Wyatt
Everything in life comes with a price; your heart, your sanity, your soul.
I paid for all three when I fell in love with Rora.
Her betrayal left me in shambles, a hollow man filled with insurmountable regret.
I resented her.
And then I hurt her.
Betrayed her in the selfishness of my retribution.
But when I lay eyes on her again, she’s not the same woman I exiled from my past. She’s not the woman I once loved.
Her eyes burn brighter, only with the deepest of hatred.
A hatred that bears my name

Nova
Everything has a meaning; your past, your present, the people that you hold true to your heart.
But what if all three of those play your trial, jury and judge to a crime you never committed in the first place?
The old me died after my conviction, only to come back with contempt and revenge in my veins.
The love and trust are gone while I write my list down of every Judas in my midst.
And I’m starting with him.

1 disappointing STAR

▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬

“For what he stole from me, I'll decapitate what he loves. For his broken promises to protect me, I'll make sure he never feels safe. And where he feels content, I'll burn it to the ground. I’m going to strangle every piece of happiness that he possesses.”

I will never be able to be all right or just forgive and forget what happened in this book.
The way the events were conducted as if they were not relevant and serious, something common... because it is not.

Actions speak louder than words and requests for forgiveness... nothing that comes after erases what was done. And frankly, this excuse of hero is a piece of shit.

So yes I'm beyond pissed with what I just read, it wasn't what I was expecting and I didn't liked this book at all.
Although I really liked the previous book and the heroine, this one here, for me, was a huge and unacceptable mess which gave me a massive headache.
And I just want to forget everything related to this story and characters!

The more I think about it the more dissatisfied I find myself with how this book went. I don't believe there is coming back from what Wyatt and his brother did to Nova; being turned into the police would have been understandable for the "appearance" of taking part in Isla's death, but sold into a human trafficking ring to be sold and bought as a sex slave, when she was innocent and the signs were there in plain sight? No that is not something that is redeemable.

This. Was. A. Wild. Ride. Hollllyyyy.

Grace has outdone herself with this duet and that's saying something since it's her earlier work.

Rora and Wyatt are perfect. There was a short time where I was genuinely rooting for Beast/Noah, but ultimately I'm happy with how it ended up.

I love love love loved these two and wish there was more 😭

(Ok, girl, deep breath, you can do this!) FAN-FREAKING-TABULOUS!!! I LOVED Disorderly and was curious as to how Hazel Grace could top it. Well, she not only topped it, she started adding additional layers and then some! I’m have so many emotions and thoughts swirling through this brain of mine, that taming those is like wrangling the wind. If you think Disorderly took you on hair bending wild ride, welcome to page one of Zealous.
Welcome GIF - Welcome GIFs

*No spoilers here*, but we start the book with Nova and the little dilemma she is in. It’s a shock, but I knew I was in for something, based on the ending of Disorderly. Upon further reading, you begin to get a good sense of the situation she is in. Welcome world to the birth of Nova 2.0! Just when I think Nova can’t get any better as a heroine, she does! Fortitude, determination, grit and a newfound fighter spirit are some of the new characteristic to Nova.

Wyatt and the boys are back and yes Wyatt is still H-O-T and deeply in love with Nova. He is still an a-hole with caveman tendencies, but hello, that’s why I love him!! It’s hard to expand too much on Wyatt without giving something away, but I will say this, we see a different side of him dispersed throughout. There will be moments of intense love and moments of intense loathing. Hazel Grace has developed these characters incredibly well considering what is going on.
Warning GIF - Warning GIFs

Which brings me to my next topic. Be forewarned, there may be triggers in this book. This was beautifully handled with a trigger warning in the beginning by the author. I implore you to give it a try, but you have been warned and if you know you may be sensitive to situations, please don’t write a poor review, because of it.

Zealous was the perfect sequel to Disorderly. Hazel Grace is not afraid to go there. She stayed true to her characters while adjusting them to changing situations. Her ability to suck you in and kick you back out on the other side is exquisite. While you (the reader) think, ‘What the heck’, ‘Oh my gosh, no way’ and   probably most important, ‘What have I just been through?’ Wyatt and Nova are one of those couples that you can’t help but root for, despite their ever-evolving individual characters.

I cried, I swore, I yelled, and I sat on pins and needles. I would go through it all over again, to experience this incredibly sublime writing and gripping story.

Amazing twists and turns....!

