Out of the ashes... Patterson has come to Violetville to start a new life after a horrible breakup, hoping his new career as an antiques dealer will bring him peace. He has always been a kind, gentle alpha. He knows that’s limited his chances to have a family with a traditional omega—they all seem to want a stereotypical romance-novel alpha, one with more brawn than brains.
Things are going well—his career taking off, his home refurbished, his heart mended—when tragedy strikes. After a devastating fire, Patterson is left with nothing but the clothes on his back, the junk in his car, and his beloved cat. At least until his insurance company decides to do their job and take his claim.
Xavier knows that being a tough-as-nails theta makes it unlikely he’ll find an alpha who appreciates his unusual demeanor. Most alphas seem to like their omegas sweet and obliging, but that is okay since he isn’t really an omega anyway. So instead of pursuing romance where he knows none can grow, he pours himself into his work, waiting for the day he might find his true mate. If he can’t have a partner and family of his own, he’ll become the best cop on the beat.
But when Xavier discovers Patterson—now reduced to sleeping in his car—Xavier begins to realize that the partner he really needs was in town all along.
Theta-Missed is a super sweet with knotty heat contemporary mpreg romance featuring a down on his luck alpha, his very alpha-y policeman theta, and Leyla the cat who, as it turns out, saves the day. Theta-Missed is book two in the Theta-Mine series and can be read as a stand-alone.
Lorelei M. Hart is the cowriting team of USA Today Bestselling Authors Kate Richards and Ever Coming. Friends for years, the duo decided to come together and write one of their favorite guilty pleasures: Mpreg.
To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit.):
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth King, 'Save the at he kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times a year (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader, maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B
2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time- reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok). It's like a C-, D
1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
The second book in the series! And as good as the first!
Patterson is a laid back type of alpha. He left his job years before to open up an antique shop. It took a few years but his shop is making a name for him. He;d been doing inventory and looking for items when he finally finished and realized he was hungry, as well as his cat. He ordered Thai and as he was leaving his cat went out the door. At the Thai place he realizes he forgot his wallet so heads back. But has to pull over as three fire trucks are heading down the road to his place!!! A few hours later he;s in his car with his cat and trying to figure out where the insurance company is located. That;s when there;s a knock on his window and there stands a handsome man. He;s a policeman on a horse. Xavier is on his way back to the cop shop when he comes across a car in a fire lane. When he asks the man to come out so he can help, he;s surprised as to his reaction to his smell. Yummy! From this point on both men are thinking unclean thoughts about the other. They;re is definitely something pulling them together but Alpha Patterson is a little lost while Xavier is totally onboard with the let;s get it on. Now they each need to travel a road that seems to split occasionally until they come to understand what;s happening to them. Cute story about two men who are not really looking for love but seem to be on a speeding train towards it. Fantastic story and read!!!

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the story of Patterson, an alpha who ran an antique store from his home. One night when he went for food, he came home to learn his entire house burned down, along with everything in it from his business. When Patterson didn't know what to do, he went to his insurance company, only it was late and they were closed. Xavier was a police officer and when he saw Patterson sitting in his car, he went to ask him why. When they met, there was an instant connection that led to Xavier telling Patterson he could use the spare room at his condo. Patterson was new to town and had nowhere else to turn, so he called Xavier. Patterson was very attracted to Xavier and Xavier knew he had found his alpha, but he also knew he had to tell Patterson he was theta. A theta is a special omega that can only have children with their true alpha and the first time they mate, he will get pregnant. Xavier had to be sure Patterson understood that and wanted to stay with him. Patterson and Xavier make a great couple. They had an instant love bond and were adorable together. I love how protective they were of each other and how they both had dominate qualities. i really enjoyed this second book of this series.
What a great second book in the Theta Mine series! I loved this book! Lorelei has given us new characters who will rock your world. This story has it all. Drama, humor, warmth, acceptance, compassion, passion, bravery, steamy MM sex and a theta pregnancy. And, HEA. Oh yeah, and a great horse. When Patterson loses everything in a fire, Police officer & horse trooper Xavier finds him sleeping in his car. Xavier knows Patterson is his. He just has to clear the air before letting Patterson claim him. Like the fact he is Theta. Theta biology ensures pregnancy on the first try. Instant family. Will Patterson be able to accept that? Add in something hinky going on with the insurance company, and the facts coming to light about the fire, and things will reach combustion level quickly. Steamy MM sex abounds. Don't worry, HEA is assured. You will fall into this book and not want to be pulled out. I couldn't put it down! Due to steamy MM sex, language and mature themes, this book is intended for those 18+ readers.
Theta-Missed is the second book in Lorelei M. Hart's Theta-Mine series. Patterson is an alpha who is not having a lucky time in life.... horrible breakup, house and business burned down and he is looking at the very real possibility of having to live out of his overstuffed car. Enter the sexy officer Xavier... the strong and independent police officer who offers the down on his luck Alpha a bed for the night. When Payterson discovers that his True Mate is a Theta and all that that means, the story get even better. I love these characters, how the Alpha is a bit broken by circumstances and the Theta is a strong man who offers him so much. The story is sweet and fluffy with just a touch of drama so that these characters have something to overcome before earning the ending they deserve. I love this series and cant wait for more sweet stories to come.
Of course the madames Hart would come up with a new type of A / B / O and now T. While I didn't read the First book, after truly enjoying this MM story so much I plan to read the MMM book, THETA KISSED. The concept of a Theta was really interesting as was an unconventional Alpha. There was so much going on making the story quite entertaining. The move from tragedy to triumph was sad, stressful, hopeful, intriguing, and finally wonderful. I really I liked how the Alpha behaved more cordial and unassuming rather than arrogant and macho.
He complimented the Theta who turned out to be a law enforcement officer. A hasty invitation leads to hesitation, but a sweet romance despite the idea of a fire set for insurance fraud. The two fit together so well, I cheered on their deepening feelings. I wanted them to become a mated couple - complete with a MPreg and HEA. I was not disappointed.

