Now That I'm With You

Rate this book
Leanni “Lea” Queenly is determined to rebuild the pieces of her shattered heart. Swearing of relationships in their entirety, Lea has grown complacent in her search for love. It’s not until she crosses paths with a persistent, self-proclaimed bad boy that she finds herself reconsidering letting a man get close to her.
Nasio “Nas” King has had issues giving any woman his trust. From a young age he was taught that the only person he could fully depend on was himself and as an adult, that lesson stuck. Finding it easier to be the player than the played. But with fate seeing it fit he’s met someone just as emotionally damaged as him. He is quickly discovering that despite his past experiences, there are still some people worth taking risks for.
Being with a man who is incarcerated is the life that most women don’t envision for themselves, but for Skylar “Skye” Evans, it is her reality. With the love of her life behind bars and no predicted release date in mind, she can’t help but question her future. There is only so much she can do to distract herself from the hardships of her internal conflict and as the days pass. Skye finds herself struggling to continue being the ideal ride or die, despite knowing she still has her entire life ahead of her.
The last eight years of Knox Maximus’s life has been nothing short of amazing. With his 3-year-old daughter, Kassidy, and long-time girlfriend, Morgan, by his side, he has everything he could ever want. As great as things are, he can’t help but feel that something is missing. Knox finds himself seeking some sort of an outlet. When he gets what he’s asking for, all it does is further confuse him about what exactly it is that he needs, causing a rift in the one thing he’d been able to keep sacred for so long.

In this emotionally gripping novel, find out how the love they’re yearning for is fulfilled to mend their pain from the past.

Lea x Nas

This was an enjoyable story for the most part.
Lea and Nas had a rocky, yet entertaining start. But eventually figured it out. I enjoyed their story the most. Knox and Morgan really confused me a bit. Those share a daughter and have been in a relationship for a while. She wants marriage, and he's hesitant. At first, I was rooting for Morgan. I started to side-eye Knox cause I didn’t understand why dude didn't want to marry Morgan. But out of nowhere, Morgan behavior became weird. I didn't see what Knox was seeing in Morgan that made him not want to marry her. I thought I was being gaslit by him.
Skylar was just lost. I just wanted better for her.
This ensemble of characters wasn't too bad. The writing was just a little juvenile. Editing needs work, but an enjoyable read.
This does sort of end on a cliffhanger.

Loved this book, the storyline was awesome. Nasio was something else, and Lea was so naive but they found each other and fell in love. Great book

Good Read!

It took some time for me to like Lea and Nas together but when I finally did Nas was being more out of his shell and being more open. Although Nasio relationship with his mother and grandmother made him closed off to love, he was really feeling Lea. She was hesitant with him as well because he gave off player vibes. Not too mention the first time he tried to holla at her, he was with another woman. I thought the move Lea made with Nasio was rushed though because they both had problems, plus they were new together. Nasio storyline with his mom and grandmother felt a bit incomplete and I would have loved to have more scenes with them in hopes of a resolution like we sort of did with Lea’s mom. And yes, Lea’s mom was a piece of work herself. I would have liked to see it play out either way. Overall, both Lea and Nasio were dedicated to fight their past demons to pursue a love they needed.
Skye’s character was annoying to me at first and how she just gravitated to Lea lol. Eventually their friendship grew on me as the story progressed. Normally when reading stories, the two female character are already friends but seeing how their friendship blossomed was a treat I didn’t know I needed.
Now I was more interested in Knox and Skye, but they didn’t come together until towards the end of book 1. Skye was still connected to her old boo Valentino who was locked up and Knox was still tied to his girl Morgan. I loved Knox! He was such a great dad and man in general but I knew he didn’t truly want to take that next move with his current girlfriend Morgan who was suspect to me the entire book.
Book 2 is about Knox and Skye which I did read and enjoyed more. Not gonna lie, Skye was way more frustrating in book 2. I really wanted to snatch her up😂! There was only one situation that didn’t get brought up but I thought book two was better written overall.

Nasio & Lea

This was my very first read by the author and I enjoyed the characters overall. The storyline was good overall as well. Nasio and Lea both had voids in their life that caused them to be closed off but love has the power to heal all. They were made for each.

In some areas, I would have liked to have seen more emotions in the scenes for some of the relationships that were introduced: Nasio and his mother and grandmother, Lea and her mother and even Monica and Knox. The interactions with these characters seemed forced and missing a genuine connection or some form of an emotional connection whether Good or bad. Nasio’s mother and grandmother did not seem remorseful at all.

I really enjoyed the friendships between Nasio and Knox & Lea and Skye. There was absolutely no doubt of their love and loyalty to one another.

I’m extremely excited to see there’s another part for his Knox and Skye because they both deserve happiness. I’m hoping there’s some conclusion with Monica because that storyline left me with more questions

Overall, I am looking forward to reading the next part and also getting into this authors catalog.

Loved it

I loved the story overall. The relationship that blossomed between Nasio and Lea was amazing they both faced things from their past but also pushed aside the fear they both had about relationships and let it flow which ended with them getting engaged. I am definitely looking forward to Skye and Knox story there were so many unfinished things between them. I absolutely do not believe that Morgan is going to let go as easily as portrayed and I also would like her dirty little secrets aired out. I can also see Valentino becoming a problem since it looks like he may get an early release. So yeah I am definitely hear for seeing how their story goes..

Sorta kinda. Okay

I sorta, kinda thought this story was nice. There wasn't a lot of drama and no petty foolishness to speak about. Lea was so timid in the beginning, I wanted to scream, speak up lady! Then she met Skye whom I wasn't fond of initially. She grew on me like kudzu on a vine. Then Lea met Nasio and her light began to shine brighter. I liked this couple a lot. And Nasio and Knox's bro relationship was nice. Overall, the story was good.

A Great Read!

I started this book and couldn’t put it down. It had just the right amount of romance. The situations and relationships were sweet and ideal and just real enough not to be over the top sugary. This is a book i will read over and over again. I ordered it as apart of my kindle unlimited but I will buy it to keep in my libray

Absolutely loved the storyline. The friendship between Lea and Sky was perfect. They were each other's Ying & Yang. The story had me laughing, crying and reflecting. I can't wait to read Sky and Knox's story. I'm sure Morgan will add a lot of drama. This was my first book by this author, but it won't be the last.

First impressions are not always the most important

Lea and Nas started off shaky, but when that foundation got planted woowee what a man Nas proved to be. This story proved how much our past can hem up our future and why childhood traumas need to be dealt with.
