This was a cute 'couple estranged', story. The angst was pretty low.
The story starts 6 months after Clara left Wyatt and moved to the other side of the country to get away. It took Wyatt this long to find her or he would have come sooner!

Clara was accused of embezzlement at Wyatt's company. There's some pretty damning evidence, and it doesn't help her that she was living with Wyatt at the time.
Crushed, she starts her life over.

When Wyatt shows up she is not friendly. He has a steep hill to climb to win her back.

It's a little silly that it takes Wyatt most of the book to tell Clara what happened after she left. You get some bits and pieces as you read but... Anyways, his excuse is OK but kinda cowardly. But since he did pull up his big boy underpants and go get her as soon as knew where she was, I was OK with it. he went on a drinking binge for several days and by the time he went to find her at her mother's place, she had moved away

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. It was the perfect amount of angst for me. There's almost no OW/OM stuff.
And there's a sweet little epilogue set a year or so later with a baby on the way.

safety is good Both MCs were true to each other from the first time they meet and neither strays during the separation. Neither was a virgin or the other extreme. Clara questions Wyatt about an OW that rubbed up on him at a bar. It was nothing and I had to wonder why she didn't ask him about her at the time.

Deeper Than Love is fascinating, compact, emotional and full of steam. Ciara and Wyatt had a passionate relationship that imploded leaving both of them heartbroken. It is five months later, they have a second chance at love but there are many things to work out, most of which is miss- communication and lack of trust. The heart wants what the heart wants so dispite all the back and forth and hurt feelings, their love and passion for each other is still potent. Forgiveness didn't come from Ciara until Wyatt made himself venerable by declaring his deepest feelings, which opened the door for her to do the same. The story is brilliantly written, it was easy for me to relate to the emotions and reactions of the characters. A definite MUST READ that will leave you wanting more.

This was an interesting second chance romance. I liked the independence of the main character, but felt like the passion and easy forgiveness of her former lover was perhaps a little too easily given. There is an embezzlement back story that was interesting but didn't capture my attention. The story of the leading man's sister was a great storyline, and I wished it had been explored further. Overall, an interesting book!
