When political boundaries are crossed by the heart, it makes for a difficult situation. Can you change your values for the love of your life? Or will it all become a battle across the aisle? He wasn’t ready to see his old crush on television. And he wasn’t ready for what came out of his crush’s mouth. Lucien is a hard worker and a strong alpha. He’s had eyes for Caleb for a long time, but physical distance has driven the omega out of contention. With the government stewing over werewolf troubles, Lucien finds himself pushing back against shifter registration documentation—and against Caleb. Caleb ran away from home and joined up with the political circus. Over time, he’s lost himself to the games that happen on the Hill. A self-loathing omega werewolf, Caleb introduces a bill that will force all shifters to register so they can be more easily tracked. He’s used to the contempt from the other side, but not from Lucien. When fate shoves two at-odds werewolves together, will their past fall apart? Or will they put their feelings aside long enough to save each other? Loving Paws is a gay shifter mpreg romance novel intended for adults. We guarantee a happily ever after and no cheating!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second chance romance between Lucien and Caleb. When they were younger, they had a relationship, but Caleb left the pack and moved on, trying to find himself. Years later, Caleb is working in DC trying to get a bill passed into law requiring all shifters to be on a registry. Lucien remained with the pack and he works doing anything that needs done around pack lands. When Lucien hears he is in line to be the next alpha of the pack, he knows he has to try and stop the bill. Lucien and the pack go to protest the bill, and Lucien sees Caleb again. They still have an attraction to each other and Lucien feels like he can claim Caleb and make him listen to him. Caleb still loves Lucien, but he is not going to be a docile omega and allow Lucien to order him around. I enjoyed this book. I thought they really loved each other and tried to work things out. Lucien was too overbearing for Caleb and Caleb felt Lucien wouldn't listen to him. Lucien had to learn to listen to Caleb and think about his point of view. Caleb wanted to belong, but felt out of place in the pack. I think they were great together and made each other better. Another good one.

This was such a sweet story, I really liked the main characters and felt connected to them throughout. Caleb is an omega shifter who is living in DC and created a bill that would cause all shifters to register with the government. There have been many shifter attacks on humans so he believes this law will help to stop these crimes. Lucien, an alpha from his old pack, is very much against the bill, as are the rest of the pack and packs across the country. Lucien finds Caleb at a protest and they rekindle their passion for each other, which results in Caleb getting pregnant.

Lucien and Caleb argue about the bill and how it could affect their child. I like how we got to see both sides of the story and Caleb wasn’t just a jerk but had reasons to have created the bill. And Lucien tries to be understanding and doesn’t just brush Caleb off completely. They both have moments of anger but they also try to understand each other’s feelings.

All in all, a very sweet story about two people finding each other again and dealing with all the consequences their choices have had on them and others.

caleb was a shifter who wasnt fully happy about who he was and found he didnt seem to fit in with his pack.He left and headed to live among humans without rarely acknowledging his shifter side. He decided to help push a law that would keep track of shifters and keep them from losing control of their inner wolf hurting humans .His pack saw him as a traitor and so did the man he loved. Lucian had been in love with caleb since he first laid eyes on him and it was confirmed once he was him again after being away for him so long but at the same felt betrayed by what he was doing. He knew that the bill being passed just may get in the way and teat them apart and things get more complicated when the omega falls pregnant. Caleb was always treated differently because he wasnt the way a typical omega was suppose to be so he left to be able to Express who he was without being judged. This was a cute and fun shifter m/m romance and I really enjoyed the story between these two even though sometimes their stubborness annoyed me. I finished this one in one sitting.

Another great book, penned by Preston Walker, "Loving Paws" after the series "Furbitten Falls". Another great read. We have two MC: Caleb and Lucien Caleb, an omega, former Thunderstone pack member and Lucien, alfa in the pack. Caleb, idealistic, and young, wants to make it easier for all shifters, to prevent bloodshed between humans and shifters, now and in the future. Lucien and all his former pack members believe Caleb to be a traitor to their pack and all shifters. Unfortunately for Lucien, he has been in love with Caleb, since both were 16 years ago. I will stop here. This was an entertaining read. I started reading, I did not want to read anything "political" but I trudged on to find it was an entertaining book. Preston Walker is one of my favorite mpreg authors. He knows how to deliver. He knows how to write: his sentence structure, his word usage, and his imagination. I would recommend "Loving Paws" for an entertaining read.

Okay the fact that they put endangered species on registers along with Jews in Nazi Germany should have been a good hint to Caleb (the omega in this story) who left his pack years before to go out into the wider world to help people and change things, that the legislation that he is pushing through might not be a good idea. When he meets Lucien his teen love, again at a protest against said legislation they share a night then a pregnancy. They are both likeable guys but this is a lesson in self reflection and nearly screwing things up really badly. Thankfully all comes right but there is a chunk in the middle of this book where it all looks very pear shaped. It does leave several unanswered questions at the end of the book around what is going to happen with the future of shifters and Caleb's friend so this might be the first in a series.

