The Phoenix has risen, and we’d all better get out of her way.
Healed and beautiful, well, perfect if you ask her, Phoenix now faces her hardest quest. Six Challenges, one for each species of the Void, to prove her worth and take her seat on the Guard as leader of the minions. And she only has until the full moon to do it. Phoenix has help though, her band of friends haven’t left her side, even though she’s being a jerk. Having a perfect ass can do that to a Traveller. Don’t worry, Royal is there to keep her in check.
Will Phoenix survive a trek through the Snakemen’s jungle or a swim to the bottom of the Siren’s ocean? Will the Silvermen let her leave their circle of pain alive? And when Noiryn puts her life on the line, can Phoenix save her?
Buy Rise and find out what happens when you truly stand in your power.
This follow up to the Phoenix trilogy leaps right in where the last book ended. If you haven’t read the others it may take a moment to catch up, but it is possible to enjoy this book without having read the others. A satisfying fantasy series with plenty of action.
Phoenix has won the battle against the evil minions. Having killed the king of the minions, Phoenix looks to claim his place as the protector of the minion who have chosen to leave the caves and live above ground. Phoenix home has accept them and will keep them safe.
Beyond that she has healed herself and now has both of her wings again. She is drunk on her power and health. Can she temper this and become a good leader for her people?
A challenge has been made. Phoenix must face a challenge from each of the peoples of the void in order to join the Guard as the minion’s representative. She has a few friends and allies among the people, but at least as many enemies. These challenges won’t be easy.
Can Phoenix beat all of the challenges and take her place on the Guard? What will she have to face to win?
I really enjoyed this installment of the Phoenix series. It was fast paced bringing back the same interesting characters, unique storyline and twists and turns of the previous books. I liked the imagery of the different worlds and as always the sarcastic wit of the main character Phoenix. An all-around enjoyable read and continuation of the series.
