Luca Wolff and Joy Sullivan are competing for guardianship of their estranged, teenage nephew, Eric, after his parents are killed in a plane crash. Evidence shows the crash wasn't an accident. Neither was a recent explosion that destroyed Luca's house. When a fire is intentionally set in Joy's home, suspicion points to Eric--and that's not the end of their trouble. Eric has been in his share of mischief, but now he has a chance to clean up his reputation. That's hard to do when the only people who believe in you are the ones you're accused of targeting. Just as Luca and Joy give in to romance, new information comes to light that could tear them apart along with Eric's dream for a happy family. The three have to set aside their grief, personal issues, and disagreements to figure out who is out to kill them…and why.
From childhood I've moved from place to place, from Indiana to Florida, stopping in several places in between. I also moved from job to job; as a waitress, soldier, retail manager, dental assistant, etc.. The one thing I never had to leave behind was my imagination. Storytelling has always been my favorite way to pass time. I've often been told I should write a book. Finally, I did. It was so much fun: I feel I must write more. I've been a student of Long Ridge Writers Group and once won a short story contest with Harlequin. I currently live in north Florida with my husband, whom I torture with crazy story lines and half written manuscripts. He has put up with me for thirty-plus years.
This is a fantastic tale of a hero and heroine from vastly different backgrounds thrown together to raise their nephew, a trouble teen, after the death of his parents. This story has many exciting layers, twist and turns which I loved. From the very beginning I was swept into their world and captivated by the multidimensional characters and their situations. There were several moments you had no choice but to laugh out loud at the characters antics. Then there were other times you wanted to strangle them. The blooming relationship between Luca and Joy is heartwarming. The story kept me turning pages as I tried to unravel the mystery of who caused the plane crash, who blew up Luca’s house, and who set fire to Joy’s business, then the stunning conclusion you won’t see coming. I truly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I highly recommend The Co-Parent Project. Great job Ms. Dailey!
Wow, Sandra Dailey drew me in on page one and never let go. Brimming with richly drawn characters, her intricate plot has everything I look for: secrets, mystery, suspense, romance, and intrigue woven together with a sprinkle of humor. After reading Close Enemy and Common Enemy, I was thrilled to read another tale by this author. Her remarkable gift of storytelling doesn’t disappoint!
The Co-Parent Project will warm your heart with the budding romance between Luca and Joy, especially when Luca’s secret reveals the kind of hero you love to love.
Perhaps because I raised two sons, even more touching for me was how fourteen-year-old Eric grows from a sad, troubled boy into a remarkable young man. I highly recommend this story and the author. The only downside of Sandra Dailey’s repertoire is it will leave you wanting more.
Ms. Dailey drew me into the story immediately within the first few pages of The Co-Parent Project. I was held captivated by the story of Luca, Joy, and their nephew, Eric. Not only had this family been torn apart by a horrific loss, but also by the internal struggles to manage a young boy’s life. I found myself laughing, crying, and cheering for each character, especially for Eric. The romance between Luca and Joy builds and warmed my heart. These are two individuals who come from different backgrounds, and I enjoyed the interaction and growth of their love. And I can’t discount all the secondary characters in this phenomenal story. They added another exceptional layer. Ms. Dailey kept me on the edge of my chair as I tried to unravel the mystery—a shocking conclusion, too.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Co-Parent Project by Sandra Dailey. The hero and heroine are from vastly different backgrounds, but they are forced to put aside their innate distrust of one another to raise a troubled teen. This is an emotional story of what it means to be a family, commitment to relationships, learning to trust, and selflessness. The unfolding love story, mixed with a dash of suspense, kept me turning the pages. Well done, Ms. Dailey.