I received this book for Free to Give My True & Honest Review.

Here we have Omega Caleb Haust who left his pack yrs ago & the man he was falling for from a young age, his old Alpha best mate Lucian, which became unexpected especially after that last night.
Then it's not until years later & Caleb is becoming big in the political sector where his other shifter 'family' feels like he's betraying them by voting for a register of a name roll of all shifters to try & keep both them & humans safe.
Then Lucien & Caleb sets eyes on each other & things take a turn around, will either of them make it through to their old feelings, but without breaking each other....
Come & join them & see if things become good between them or not...

Nice story. Caleb and Lucien were sympathetic characters. Caleb working in the governmant on a Human Shifter Comittee hoping to pass legislation for a shifter registry. He hadn't seen Lucien since he left the pack. Lucien living knowing something is missing from his life. He saw Caleb on TV discussing his legislation. The pack reacted in a negative angry manner. You could understand and empathize with both sides. You were just there hanging on the events hoping the vote went the right way. This was an interesting story that made you think while it entertained! Most of the characters invited youto want to get to know them better. The ending was a bit abrupt. I would have liked to read more about the relationship. Still a good story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

This is a deep and rich emotional story about Lucien and Caleb. The complexity of fitting in, of being accepted and of being loved for who were are is challenging and even more so if you are a shifter. The emotions, and the inner turmoil are raw, intense and so real. You live and experience every uncertainty every doubt and every hope. The emotions voiced by the characters is so real that you can't help but live and experience them along with them. The storyline is complex and intriguing being you wanting to know more to know what will happen next. Amazing and emotional read.

This story has a lot more of the political points for shifters like registering, Caleb leaves his pack to back the registration of shifters and he thinks that it’s the right thing to do but it might not be. When Caleb left his pack he left the love of his life and his alpha Lucien but Lucien believes that even though Caleb’s heart might be in the right place it’s not right to agree with the humans. Caleb has been called a traitor by his own pack so will this tear them apart forever?. I loved this story but Caleb and Lucien are very stubborn neither one giving in to the other, this is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This book was an interesting look at the games politicians play where even the best intentions can be twisted until the results are the opposite of what you wanted. Caleb wanted peace between shifters and humans, but was shifter registration the way to peace or just a way to keep track of shifters? Possibly a means of discrimination and harassment? The author did a good job of showing how the outcomes of political machinations are not always what the supporters thought or wanted. Will love prevail over ideology and can two men on opposite sides find a way to see what's most important to them both?

A good story about accepting who you are. Even though Lucien and Caleb have a history and cannot stop thinking of the other, it does not change the fact that they are on opposing sides of a political confict.
This story has some interesting characters, conflict, twists, intense passion, and it end with love prevailing and a HEA.
For me, the story seemed to be missing something, it was good, but just not quite there.

**Spoilers**

I'm not sure how I feel about this story to be honest. I feel like the characters may not have been as fleshed out as they could have been. Caleb made me angry because he refused to accept his wolf. And in doing so set things in motion that would make it almost impossible for shifters to live happy, free lives among humans. I'm happy that things with him and Lucien worked out but I feel, with more time and more words their story could have been better.

Caleb and his team are working hard to get a bill passed that would require all shifters to be on a register. The majority of shifters are just as adamant they do not want it. When visiting his hometown Caleb see’s Lucien, his childhood crush and emotions run high. After a night of passion Caleb leaves but is soon back for more.
Unfortunately this is not the best book I have read by Preston Walker.
I could not warm to the main characters and the storyline just dragged in places.

This is a standalone story. Lucien and Caleb are in love but have different views on being a shifter. Lucien embraces his shifter side while Caleb is almost ashamed of it. It takes them coming together, creating something wonderful, and splitting up before Caleb realizes what he can truly rely on. Caleb and Lucien finally get their happily ever after after a long hard struggle.

Scary future

Reading this book, about creating laws to segregate shifters, was downright scary. Caleb grew up not wanting to be a shifter despite loving his friend and Alpha. Lucien loved being a shifter almost as much as he loved Caleb.
When Caleb introduced legislation to put shifter on a "list" things got intense.
Good story, good characters, well worth the read.

This was a fun and quick read. It wasn't really as smooth sailing for the MCs as I thought that it'd be so that was a plus. The premise of the plot was actually interesting and if it the story was longer so that it could be further developed that would've been amazing. Lucien and Caleb are two ends of the spectrum but along the way they learnt how to balance each other out.

A second chance for Lucien and Caleb. Caleb does not want to be a wolf and deals with self-loathing. Lucien seems to despise Caleb just as much but does not stop himself from sleeping with him. A slow start. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of his book.
