Roxy Sloane is a romance junkie with a dirty mind. She lives in Los Angeles and loves writing sexy, complex stories about pushing the boundaries and risking it all.
These guys are dirty! The background story captivated my interest enough to handle the spicy scenes. God, there were so many of them that I got a little tired of all the steam, not gonna lie. The repetitive dialogue didn't help either. The secrets and connections between the MCs were interesting to follow. Some secondary characters appeared relevant but then disappeared.
On Goodreads, this series is a little messy. I'm not sure if I should move forward with it since I need a calmer book now. I'm exhausted! 😂
This was way better than the first book, and I really like the character of Keely. Figuring out the mysteries and who was behind everything was interesting and the book was definitely written better. My problem still comes from Vaughn and his terminology and borderline stalker/harassment/abuser treatment of Keely. Yes, she is a willing participant but some of how he treats her/talks to her is cringe. I know he's supposed to be dominant and unwilling to let her in, and his acceptance of her as a partner instead of a job did grow in this book. But he is what I call a bad dom, what people who don't truly understand what a dom really is write about. Vaughn got better in this book but he was still hard to accept as someone like Keely would allow in her life, especially after her inheritance.
I like spice as much as the next person but this was just too much for me. It was every chapter and always the phrase “To the Hilt” I just started skimming through those parts, the only reason I read the second book in this series is because I wanted to know how the backstory turned out because the actual storyline was interesting and that’s the only thing that kept me engaged.
I love the story line I was constantly trying to figure out who the bad guys were and hoping Vaughn and Keely success with Ashtons Estate. I found myself staying up past bed time fighting sleep to get to the next chapter it was a Good Read
I liked reading the first book and since it's a series I continued with this book. This had me wanting to keep reading. Wanting to know what was going to happen next. I will definitely be starting book three tonight
This book did not have second book syndrome at all !! It kept you interested in who’s the bad guy but also most importantly giving you the hot and steamy is the first book gave you!
Much better than the first. Kinky, exciting, less talks more sex for those into it. I enjoyed the fact that the main characters didn't stay too long apart. But I little mistery does no harm 😗. We got to know Keely's life more from the first book, but I felt Vaughn ones was still not as clear coz all it says about him is that he was Gigolo and that he discovered that he's father didn't commit suicide rather was killed. Sex and dirt talks was alway repetitive and got boring. The 4 stars is just to emphasize that this was better than the first book. 🤷🏽♀️
The plot was a lot better than book 1, but the amount of smut (like, a lot of filthy words) was too much and off balance. Would have preferred plot over smut and not the other way around.
