Just restarted the reading of this manga again and it still continues as good as I remember! Naruse has this bad guy karma but he really is a softy with Yuki.. She can be very obstinated about their relationship but she's really giving in their love and with what he gives her directly from his heart.
They're really, really cute!!

I am loving the dynamic shifting - her leaving high school and them basically growing up. I thought there was a lull in the some of the earlier books where it felt like I was reading the same book over and over again for a few stories (but I still enjoyed - was just ready for something new!) and I feel like it's finally evolving.

As Yuki's high school career winds down, she and Naruse begin to wonder what will happen to their relationship after Yuki graduates. But first--she needs to pass the entrance exam, and move into a new apartment...

This has long been one of my favorite contemporary romance series in manga. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is that Yuki's constant rumination on her relationship with Naruse--what it means, what she wants, etc.--is a bit tiring. In this volume she does have some growth, but so far with her it's been a back and forth. My hope is that she matures as she becomes a college student, and that continues to have his own character arc as he comes into his own as the basketball team's captain.

Cheeky Brat is a thoroughly enjoyable young romance. Yuki is the high school basketball team manager, a very stoic and dedicated individual who is always professional in her job and in her personal life. Stumbling upon her when she's showing an unusual bit of emotion, Haruse, the team's cheeky playboy, is intrigued with Yuki and pursues her romantically. Their romance continues to be about opposites that attract. Her dedication to avoiding romance is infuriating, but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable to read. I see many comparisons to Maid Sama, but My Little Monster also comes to mind. I enjoyed the story, and especially the likeably awkward third point on the love triangle. Additionally, the illustrations, especially those of the basketball players, are excellent.

Siamo agli sgoccioli, Yuki deve sostenere l'esame di ammissione e ad aiutarla c'è....Hakamada! Naruse purtroppo è bloccato a letto per l'influenza. Questo sarà motivo di litigio tra i due perché ancora faticano a capire che devono aprirsi di più l'uno verso l'altra e chiedere aiuto.

Durante la cerimonia del diploma però Yuki si rende conto di non aver mai detto chiaramente a Sho cosa prova, rendendolo di conseguenza un po' insicuro, quindi....DICHIARAZIONE EPICA + tradizionale scambio fiocco/cravatta del diploma per rendere il legame con la persona a cui si tiene più forte.

In uno dei rari momenti di libertà di Yuki, lei e Naruse vanno a vedere la fioritura dei ciliegi con la squadra e quando finalmente lei trova il coraggio di dire a tutti che stanno insieme, LUI la ferma perché vuole essere degno di lei e conquistare qualche titolo con la squadra ai campionati.

Alla fine del volume si vede uno scorcio dell'inizio della vita di Yuki da universitaria indipendente e della mancanza che sentono l'uno per l'altra.

Crescono insieme e si migliorano a vicenda, questa cosa è molto bella!

Another "okay chapter" so I was supposed to rate it three stars but I added a .5 because of chapter 52. I'm just not sure yet if the thing that I didn't like the most in this one was Yuki's cluelessness or Shou's probably-not-going-to-stop-anytime-soon jealousy.

Exams, Valentine's, graduation, and starting a new year (somewhat) apart. Stuff happens, there's a jealous possessive Naruse, a fight, and we go ring-around-the-rosie with clearly articulating feelings... again.

But, we've got a new set of rules, new characters, and some new dimensions to the story. So there's that.

Events of life are progressing but it feels like they aren’t as a couple. I can’t imagine being this nervous one on one being around someone that I say is my bf. It’s been 3 months, I just don’t like how “shy” she is. If she really feels that much more comfortable around the rival who is so sweet I think they should be a couple.

one of the best volumes so far if i’m being honest !! i love this type of dynamic but it does suck that it can take this long to be truly enjoyable…the beginning is fine but you just get so frustrated with the characters you gotta get warmed up to them
