July 7, 2021Idk why this has so many stars but it's a terrible book, no plot and still manages to end on a cliffhanger of sorts. Absolutely terrible writing, terrible storytelling... So much wrong I don't even want to get into it all.

OMG It seems I waited for Ransom a freakn millennia. But it was so worth the wait. I'm so in love with that biker. I love him. I love him with Hedwig. I loved, he didn't allowed his views, based on his past and how he lived most of his life to affect his feelings at present. He just grabbed his sunshine and it's a done deal.
I liked Hedwig. She's strong, caring and sassy. Perfect match for Ransom. Though, I was a bit irked with Hedwig reactions with Ransom 'biker moves'. You know those. Though, I understand her, bikers can be over the top alphas and pushy, but.... I mean, no one was forcing her to sign up for caveman action. She did it on her own, with a big smile on her face. But seriously, who wouldn't want that action?
And about the story itself.... There's a lot of happening. My mind is a bit spinning from it all. I'm dying of curiosity too. Like.... Sheesh. Esther knows how to hook you. I'm not finished with book at the present and I already need next one ASAP. And that ending.....

I’ve followed Ransom through each Aerion Fury MC book he’s appeared in. A man, who though not a main character, captured my attention in oh so many ways. Now he has his own book and it’s has been well worth the wait. I’m struggling to write a review that doesn’t give away anything, I just want to shout from the rooftops how much I FLOVED this much anticipated book and why. It’s the why that I’m trying to word without giving anything away. Ransom has had so much happen to him my heart has just plain ached, then we meet Hedwig and the lightbulb went off with one of hell of a flash. Pieces of the puzzle just fell into place. All I can say is this book is awesome and Esther really knocked it out of the stratosphere.

No one does alpha caveman biker like EES and Ransom is certainly that. What she also does well....pairs them with their perfect half! Hedwig is not going to meekly stand behind her man which she proves over and over.
This story is about a one night stand that turns into something unforgettable for more reason than one. There are some twists and turns with the MC and it does end on a bit of a cliffy but strap in and enjoy the ride!

OMG What a start to this new series. Ransom and Hedwig story. Once I started this book it didn’t leave my hands till I got to the last page it was that good. It had me gripped to each page to see what happens next. I love all the Esther’s books and like the rest this one leaves you wanting MORE. So worth 5 STARS looking forward to what comes next.

First things first; I freaking love the cover to this book!
This book is book one of the AF MC Ohio duet. I one clicked this book the day it was released but chose to wait until book two had been released to read them. I was so happy I made that choice. The cliffhanger at the end of this book had me eager to dive in to book two.
This story is short, fast paced and action packed. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
The chemistry between Ransom and Hedwig was clear to see and I loved them as a couple. I liked that they took the time to get to know one another before getting physical again. I loved that Ransom was there for Hedwig. Despite his past, Ransom was determined to step up. Everything felt like it was fate to him. I loved how protective and possessive Ransom was of Hedwig. When Hedwig’s mother was being a pain in the a** he stood up to her.
The ending of this book has me eager to start the next book.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait to dive into Wendy and Casey’s story!

Wow! This story was awesome! I loved Ransom and Hedwig's unconventional start that led them to their happily ever after and I also loved the secondary characters as well, they gave me a few laughing moments too.
The chemistry between Ransom and Hedwig was so hot, believably sexy and I absolutely can't wait for book two because I know it's going to be as awesome as this one if not more due to the story and plot-line, something I won't spoil for anyone so go ahead and read this story because I can guarantee you that you won't regret doing it at all ;)

Ransom is the ultimate alpha bad boy Biker- that you wouldn't take home to your mum and dad. Yet, Hedwig doesn't see one imperfection with him. Perfection- just like this latest, first in the series book by Esther! The suspense and characters made this a page turner and a story that I immersed myself in completely. A cliffhanger at the end, but it's worth waiting for a short time to find out what comes next in Esther's brilliant mind and in the AF MC Ohio Book 2.

We finally get to meet the mysterious woman that Ransom was watching in the first book!
Hedwig is sweet but fierce. She is the perfect combination for the tough as nails enforcer.
Esther Schmidt does it again. She keeps you hanging on your seat and dying to know what she could possibly throw at you next!