I could not put this book down! Without giving too much away - I loved all the hidden surprises and the side characters that left you sitting on the edge of your seat trying to work out what was going to happen next.

It is the second book of a duet and I’m glad I found this series when they were both out because I would have been hanging out for the next one! It continues the story of Nova/Rora and Wyatt ..... and their very unconventional love story. The first book left Nova being betrayed by Wyatt and sold to a sex slave ring after a whole lot of evidence made her look guilty of betrayal and murdering his sister. This book starts at that point and everything that unravels not only between Wyatt and Rora but all of the side players - Rora’s Mum, Paige, Noah, Lev, Jerry the ass. The author did a great job of interweaving the storyline across the duet and certainly left the reader surprised.

Enjoyed the author’s writing and will definitely be reading her work in the future. A great read!

Note: There are definitely some hard themes - rape, violence, murder, kidnapping - so heed the warnings if these are triggers for you.

Mind blown

This series wasn't even on my radar. Somehow, it came across my recommendation list and it piqued my interest. I am thankful it did because I didn't even know how much I needed it.

The storyline, the depth of details, characters, and suspense were all sublime. Rarely, if ever, am I speechless. This author just managed to do it.

Highly recommend.

DNF. Badly written. Knowing her trauma, it was sickening what she sold into. How can you face someone with such a blase attitude after what they did to you, even if he was "remorseful" What a dick!

RATINGS
Overall: 2.2/5
Characters: 3.5/5
Plot: 4/5
Chemistry: 1/5 (First 80% of book 1: 5/5, then it plummeted from there)
Spice: 3.5/5
Pacing: 5/5

MAIN CHARACTERS - Nova/Rora & Wyatt

SYNOPSIS - A young woman trying to start her life over after a past of abuse and stalking ends up entangled with a dangerous man on a mission to get justice for the brutal murder of his sister. Falling hard for each other despite fighting it, their own journeys leading to this point might not have been chance.

REVIEW - GTA - Here We Go Again gifYeahsooo... I cannot stress enough how there was no hope of Wyatt really redeeming himself in this story. Her forgiveness was absurdity to the nth degree. And it really sucks because prior to the events at the end of book 1, I freaking LOVED them. Every scene where they weren't together I was just wanting to rush through until it was over. Their banter and chemistry was phenomenal!! And then.... the ending. When we jump right in at book 2 and what she ends up enduring as a result of everything... Nope. So yeah, this book really didn't stand a chance. The characters got stupid. The MCs romance was dead in the water. It was all doomed from the start.

WOULD I RECOMMEND - No.

Book 2 in the Deceived Duet and after how Disorderly left, I was dying to get stuck in!

Just like the first book, I was completely hooked. I had NO idea how this story was going to go.
And If I am honest, I am a little annoyed with how it all ends.

I hate writing reviews with spoilers. So I am going to try and write this without... but just in case, don't read below if you don't want to know..

I seriously love Noah. I do.
Wyatt. He is a dick. He betrayed her. I don't care what anyone says. What he did in Disorderly is UNFORGIVEABLE!!! He sold her!!! To a prostitution ring!! Like come on!!! There is no coming back from that.
Nova. I wanna slap her. She was so sensible most of this book. And then she wasn't. And I wanted to slap her silly for it.

Then ending. Not happy. Not impressed. It makes me so mad lol

But apart from my anger towards Nova and her stupid choices. I really enjoyed this book.
So now I am anxiously waiting on my man (Noah aka Beast) and his book. Because I love him and I NEED MORE OF HIM!!!

I love Me Some Wyatt!!!

What can I say about Zealous? I freaking loved it, that's what. Its fantastic, it's got some dark parts, but overall an amazing end for Rora and Wyatt.

I absolutely love the way Grace went with this story. Rora's journey through Zealous is amazing, she was already a strongwilled heroine, but in Zealous she was forced to endure hardships that catapulted her strength. And Wyatt, at times I just wanted to throat punch him, but his path down the rabbit hole of misery was amazing. And I may be a little giddy about certian events that I just needed to happen!!

Crazy end to this duet

There was so much going on, I'm completely overwhelmed. I absolutely LOVE Wyatt and Rora together. I'll admit she was pissing me the fck off with her Noah shenanigans, and I was worried it would ruin the story for me. I got so caught up with everything else, it obviously didnt. This was another win by Hazel Grace. Ididnt love this duet as much as the Bases series, but it was still crazy good, and one I will re-read in the future. Take heed to her trigger warning though. This is one of the darkest books I have read, and in comparison to Disorderly, I was a little surprised. If you can handle dark content, definitely check this book out!!

