Assignment: Norway

Rate this book
In the fall of 1942, Commander Tony Romella, USN, is sent from London on a Top Secret operation to gather intelligence relative to Hitler's race for a secret weapon to win the war. Tony leads a team of radio intelligence operators deep into the Norwegian forest on a harrowing mission for the British Special Operations Executive. The return trip from Norway to London is also fraught with danger. Tony then finds that being back in London is no guarantee of safety. He becomes deeply involved in the search for dangerous spies operating in the heart of the Allies' intelligence community. Action, political-military drama and his continuing romance make this a very compelling story.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one...not so much. The first half of the book was so slow that I also gave up on it. I understand that intelligence surveillance is a slow process but I don't want to read a daily account of nothing that lasts for months. The significance was explained in the epilogue but it never tied back into any plot. All of the main characters from the first two books were still present & I enjoyed learning about developments in their lives. Hopefully, the pace will pick back up in the next book.

Compelling read.

This is the third book in this series, and Azzole’s forth book. I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Didn’t want the adventure to end. I am pretty sure another is coming and I will probably download on the first day I know of it. Very realistic, almost like reading an autobiography of some fascinating little-known but interesting historical events. Keep them coming!

Loved this book

The best yet! Of course I love the characters and the plot. The twist and turns were wonderful! Would love more with these characters, lot of ground to cover before the war's end. I will recommend!

A continuation of story

It is essential that you read the first two novels, there is little to understand if you are not aware of the previous.

Interesting

I knew very little about Norway 's involvement in WW2 so this novel was informative. All of the intelligence details was difficult to understand.

Story weaves in factual information

Story moves fast and was inter spaced with pictures of that time and place to make more believable. It was well done.