I have truly enjoyed the AF MC Ohio books! I could read Esther E. Schmidt MC's all day!
Ransom and Hedwig are the true Odd Couple, but this odd couple are better together than apart. They start out as neighbors, then lovers, then would-be parents, then claimed, married, and parents for sure, but there is so much AF MC they are caught up in.
Ransom is tattooed head to toe, and Hedwig is not put off by this one bit. I have to say, for me that would be hard not to overlook, but God bless her. She is a gentle soul with a backbone of steel, and a heart that makes Ransom finally see all that he has been missing all the years he has been a Nomad biker! Hedwig is his light, his heart, his everything, and he cherishes her, loves her and can't wait to be a father to their child.
Ramsom was badly injured in a MC/Gang dispute, but Hedwig is a doctor of physical therapy, and she tells him if he works hard with her he will ride his bike again, and he will hold their child safely in his injured arm. Ransom is all in for this, and there are days he hates her for how she pushes him, but he knows she's right, and he pushes himself to be the best man for her and their unborn child.
Casey is Ransom's club brother, but more a brother of the heart than of blood, and they inherited the house Ransom hides in a few times a year to recharge. Casey spots Wendy and Hedwig next door, and he is all in for Wendy, and Ransom laughs at him. Casey is an FBI agent, what he always wanted to be, and he work particularly difficult cases, but when he sees Wendy he is sure there is the woman he is meant to be with.
These 4 friends realize they are a family now, and will do everything to be safe together, and grow together.
This is a loving and touching story about a hardened Nomad biker that finds his light in Hedwig. He is loyal to his now permanent AF MC family as well! Great read, don't miss it!

Just finished reading Ransom. I am at a loss for words right.. well no I was lying....I have lots of words running in my head. Just have to sort them out. So bare with me here.
We met Ransom earlier in the series. He was not Prince Charming. But you just knew deep down in our hearts that he was going to win us over. And that he did. With a bang.
Boom, there he is...
He is tattered biker with a heart of crome. Just my type of man. So ladies he is mine. All of Esthers men are mine. Just so there is no confusion. Hands off. 😀.
Hedwig. Absolutely adore that girl. She is hilarious,strong and smart. Rocking name too.
This book have everything. Action,love, suspense.
So my conclusion is this... If you are reading my review, you need to read this book. You will not regret it. I promise.. cross my heart and all that.
You do not need to read the other books in this series but you absolutely should.

Esther never ceases to amaze me with her stories, they always grab my attention and hold it, have me on the edge of my seat or melting in a puddle of ooohs I love that. This book doesn't let me down, with all the feels and highs and lows. The characters are so easy to love, Ransom has never known love really and it is over welming for him when he has this instant attraction to Hedwig. She is calm, strong and caring, both for her career and to Ransom. I can't wait for the second book in this duet especially since the ending of this leads into it, to get more of these awesome characters is a big bonus. Esther is a one click certainty for me every single time and if I had the money I would also buy them all in paperback as well because they are so good, plus the covers are are stunning so would look fantastic on my book shelves. Another fabulous 5 star read, i really wish sometimes I had the option to score higher

First, I hate the name of the FMC, Hedwig. Not only is it a horrible name, no one in the book even blinks at it. You'd think she'd at least go by Heddy or something, but other than her friend calling her that a few times, she goes by Hedwig. Sounds like a cartoon villain. So, I decided to ignore her name and focus on the story.
Book one ends in a cliffhanger. Hedwig and Ransom are together and happy, but there is an ongoing threat to them and her friend Wendy. Book two will cover Wendy's story with Ransom's brother Casey.
The writing is a little shaky, especially early in the book and it was easy to see that this is some of the author's earlier writing, however the story held my interest and the characters are very interesting. Ransom goes from a wandering shell to a man determined to do the right thing and dedicated to Hedwig. I'm hoping to see more of them in book two.

