When this highly anticipated book showed up on my kindle, to say I all but screeched in excitement is an understatement.
The Eagle Elite series is hands down my all time fav Mafia series. And with each book I can always expect Rachel Van Dyken to have my eyes glued to the pages in front of me.
Debase is technically the final book in the Eagle Elite series while at the same time being Book 1 in the Elite Bratva series. First let's just say I love that Rachel is giving us more from this world she has created.
Debase is about Andrei Petrov and boy oh boy does this man have some serious demons. In fact my heart absolutely broke for him and all the weight he seems to carry on his shoulders. He was intense, closed off and absolutely ruthless. But beyond that tough exterior lies a broken boy and all he needed was someone to show him that evil doesn't get passed down and one does not always have to suffer because of those before them.
Don't get me twisted, these mafia men are all ruthless and it's partly why I love them so much. They will bring the wrath but when they love it's with everything. As with every Eagle Elite book there are twists and this one is no different. It's got all the twists, all the suspense and with all the heavy Rachel still manages to break up the moments with some absolutely hilarious interaction that had me giggling and smiling so hard.
For those fans of this series and this world you will not be disappointed, for those looking to read a suspenseful read featuring intense characters then look no further then Debase. Absolutely fantastic, I hope this world never ends.

This book deserves more than five stars in my opinion!!! I loved it!!! Considering how dark and disturbing it was at times, I am quite surprised I loved it as much as I did! I couldn’t look away though, and for every brutal, depressing moment; there was a beautiful, soul shattering moment waiting around the corner!
Andrei is one of the best anti-heroes I’ve come across. I had begun to wonder if the author could humanize him in any kind of way after some of the things he did. When his human side did peek out, it was something to behold. His vulnerability when it came to Alice was inspiring... it truly was. I loved how these two were born in darkness, but found light in each other! When it comes to all consuming romance, I melt every time! Their love for each other was so intense and possessive... and it was so damn beautiful!
Of course, I have to say that I loved how we got to witness the banter between Andrei and the Eagle Elite guys! They brought comic relief to this story and it was definitely needed! I highly recommend this story, although I will say it’s best if you read the Eagle Elite series first. You get all the history, plus the emotional attachment with all of the guys, just makes it that much better!

A special note for Eagle Elite readers...yes this is the last book in the series but DONT freak out, its also a special book b/c its the FIRST book in the new Elite Bratva Brotherhood series which will still feature all the italians you've grown attached to! I'm introducing new family members from the Russian side and combining the Russian/Italian series ;) It's still mafia and you'll still get plenty of Nixon/Chase/Sergio/Dante/Phoenix/Tex/Andrei (yum)!

This book, this book is absolutely brilliant. I honestly didn’t know what would happen in the end. This author, I absolutely adore her writing, she had me hooked and I couldn’t stop because I HAD to find out what was going to happen.
I love Mafia tropes, they are not my go to, BUT I have to say, this read was everything I needed. And more.
Andrei & Alice, in the crazy mafia world, full of killing, and winning, and all the caos, these two found each other at the right time. They come from different blood lines, families that each other hate. Both definitely not looking for relationships, so very far from it. Both have had sexual abuse in their past, a past full of horror that each of them are very lost in. So when Andrei locks eyes with Alice, the light switch flips on. When life puts your saving Grace right in front of you, what do you do? Especially when your entire family, all your friends will kill her if her name gets out. I really don’t want to go into detail because if you’re like me, I want little detail on these amazing Reads. It’s good to experience it raw. Capture you and hold you prisoner right till the end. I can not wait for this series to continue. Bring it on RVD, I’m ready (I think) 😘😘

