosy mystery as there is no detection the story unwinds despite the antogonist.
One to miss.

I won’t be giving too much away when I say that Heidi is coming to town to stay and Leo is very happy.
The spring festival is on and a carnival has come to town.
Surprises abound as secrets are revealed.

Loved it

Loved the quirky characters especially Leo. This book gives you little hints and then takes you somewhere else to make it interesting. And I can not wait to see if mom moves back in the next book or two.