Damn.

I raced to getting book 2 of the duet, not even having a second to write a review because I NEEDED to know what happened. I’m not going to lie… I didn’t think Wyatt would ever be able to fix that, and to be honest I didn’t think I would be able to get over everything Nova went through to forgive him. I’m happy with the ending though and their HEA. This book was filled with craziness, triggers, fights, suspense, smut and trying to figure out what the heck is happening and who done it.

sigh….

So after the excitement of Disorderly I was in the edge wondering what will happen to Rora and what Wyatt’s redemption was going to be. Whilst it was a good read with the mystery twist and you never know who you can trust, I felt let down in how fast Rora forgave Wyatt.
Like he sold you! How can you forgive that! 😖😖
Coming towards the end it felt a tad rush when everything was coming to head (is that the correct saying 🤔).

I still finished it in 1 day and I did enjoy it, but yeah that was the only downside for me, I wanted epic proportions of grovelling.

Wow just wow! She did it again.

Hazel Grace did it again. She sucked me in once again. Just like Disorderly Zealous was full of twist, turns, and lies. And let's not forget the drama. Hazel knocked this one out of the park. I loved every minute of Wyatt and Nova's journey as the overcome tremendous obstacles that threatened to keep them about. I just loved their story from start to finish.

Absolutely recommended

This conclusion to the Deceived duet was more than I could have ever hoped for. So many twists. So many things to work through. And it was effing flawless.
I am absolutely #teamwyattandrora and I don’t think anything could change that.
If you’re questioning whether you need this in your life, the answer is always.

H sold h into sex slavery all for revenge!!? I can forgive a lot of cruel things a H does to h but this is sadly not one of them. There is no redeeming for H in this scenario for me. So hard pass.

I thought after reading Disorderly that Hazel Grace may have been a little lenient with this book….. Boy…. Was I wrong….. Nope, she completely threw everything that I knew around and I had no idea what to do with all the information that she had given us. I thought she was evil with the way she did the last book, but honestly, she is one of the queens of dark, twisted and messed up. I was so engrossed in the story that I just couldn’t believe half of the events that kept happening and the amount of twists and turns that Hazel put in the book was enough to make me feel like I was on a rollercoaster. Seriously, she did such an incredible job with this book and she should be proud of herself because she is extremely talented. I loved everything there was to offer with this book and I highly suggest you give it a read otherwise, you’ll be missing out big time. Hazel hasn’t disappointed me so far, and I have a feeling she’ll continue to grow as an author and do well for herself.

Nova has had her life and heart ripped open and turned over, she’s been accused of killing someone she never did and is meant to be this so called person that Wyatt and his brother have been searching for. However, she’s about to get another few shocks to her system when she realises that Jerry the man that abused her when she was younger is so close to having her in his grasps, her best friend Paige is someone else entirely and the one person who she thought she could count on turns out to have been working with her mother…. Of all people. She has no idea if she’ll ever make it out of the mess that she’s been thrown in by her best friend, but if she does, she’s got no idea if she’ll be alive by that point.

Wyatt’s head is spinning, he thought that Nova was someone else, someone he could trust but instead of looking at everything and believing the girl that he fell in love with, all he can see is rage, anger and is hurting. All he wants is to get justice for his sister, but with so much evidence in front of him he’s unsure what to make of things. He’s got no idea where Nova is, but whilst he loves her, he’s just a mess inside, however it won’t stop him from taking down the queen who killed his sister and he’ll do everything he can to put a stop to her before she takes away anyone else he cares about. But when Nova turns back up, he’s in for a shock because she’s not the same girl she was when he left her? Will he be able to get justice and heal his broken heart or are things about to get a lot worse and complicated for him?

Oh. My. God.
Where do I start?
How do I even begin to explain to you how and why I got so hooked on this story: how I couldn't put it down and didn't rest until I got to the bottom of it all.
And here I thought the 1st book was a wild ride.... Oh boy, was I in for a surprise of a lifetime.
This one knocked it out of the park - several parks over, actually.

We are first reunited with Nova and soon realized the predicament she's in is as dreadful as we could've assumed from last book's final scenes.
I lost count of how many times I cried for her and with her but I'm almost certain that I could give you an exact number when it comes to me feeling absolutely amazed by her show of strength, power, determination and willingness to survive and put a stop to her seemingly never-ending victimhood .