When I started this one, I had read some books (not all yet) in the "Eagle Elite" series, and so I was very curious about this new spin-off. It was said that this story was a complete stand alone, but I have got to be honest here and say that I was a bit confused when I started this one, as to who everyone was and what their "place" in the story was.
So I went back to the Eagle Elite series and did some more (re)reading...it did help. I still have some I need to read, but I have a bit of an idea which person is behind most the names now. I do think this story could be read as a stand-alone. but you won't have all the knowledge about everyone. So my advice would be to actually read some of the "Eagle Elite" books. It makes it that much more enjoyable. At least, that's how I felt.
Now for those who haven't read the previous series and don't feel like reading it first...no worries. The author does not leave us completely in the dark. At the beginning of the book, there is a list of names (a bit of a family tree) which shows us exactly who is who. So there you go ;)
I am a big fan of Mafia-type books. I think that's because I really love me a big bad anti-hero and that is what most of them "Made Men" are
The previous series was all about the Italian Mafia, but this one...this one also brings us the Russian one... the Bratva.
Blood in. No out.
Compared to the first Mafia book I read by this author...this one is way darker. The series really evolved. What I loved most about it though, was that it wasn't all darkness. There were also some nice laughs here and there and for me, that's what really broke the tension.
Andrei is definitely the sort of (anti) hero that I love. Constantly battling his demons and fighting his way to freedom. Torture is his specialty.
Alice, captive 632, is part of the "De Lange" family, though I am sure she wished she wasn't. Her past is pretty horrifying. Even though she has no reason whatsoever to trust anyone, especially not a man...she sees something "more" in Andrei. There is an instant sort of connection between the two.
This book kept me at the edge of my seat from the very start, and I really enjoyed reading it. I can't wait to see what's next, but first I am gonna finish every book I skipped in the "Eagle Elite" series.

Going into this book, I prepared myself. We know Andrei Petrov from the previous books, and we know he's one of the cruelest men alive in the Russian mafia. Only twenty-two years old and he has seen the worse there is to see. So I was prepared for all the hate and bad in the world. What I was not prepared for, was to absolutely, wholly fall for this broken man.Skin made me flinch.
It was too personal.
Too warm.
Too soft, delicate.
I did better with death.
Alice De Lange, or as Andrei insists on calling her, six thirty-two, tortured by the two people who are meant to protect her, her father and brother. Now she's been brought to Andrei's club, from one hell into another. But she's different from the other girls, while they cry and scream, she sits in her room in peace, lays on her bed, and relax. As if she's not in hell itself. But she's a De Lange; she comes from the family that is being executed, how will she stay safe when she's right under the nose of the mafia?Three days of watching her lay across her bed, arms spread out like she was on a damn vacation in the Caribbean. A small smile on her face as she fell asleep like she was finally at peace.

Now that I finally decided to pick up this book, I'm finally whole. When Andrei was first introduced in the EE series, he intrigued me. Such a coldhearted young man, who would ever love someone who treats woman the way we were shown he did. But this book shows the real Andrei.
Is he cruel? Yes.
Does he transport and sell women? Yes. But there's a real gut wrenching story behind that and to get to know the real Andrei, you NEED to pick up this book.“You can kiss me now.”

I lost my effing mind over this book! Before I even flipped open my kindle app, I know Andrei would be the BBF for me. And man oh man did the author deliver. He is the fictional man of my dreams!
If you’re looking for a romance with bite and grit, this is it. It’s so well plotted and executed perfectly. I was alternately gasping and swooning throughout the book. While it was dense in spots (I have not read the previous series - Eagle Elite) due to the family histories and character backgrounds, I was never lost and was thoroughly entertained. I loved it immensely.
The characters are perfection
The writing is impressive
The storyline knocked my socks off
Andrei Petrov and Alice De Lange are such memorable characters. Their family ties nearly destroyed them and put them in the most difficult situations, but they are also strong, resourceful, and resilient. I loved loved loved it. I could probably wax poetic for another for paragraphs, but your time would be better served reading this book instead of my review. Grab it NOW.

