When he gives her an iron-clad clue to her mysterious past—a clue that could heal her dying sister—Piper follows the trail to Muse Island.
Once on the island, her room is ransacked, a sinister message is left behind, and her one lead is murdered. Before the woman dies, she bestows a strange gift to Piper—one that makes her long-buried, childhood hallucinations return.
But are the creatures Piper sees more than hallucinations? And is her fate tangled up with the gods?
Now Piper must deal with awakening to a mythical world, monstrous villains who want to claim both her and the supernatural gift, and a charming resort owner with more secrets than answers. But who...or what...can she trust?

I loved this book. Its based on mythology, paranormal, romance, suspence, and magic. Piper is a councillor of sorts to sociopaths. She has a journey to make to find a way to heal her sister. This is a New must read series that I can't wait to read more of this series!
Mark of the Gods, the first book in The Muse Island series, is a fun, entertaining read. Based on mythology, the story also incorporates fantasy and suspense in an intriguing mixture. Dr. Piper Prince’s background is as much a mystery to her as to the readers, so we’re in it right alongside her as she discovers who she really is. I can’t wait to dive into Power of the Song, book two in the series, to learn more about everyone on Muse Island. Especially Bernard. I want a Bernard in my life.
'Mark of the Gods' is book 1 of Kris Faryn and Jules Lynn's 'Muse Island' series. It opens with Dr. Piper Prince, a clinical psychologist for the North Texas State Hospital for the criminally insane, about to leave her job to help her sister who is ill. She has one last psycho serial killer to interview and have him stand trial. This sets the stage and we see Piper armed with her birth certificate on her way to Muse Isl. Hoping to find her parents Piper believes they will be able to help her ill sister. From this point on we are taken on a whirlwind of a mystery chase around the island trying to piece together a puzzle about, who she is, her parents and where they may be, what the island is really about and why is her life threatened. I love the unusual, the hidden, and Magic which begins to show up later on in book one, I was not disappointed. Authors Kris and Jules, take a creepy thriller and give it some great twists and turns and slowly unfolds the magical beings in Piper's mist. Who these beings are and what is their intent slowly comes to light for some and others are still unknown. By the end of 'Mark of the Gods' I was so hooked that I was ready to dive into book two.
Gods, demi-gods, creatures. What is going on at Muse Island, and where does Piper fit in? Piper and her younger sister were adopted when they were very young. Now her sister has cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant. She needs to track down their birth parents. But where to start? Then her criminally insane patient at the hospital where she works as a psychologist somehow leaves a message at her home, even though he is locked up. It is a copy of her birth certificate from a place called Muse Island. But from the time she steps foot on the island everything is crazy. Her room is ransacked, she sees blurred faces for the islanders, and everyone keeps talking about the Gods. The only one she seems to be able to trust is Finn the owner of the resort. But then people are hurt, a woman is murdered, and it all seems to relate to her. And she starts seeing everyone on the island as creatures. What is wrong with her, and why is she so important? I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book has such a fun adventure to it and I loved getting to read this book. I love books that mix mythology with the real world or anything else and this book does that in an amazing way. This one mixes Greek mythology with the contemporary world. I loved the mystery and magic in this book along with the romance. I don't want to give anything away but Piper learns some things she didn't know and life gets crazy from that moment on ward.
I really enjoyed this book! I liked the plot and I am very interested in seeing how the crazy serial killer guy is tied into the power struggle on Muse Island! This book ended in a cliffhanger, so you’ve gotta read the books from the Muse Island series in order. I actually signed up to review the 4th book in the series and I am super glad I decided to start the series at #1 instead of just reading #4. I can’t wait to read the rest!!
What's not to love about gods and a fiery mc. Loved this novella on the gods but adding the contemporary feel was fantastic. It's one of those stories that you'll read, get completely immersed into the story and will need to read more. I wish I got a bigger book but I just love big books. Won't disappointed any God fan!
What an amazing read! “Mark of the Gods” is a mythological fantasy adventure that is fast-paced and entertaining. This tale has drama, suspense and intrigues you in a way that you feel fully invested in the outcome of the story. I loved this concept and this tale. I received a free copy of this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Received as a review copy, this is an honest review. While the mystery at the heart of the story was interesting enough, its characters were flat and annoying to read about, especially the main character Piper didn't give me a lot of depth to work with to keep myself wanting more.
Loved it! I have always loved mythological stories but with this book the author's have put their spin on it all. The character's were interesting and the storyline was unique. I'm looking forward to reading "Power of the Song".
A wonderful beginning to a new series. Everything you need to make this a story worth reading. Paranormal, romance and suspense all rolled into one. Can’t wait fir the next book.