"Nova 2.0" has arrived.

Wyatt... Oh, man. Still HOT AF (yes, I'm aware I'm repeating myself), still stuck in his asshole, caveman-ish ways - which I think we can agree when I say we have a love/hate relationship with and, despite it all, still wildly in love with Rora.

I truly didn't know what to except going into this book and it was better that way, because I can assure you this: absolutely nothing I could've conjured up in my wildest thoughts, would've even come close to what I witnessed unfold before my eyes.

Hazel Grace as the ability to grip you by the metaphorical gut, shake you up and not let go until you come out on the other side, not knowing what the hell just hit you.
And I.LOVED.IT. I mean it. I loved every single second of palpable tension, impending doom, danger and pain, gut-wrenching descriptions and excruciatingly honest exchanges.
I feel like you're there, every single thing: I had this feeling of being watched at all times, I just wanted to look over my shoulder.

"Intense" is the one word I would use to describe Zealous if you asked me to do just that.
I can't recommend it enough.
You can be sure I'll be checking her others book very soon; I just need a minute. 😄

This book lives up to every letter of the title. It's high paced right from the start and doesn't stop. This entire book is the dip in your stomach when a roller coaster jerks your body from side to side. A few things to remember: This is a sequel. I love that Hazel doesn't waste time catching us up too much because it's a sequel, so read book one then come jump into this madness.
This has triggers which Hazel handled perfectly and wrote the hell out those scenes. But you're warned, so don't get offended then leave a nasty review about it.
There will be moments in this book where you hate Wyatt and moments where you hate Rora. There will be moments that you want to maybe DNF it and just effing call it a day so your heart can have a break. BUT if you keep reading, you won't be sorry. This was worth the journey, worth the angst and worth the last two sleepless nights I spent devouring this thing. This was a difficult plot that isn't for the faint of heart or the dainty of writers: it takes skill, grit and balls to pull this off and Hazel has proven that hers have more than dropped with the delivery of this book. Well freaking done.

I don’t even have words to explain just how amazing this book is.

Let me start off by saying book 1 in this series is what got me hooked to this author. I couldn’t put it down and at the end I hated her bc I had to know what happened! It was the most intense cliff hanger I had ever read.
Most of the time I read a book with a cliff hanger and a week later I forget I am waiting for book 2 and never read it. I couldn’t do that with this book! I kept waiting and checking in for a release date. I needed book 2!
Book 2 did not disappoint me! I could not put it down! The twists and turns gave me whip lash! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor multiple times! The way she writes makes you feel like you are Nova! Some scenes gave me a stomach ache bc they were that good! I felt so conflicted! This duet easily has become my favorite of all time. I truly hope to see more of these characters! I don’t feel like I’m done with the disorderly series and hope to see a few more of the guys in the future!

After reading Disorderly, I added it to my top books of all time and let me tell you, not many make it to that list. I LOVED Wyatt 😍 and It is not often an author writes a female character I really like but i wanted to be like Nova. The story built up my love for the characters and their relationship before absolutely gutting me with that ending and I couldn't wait for book 2!

Zealous did not disappoint! I finished it in under a day, eager to see how their story ended. WOW the ups and downs my stomach has been through with this series! I felt every feeling these characters had. I felt anger with them, i felt their love and I also wanted to kick some sense into them in places. But this book was everything i hoped it would be. And I like that Nova was strong in this story and fought for herself when she could of been defeated by the things that have happened. She was feisty and tough and I want to be her when I grow up!

Oh, this was so much better than the first!!

This was intense, dark & dangerous.

From the first few pages, we are right there with Nova while she is raped repeatedly by her captor. This was hard for me to read especially knowing that Wyatt sold her out, even when she begged him to listen to her, he turned his back. I think for me, this is where the last book took the nosedive. But in this one, Wyatt truly cannot forgive himself for what he did to the one and only woman he would move heaven and earth for. I'm glad she forgave him in the end, but I loved seeing him suffer for the shit he pulled. I loved Noah even though he wasn't the chosen one for Nova, in the end, he cared enough to do the right thing and that's all the mattered.

I felt that the writing was superb in this book. Hazel kept that level of intensity up so much that at times I had to put the book down and walk away on several occasions, but it also kept me coming back for more.
