When the newly minted Shadowcaller Isiem agrees to accompany his estranged friend Ascaros on a journey to investiage his aunt's death and reclaim her possessions, he finds himself face to face with a powerful artifact of great interested to the pairs' academy, the infamous Dusk Hall of Pangolais. Good, creepy stuff, with notes of body horror. A pity it's so short - this part of the world would reward further exploration, I think. Still, definitely a big step or two up from the regular RPG-related fare.
While I enjoyed it, particularly the look at Nisroch and it's contrast to Pangolais, it felt really short - like there should've been another act to it. But! It's certainly still worth a read! It's only four chapters, and reads easy.
