WHO IS DARTH VADER? He has been many things: a SITH warrior, a commander, a destroyer. DARTH VADER is to many throughout the GALACTIC EMPIRE a symbol of fear and mysterious, otherworldly power. But there are some who have seen the DARK LORD in a different light. There are some corners of the galaxy so dark and desperate that even Vader can be a knight in shining armor. The first issue of a new STAR WARS limited series, writer Dennis Hopeless (CLOAK AND DAGGER, JEAN GREY) sheds new light on the many sides of the galaxy’s greatest villain.

Enjoyable but not the best vader story. I liked how it brought this savior type of role to Vader. His actions can be taken differently to the people involved in the situation. The art was great just not sure this will go down as something I'll look back on.

I love Vader so much and the previous series was awesome, but this one... Story nothing has great and the illustration style is just horrible. Big failed for what I'm concern!

A very insightful story about how one action can make someone a hero. Fairly similar story to the Hero of Canton storyline in the Firefly TV show. Not sure where this mini series is going to go from here though. I feel like this would have been a good one off.

Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum starts the Dark Visions miniseries, already controversial after the firing of Chuck Wendig and the cancellation of his Shadow of Vader, with a tale of Vader surviving again impossible odds.

In this case, his ship is damaged enough to make planet-fall, and he finds a giant monster, a kaiju responsible for destroying an entire civilization, and decides to face him.

Obviously, it's not a giant monster who spells Vader's doom, so he emerges unscathed from the fight, but leaves forever his mark on the boy who saw it all, and lived to tell the tale.

This was a promising start of the series, but it has gone downhill since then...

I can’t believe they managed to change the perspective on Darth Vader in this issue. It was brief, sure. But it wasn’t exactly something I thought that they could easily do.
I love the storytelling style that went into changing how Vader is perceived here. It was clever and understated. And honestly? It added this sort of epic quality to it as well. In my head the narration sounded like it came straight from 300.
I also loved the fight scenes in this issue. They were of an epic scale, but it never felt so large as to be as for me to be unable to follow what was happening. It was brutal and sometimes the hits felt a little too real.

I was kinda worried that we'd be getting exaggerated views of Vader. But the fact that we see his perspective fighting the Rebels shows that it's not meant to be exaggerated by the character who narrates. The art is pretty cool throughout. Still, I'm not sure how I feel about this idea of Vader being perceived as a savior. It's something that the Thrawn trilogy alluded to, but I have mixed feelings seeing it play out.

Star Wars: Vader Dark Visions.
Definitely darker than other story arcs by Marvel. Not for young kids.
#1 – SAVIOR - Intense. “I found a book once. A wet, rotten little thing, but you could still read it.”

"I liked it!" - 3.5 star rating, with a round down to a 3.

Very cool sci-fantasy variant of Star Wars + Lord Vader + Aliens + Alien Worlds + Behemoth/Godzilla-level scale space monsters.

I want to say more, but I shall keep this spoiler free.

This is a very fun, lightweight comic.

Una buena y épica historia donde vemos a Vader matar a una gigante bestia que hostiga a la población de un planeta rural, convirtiéndose en sus ojos como un salvador de armadura negra y espada llameante roja. El arte del cómic devoró absolutamente.