Debase is one hell of a ride. There's so much build up and it gets darker and grittier. It's the first book in the Elite Bratva Brotherhood series and I'm already invested with the upcoming novels as we meet new characters. You may / may not read Eagle Elite series but I recommend you do so you can follow the entire story as this book (Debase) is set in that world. My favorite characters from Eagle Elite played a part here (Hello my baes Sergio and Chase Abandonato!)
The story follows Andrei Petrov, the sole heir to the Petrov Bratva. If you recognize him in the Eagle Elite, he's the Russian who allies with the Italians. Supposedly he's the nemesis but I cannot tell you the reason why he's a double agent. Andrei is calculating, ruthless and stoic. He's raised in an abusive household and his father took away his innocence except his virginity. He promised he won't be like him. A misogynistic rapist. Then he met someone. He doesn't meant to keep her. She's bound to be sold. After all, Girl #632 is a De Lange. The enemy of the four most powerful mafia families and this time, he'll do everything to secretly keep her safe from the Italians.
Alice is no different from Andrei. She's been abused by her own family. Deep down she knew she's safe with Andrei though he's rude to her in the beginning. She'd rather die than to be with her own family. This lady is as tough as nails and what she went through the last 20% of the book makes me want to cheer her on. Her bravery and resilience. Just wow. Her eccentric personality captivated me and she's adorable.
Andrei and Alice are a wonderful match. I enjoyed the angst, the tension and the slow burn romance. Both of them slowly overcame the devils of their pasts and learned trusting each other. The love between them was heartfelt. Through darkness and light, they conquer it together.
The best part of this book was the plot twist. Holy crap. Blood in. No out. My mouth is zipped for that part. I don't have a clue about the next book but I'm indeed excited to find out whose story is next. ;) Once again, Rachel Van Dyken amazingly built this mafia realm.

DAMN what the hell did I just read!?
This has to be the hottest most out of this world book from RVD that is a game changer in the Eagle Elite World!
I can’t even put into words how this book blew my mind. You get the real underbelly of the Mafia world and finally answers to some of the burning questions fans have had since Eulogy.
BRAVO Rachel on taking your fans through this mind bending journey and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Title: Debase (Elite Bratva Brotherhood #1)

Here's the thing that I find most fascinating about Rachel Van Dyken. Call it whatever you want..mafia/organised crimes, it's a trope I adore and have read countless books under that umbrella but somehow RVD writes it in such a way that I don't feel a sense of deja vu. every time I read one of her books, I feel this sense of magic and awe that just refreshes my love for a mafia/organised crime romances.
I have shouted my love for her Elite series and when I read that RVD was writing a spin-off series and that too with Andrei as the male protagonist? I JUMPED with joy!
DEBASE is dazzlingly brilliant! I was swept up into the story and I honestly never wanted it to end. I was literally breathless with all the emotions coursing through my veins.
I admit that I went into this book with such high expectations and I can say with utmost confidence that Debase is worth it all.
Having been an ardent fan of the Elite series, I knew going into Andrei's story that it was going to be an experience to behold. I was right. Andrei and Alice's story is sizzlingly with darkness, angst and grit.
I honestly feel like I am under a book spell because these two characters are flipping' AMAZING!!!!
I loved the cameos made by the characters from the elite series! They are some of my favourite characters of all time and they are welcome anywhere- anytime hahahaha
Debase is AWESOME! This book gives me chills....I loved the bond of friendship, brotherhood and surprisingly the sheer humour within the banters but most of all I loved Andrei and Alice.
Debase is LIVE so grab it right now! HIGHLY Recommend it!

