Issues
I can honestly say this book had some issues for me. First things were a little inconsistent like first Clarice was David’s fiancé then wife then back to fiancé. Second Kyle is kind of a sleaze. He is a love them and leave them type, gets hard when he sees his ex wife bent over then lets his ex wife kiss him without pushing her off. Granted he didn’t kiss her back but he took his time to stop her which in the process hurt the heroine Lucy. I am not down with these kind of heroes. He says his ex was a nightmare but still gets hard remembering how good the sex was between them while being in love with the heroine, not cool.

It’s mostly safe but I gave examples above to be wary about. H is a manwhore and h is a virgin. No abuse. No om drama and lots of ow drama explained above.

1+, barely rounded up to 2 stars.
So many things bothered me about this one:
* H is paying her to act as fake fiancee, then wonders if she's a gold digger or serious enough about the relationship. Um, you've known her 2 days, so what have you given her to be serious about, besides the paycheck??
* Speaking of what to be serious about, what on earth is the connection between the leads? Never felt any of the chemistry between them. I like my flirty, bantering leads, or ones that I can see grow because of each other. I know it's a short story, but still, you can squeeze in a little of that what they're not in the bedroom.
* Lucy struck me as immature throughout, often irritatingly so. Yes, she's 19, but you can still be more self-aware than she was. I mean, from the very get-go, why did she think she was being interviewed for this position? She's 19 with no marketable job skills, but is interviewing for the executive secretary position for a billionaire CEO?
* H lusts over ex-wife with h standing right there. Skirts the edge of cheating without crossing over. But when he immediately is wondering why Lucy's with him... yeah... Definitely a big ol' barrel of unresolved issues.
* The whole premise of the need for the fake fiancée was weak. His mother thinks everyone is out for his money, yet is trying to set him up with her friends' daughters. Friends who also still live in the trailer park where she does? Not to be stereotypical, but wouldn't someone who's living in a trailer be just as (or even more) likely to end up focused on his money than someone he meets in the city through another venue?
* The story kinda wanders about, cramming too much into under 100 pages. OW drama, friends, family meddling, lots of "never again" "more more more" whiplash-inducing emotional flip-flopping...
* Plus editing errors - word choices, typos, etc. - need to be looked at.
Only reason it's not flat-out 1 star is that there were some decent steamy scenes (as long as you ignored Lucy's emotional waffling), there were some moments that made me chuckle, and that it was a very fast read. If it'd had to wade through 300 pages of this nonsense, I wouldn't have made it.

For Real?
I couldn't finish it. I really made an effort up to 39% of the story, but really couldn't see the point. The story is so unrealistic, even in an over-the-top way. Kyle, the "hero" has doubts about Lucy, the 19 year old girl he hired to be his fake fiancee, because she is having doubts about his intentions, and this after only having known each other for TWO DAYS!!! I was once a 19 year old chubby girl having spectacular sex like Lucy with a sexy older man, and I was constantly second guessing our 6 month relationship before we got engaged, so I know how a character like this thinks. It's been 2 FREAKIN ' days! Of course she's thrown off balance! But the author has Kyle with misgivings? Be serious! It was just too ridiculous for me to keep reading. Two stars for good sex scenes.

It was okay.
It just lacked the finesse of a quality plot line and editing. Even short stories can pack a punch when done well. This was subpar. It had potential because I didn’t want to see how it ended but it was just too rushed in all the wrong places. The intimate scenes were dirty but boring and had continuity issues.
Besides that, I thought the FMC was an horny idiot. Not really anything to like there. The MMC came off as a victim of circumstance when it came to his ex but really I think the author wrote him clearly enough that he was confused by still wanting his ex while being scared of her. Not exactly a romantic figure there huh.

Lucy is 19 and looking for a job so she can keep her studio apartment and go back to college and make something of herself. Her friend refers her to Kyle for an interview and she knows what Kyle likes.
She is nervous with Kyle as he is sexy.
Kyle knows why Lucy was referred to him and he ask her to go to NY for 3 days to pretend to be his fiancé. Can both of them make it through his mother and ex-wife? Will Lucy fall hard?
A fun quick read. Kyle really enjoys Lucy's company but she is guarded. At the party all hell breaks loose and the two have to come together with their real feelings. The story was great.

