ശബരിമലയിലെ യുവതീപ്രവേശന കാര്യത്തില്‍ സുപ്രീംകോടതി വിധി വന്നതിന്റെ തൊട്ടടുത്ത ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ ഈ വിഷയത്തില്‍ എങ്ങനെ പ്രതികരിക്കണം എന്നറിയാതെ ഒരു പകപ്പ് സമൂഹത്തിലാകെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് കേരളത്തെ വലിയതോതില്‍ വര്‍ഗീയമായി വിഭജിക്കാന്‍ ചില സംഘടനകള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്ന് ഒരു ആക്രമണപദ്ധതി തയ്യാറാക്കി. അത് നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന ചിത്രമാണ് പിന്നെ നാം കാണുന്നത്. ഇതില്‍ ഏറ്റവുമധികം ആശങ്കാകുലരായത് യഥാര്‍ത്ഥ അയ്യപ്പഭക്തരായിരുന്നു. ഈ പുസ്തകത്തില്‍ കേരളത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖരായ എഴുത്തുകാരുടെ, ചരിത്രകാരന്മാരുടെ, ശബരിമല ചവിട്ടിയവരുടെ തീവ്രാനുഭവങ്ങളുണ്ട്. പലവിധ വിലക്കുകളിലൂടെയും ചരിത്രജ്ഞാനത്തിലൂടെയും ശബരിമലയെയും അയ്യപ്പനെയും അറിഞ്ഞവരുടെയും അനുഭവങ്ങളുണ്ട്.

About the author

Lekshmy Rajeev is a poet, columnist and translator.Her poems have been published in reputed literary magazines and journals such as Indian Literature, Poetry Chain, The Little Magazine, Deccan Herald Sunday Magazine, and many websites. Her volume of poetry titled Dusk Diary was published by the Sahitya Akademi in 2011. She was the poetry editor for the website of The British Council for South Asian Women Writers. Her articles have been published in The Hindu, The Indian Express, Sahara Times, The Sunday Guardian, Deccan Herald, Travel X, Kerala Kaumudi and Mathrubhumi. From 2007 to 2014, she worked with Niyogi Books as consultant editor. She lives in Thiruvananthapuram with her husband Capt. D.K. Rajeev and twins Rajeev Adityan and Bhadra Rajeev. Her illustrated book on a temple and deity that attracts the largest gathering of women in the planet , was published by Harper Collins India in July 2016.

എല്ലാ അയ്യപ്പ ഭക്തരും (എന്ന് അവകാശപ്പെടുന്നവരും) നിർബന്ധമായും വായിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ട പുസ്തകം തന്നെ. ശബരിമല - അയ്യപ്പ വിശ്വാസങ്ങളെ പറ്റിയുള്ള ഒരു കൂട്ടം നല്ല /ആരാലും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടാതെ കിടന്ന അറിവുകൾ നൽകുന്ന എഴുത്തുകളും ഒരു കൂട്ടം നിരൂപണങ്ങളും.
