Laura Nelson was content living in her family's old homeplace on the Potomac; creating her quilts, caring for her aging mom, and keeping herself to herself. But now her beloved house must be sold and her orderly life is coming apart. Suddenly there are people everywhere - in her space, in her thoughts, and even in her decisions. It seems everyone in the small town of Chipstow is privy to her personal business and feels compelled to interfere - and it is driving her crazy! She's even seen a stranger lurking around her secluded home, adding fear to her aggravation. Stubbornly determined to deal with her problems on her own, however, Laura may have to change the habits of a lifetime, to escape the danger coming against her before it's too late.