So many issues - he basically tricks her, they have sex but neither mentions her virginity, she tells him no and the next sentence is 'One more time' - he wants her for keeps but offers money to bribe her in the beginning and then wonders if she is a gold digger? He gets a hard on watching his ex-wife bending over a shelf in the store and has memories of how good it was? Then doesn't make a real effort to shut down her advances? WTF! It was all over the place & I was really annoyed. I will never read this author again!

First off, I felt like I had high hopes for this book but it fell a little short for me....Didn’t like Kyles character. Too dominant in a bad way. The choke hold during sex thing made me extremely uncomfortable. The whole thing had a fast vibe that just screamed uncomfortable to me. Didn’t like the excessive family drama. Would’ve loved to see more David/Clarice action. And also Kyle and Lucy’s wedding. I did like Lucy’s character description but like I said, the rest of the plot and book fell short for me. 2/5 stars 🌟🌟

I am not impressed there was not even anything original in this so call book. Most of the content was sex which I am not opposed to at all but, there was NO story I am looking for originality, keep me guessing and showing me that in fact there’s a couple in Love there. There was none of that in thes book, the H/h are one dimensional no connection whatsoever. I almost gave up there but I was at doctors office and had no choice but to finish it. DNR.

I gave it two stars I just couldn't get over the fact that this nineteen-year-old girl ( did I mention she was a virgin) walks in his office and he hires her as a secretary with no skills and offers to pay her to pretend to be his fiance to take home to his family he's thirty-nine. where's her family ? what I did like was there were some funny parts just not my cup of tea.

H is a creep. Says he is a commitment phobe, goes after h cause he’s crazy for her, forgets to mention he has an ex-wife, still is turned on by the ex even though he hates her and “loves” the h. The h is an immature woman-child. I got whiplash with the “no we can’t “ and then “just the once”, “this can’t happen again” etc, etc. Can’t see that relationship lasting despite the epilogue. Can’t stand either one of them.

Not so good
The story went in to many directions. You are lead one way and than it goes in a different direction with there thinking and the story line. He see his ex and gets excited at first and being with the girl that he loves at the same time? The story was confusing and stupid. If you write books like this , I personally will not read.

Undecided
I felt like I was on a roller coaster reading this book. Couldn't get hooked and the storyline kept changing. Buy the middle I was halfway expecting Kyle to be a shifter because it was alpha, fake not fake fiancee, stay away, stAy together, surprise baby, and so on. I will read another book before I make a decision about the author

Kyle and Lucy
This book is filled with steam! Lucy has curves and self doubts herself that a man like Kyle Madsen could be interested in someone like her. This is a nice short read, the only reason why I have the four star rating, is because I got confused a few times due to a few contradictory paragraphs. Easily enough I was able to determine what the author had intended.

DNF: Made it to the last chapter and then skipped the rest. The whole storyline was stupid and the h was obnoxious. She squeezes a whole lot of sex into the book and no story. Plus there was a ton of inconsistencies in the storyline. I think I’ve given this author enough tries and I just don’t like her stuff.

Enjoyed the story for the most part. It’s just that at the end, I felt it was incomplete. Thought Lucy gave in to Kyle to marry him awfully quick. And his brother David and SIL Clarice went from avoiding Kyle to helping him out was so fast it made my head spin.

This was just a straight up TRAIN WRECK. Poor writing and editing. And I call bulls**t on "no cheating". The H gets turned on and imagines sex with his EX. While he's in a grocery store WITH THE h! I will not be reading another by Hazel again and recommend anyone with a narrow opinion on what counts as cheating (aka thoughts count too) to steer clear.

Unbelievably bad
This is my first book by this author, and it will be my last. There was No character building or story told. The book was just sex, and even that wasn't written well. Terrible H and h. Thankfully, it was free on KU.

Very Corny and Predictable
This book was very corny and predictable. I wish there was more sustenance in the read. The characters were very simple and didn’t have any kind of depth. I just felt like it was to simple.