I love a short cliffhanger..
Hedwig and Ransom are neighbors and hot as hell when they’re in close proximity..little did they know that a one night stand would turn into lifetime complications, revelations, new love, and all types of new changes. I hope they’re up for the wild ride coming their way.
Love this book...even if there was hardly any sex 😄 you didn’t how the MC was trying to figure out the threat, and no baby..when I got tot the end..I screamed when I realized that this will be book 1 of 2..Casey and Wendy will round it this duo of brothers and we’ll figure out..who’s after the new MC, will Casey quit the FBI, will Casey save Wendy and claim her without getting punched in the face..again. I only have a week to find out in the conclusion of this story.

Ransom is a hit it and leave it kind guy but things change for him one Christmas. Now with the new direction his life is taking can he truly step up to the plate?
Hedwig is a kind sweet soul who loves to help others out, and very rarely does things randomly. She wants to help out her neighbour in way that she can. But things take a change when her best friend gets her involved into something she had no idea about.
Be prepared to laugh and tisk over these two antics as they try to figures out how to navigate their lives

Ransom is a man who keeps to himself, he always has been a bit of a loner. Ransom notices his neighbor and is intrigued by the beautiful woman, he wants her but only for one night. One night with Hedwig is the moment memories are made of and Ransom watches from afar but when he returns home months later he finds that Hedwig is going to be in his life more then he could want, can he actually have it all or is this another disaster in his life waiting to happen?
This was exceptionally good. Hedwig is a firecracker and Ransom tries to push her away but she is not having it. Full of great chemistry and really enjoyed how the story unfolded. Look forward to the next book.

I really like it but it wasn't awesome. I've read a lot of Esther's books and loved all of them. This one just read funny to me. Not flowing. There was quite of bit of repetition and it was all over the place, but I still really enjoyed it. I read Aerion Fury MC series so long ago that I don't remember any of it so this is all brand new to me.
Ransom & Hedwig, what an interesting pair. Ransom is definitely a big bad alpha male with some marshmellow in the middle. Hearing about his childhood was heart breaking. Hedwig (interesting name by the way) is funny, strong and sassy too. Together they are great! Interesting ending, so I'm going to get right to the next book.

HOLY CRAP talk about a power house of a book. Yeah this one right here, fan-freaking-tastic . Ransom is way over the top alpha but you wouldn't want him any other way!!!! Strong, damaged and in control . Hedwig is independent, strong and sassy ,I love her character , I think she is the best female character so far.( Just my opinion) 😉 THERE is not one thing that I didn't LOVE. The writing, the story line the characters are absolutely perfection. Cannot wait for book 2😃 Loved loved loved this book💖💖💖💖💝💗💛💚💙💋

One sitting read, couldn’t put it down, as is the case with most of the books written by Ms Schmidt. I’ve been looking forward to this book ever since reading the Aerion Fury first box set. Have fell in love with the Aerion Fury and AF MC characters, would love to see a second generation. Regardless of if it’s a contemporary or paranormal book Ms Schmidt writes she grabs you in the first few pages and doesn’t let go until the end, which leaves you wanting more!

Just read this in one sitting and going straight into book two. From the outset there's plenty of heat between Ransom and Hedwig. Neither backs down when their fighting for what they believe in . The story runs at a sprinters pace and it's a great ride. Enough club action to leave you wanting more.

Omg
Omg I didn't put this book down from page one to the last period I was sucked in. Loved the twist ending. I was determined to wait to read both books together but it was hard to keep from reading this when it came out but I'm glad I had the will to wait.

I wish that Hedwig’s character had been a little more developed and not so quick to anger. But Ransom is just so hot. I loved their story, overall, and can’t wait to read the next installment with Wendy and Casey.

What a rush from start finish. You are pulled into this from the very start. Random is a nomad and never wanted to settle down. All this changes when he has a one night stand with his neighbour. It's a fact paced book that you just can't put down.

Loved it!!
I really liked how Ransom is this big scary dude with a soft side for his lady. And i liked how Hedwig is strong & self assured, not a doormat. Only thing i had trouble with was her name, everytime i read it for the first 50% of the book i kept picturing an owl lol!

I love Esther
Omg I love this. Esther has always been one of my MC and Mafia go to authors. I really enjoyed Ransom and Hagwag's story and can't wait to find out what happens next in part 2. AF MC Ohio is going to be amazing to get to know, I can't wait.