You don't need to read the previous book before reading this one (though there is a bit of overlap).
I'm rather liking this Theta concept, it adds a twist to the typical omega setup. Patterson and Xavier don't quite have the typical alpha/omega power balance. Although Xavier is the omega, he often comes across as rather dominate (not surprising since he's a cop) and Patterson has more of the caretaker drive. Though through the story it felt like they began to fall more into the expected roles. This is a rather short story, so everything happens at an accelerated pace, but if you like the fated-mate mpreg trope then this is a good, quick read.
After Alpha Patterson is made homeless by his house burning down he meets Theta Xavier. Going out to get a take out meal saves Alpha Patterson life when his house burns to the ground and leaves Him and his cat Layla with his car and its contents. As he is looking for the insurance office he is approached by a mounted policeman who shows him where to go. When the policeman Theta Xavier finds he has lost his home and had forgotten his wallet when he left he offers him the use of his spare bedroom. Both Alpha and Theta feel the pull of attraction. A MM MPreg romance to relax and enjoy.

Patterson owed his life to Leyla who owned him so thoroughly. Xavier trusted his instincts to help Patterson out in his time of need and gained so much in return. Patterson had a rough go for a while trying to deal with the insurance company and all the drama surrounding the fire, but it worked out better than he expected in the end. It was super sweet what Patterson did about Trigger because he knew how much Xavier loved that horse. I laughed at how Gary always seemed to miss the deliveries because the Theta's deliver so fast.

It seems impossible that one unfortunate event can truly change the course of your entire future. However, that's exactly what happened for Patterson. A quick dash for food, a fire, and in walks fate. Xavier is a horse riding patrol cop, a theta, and happens to be in the right place at the right time. Things move so quickly for these two but it's sweet, sexy, and they're perfect together.
Patterson went to pick up dinner and found his house burned to the ground when he returned. Xavier checks on the car parked illegallyrics and Metta his future in Patterson an alpha, who's house just burned down. He has no Id and no where to go. This is the story of their romance, you will laugh as you watch this story unfold. Enjoy your read.

Xavier is not your typical omega, and Patterson is not your typical alpha, but they are perfect for each other. I enjoyed the way this sweet story mixed the roles. I like variety and to sometimes have things changed up and not what I typically see. The characters were endearing, and the story sweet and easy. There is minimal angst and a modest heat level.

He had a horrible break up and now he is in a new place and working hard to get things much better. His home goes up in flames and all he is left is his car, the junk in the car and his cat. They know getting a mate is going to be difficult. What happens when they find him sleeping in a car? See how they will get on

We meet sweet Alpha Patterson he has just lost his business and home. But luck would have it he also meets his theta mate Xavier. And it you have read the previous books theta’s are special omegas. So this is the start of their HEA.
Loved this insta love story with a bit of a mystery mixed in!

Patterson and Xavier met the night that everything Patterson owns burns down except for his car and his cat. Xavier offers him his extra room while Patterson struggles to get back on his feet. I love how these two work together and how Patterson keeps moving forward. The theta aspect is a great change from Alpha/Omega story lines.
Nice, but too short! Patterson looses his home and his physical business from a fire. Xavier is a cop who offers help. Patterson was not a stereotypical Alpha but Xavier knew he was his. Their personalities complimented each other well. Their journey toward happy had its ups, downs and sideway turns. Absolutely delightful short story. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

The great plot was well written and the characters were so well developed that as I turned each page the chemistry between the characters kept me totally hooked until the very last page!

I felt for Patterson....cheating ex, having to rebuild his life, then gone in under 20 minutes. But out of the ashes by our chance, he meet his mate Xavier. They had their challenges, but they never lost hope or their love for one another. This was a great story.
The chemistry flies between the mellow, laid back alpha who is a little lost and in need of rescue by the driven, equestrian cop the state (beta). I absolutely love the role reversal, but overall for me it came off as typically thin and fluffy Omegaverse fare - decently diverting and enjoyable but not particularly enticing.
m-m omegaverse alpha/omega (theta) Mpreg role reversal romance
