The storyline was fascinating and very gripping, but overall I felt the storyline and plot wasn’t well developed. I was shocked to see how short the novel was (250 pages). I had already read “The Nightingale” which was an amazing novel with a very well developed plot and characters. Overall I think it was an interesting story, but as detailed and in depth as I would have wanted.

This novel showed both the unimaginable brutality of the camp and the remarkable human connection that give the strength to endure. The story moves quickly despite its heavy subject matter.