Lord I need to catch my breath from all the amazingness that is Andrei Petrov. While this is the final book in the Eagle Elite saga, Debase was an amazing standalone that was the perfect first book in this author's new Elite Bratva Brotherhood series. I for one loveeed Andrei and his obsession and adoration for Alice De Lange.
A man shrouded in darkness forced to commit acts of violence that left him drowning in memories of blood and violence. But when he meets Alice, he feels that one thing that has eluded him his entire life - hope and light. She electrified and resuscitated his dead heart. But will he be able to save her without his own demise?
OMG the banter in the book gave me lifeee. The brotherhood and the relationships and the jokes. I burst out laughing so many times. But the way they loved their women and the sanctity of their families. Lord this book was fire!! RVD did the damn thing and then some!! The sparks, the banter, the brotherhood, the gritty darkness!! This author really wrote one of the best mafia books all time and now I want more!! I'm always late to the party but dammit I eventually show up and now seriously can't stop screaming how amazingg it was!!! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Bear with me because this is series is hard to review without spoiling, but I promise no spoilers!
Dark. Twisted. Raw. And yet….Funny. How am I laughing during all this darkness? Because Rachel Van Dyken creates these terrible yet…loveable characters who embrace their darkness and just lie in it. I adore the banter between these guys from all of the previous books. I could read an entire book (or text message chain) of just these guys talking to each other!! Rachel takes all of her characters with her in this series, so we can follow them and always get more of each couple/character. Because I ALWAYS WANT MORE!!
Andrei. The tortured anti-hero. Well, and the anti-hero who also like to torture. Torture is his specialty. Andrei’s history is dark and unthinkable, but he is trying to come out of that darkness. Unfortunately, he has to endure it until he can be free of it completely. He has a plan to be free, but one girl is getting in his way, in his mind….and in his pants. Andrei is constantly wearing a mask, hiding who he really is and his scars. He doesn’t allow himself to trust others easily.
There is a clear comparison between Phoenix and Andrei. As a lover of everything Phoenix (He’s mine!), I quickly became obsessed with Andrei as well. They have a similar past, and Phoenix helps Andrei in his own twisted way, helping Andrei find some light in all of the darkness.
Alice. I love the heroine in this book. Much like the previous heroines, Alice is a strong woman. But unlike the previous heroines, she isn’t jaded. She has been through the unthinkable and struggles trusting people, especially men. But this doesn’t stop her from seeing the (potential) good in Andrei. Of course, Andrei is always pushing her away because he doesn’t want to taint her in any way, but he can only resist for so long. Andrei ends up having to protect her and the rest is for you to read and find out what happens. 😉
This is technically a spin-off of the Eagle Elite series, so I am uber excited about where she is going with this spin-off!! BUT I would definitely recommend reading the previous series because ALL of the characters are included in this book. I love the multiple points of views because there is always something happening, and she keeps you guessing the whole time!

How can i possibly form words to do justice to how this amazing work of art makes you feel or think ??...i simply cant find strong enough words to discribe it!!
Ive been on the ee journey from right back in 2014 and chase stole my heart in elite, and never gave it back that is until andrei , oh how he came crashing though and took it in such a huge way!!
Andrei is a killer, a lethal monster with no feeling and no fear and nothing to live for other than bringing down the family business. He doesnt believe he is worthy of anything with the amount of blood on his hands that will taint and ruin anything he touch's and nightmares he dreams.
"Because the worst thing the monster could do was believe he could be anything other than what he was born to be"
Can alice de lange be his reason to live or will she be his ultimate betrayal ?
This book is everything and more!! i was so not ready to say goodbye to the family's and was so pleased to learn that its not goodbye its lets take it to the next level and oh boy does rachel step it up i CANNOT wait to see how this amazing series progresses!!

Debase is such a damn good book that I don’t even know how to express my admiration... Rachel Van Dyken has created the perfect mix between a dark mafia world, brightness of love and a touch of humor. Everything is so smoothly connected that despite its lighter features, this book doesn’t lose its intensity. And believe me - the relationship between Andrei and Alice is very fiery!
Andrei Petrov is a complicated character. Don’t get me wrong – he’s a ruthless and cruel man, but the demons that are haunting him make us see a human in the monster that the others see. Alice de Lange despite her innocence is an incredibly strong and brave woman. They both come from stigmatized families and they shouldn’t fall in love with each other. What will their love turn out to be? Damnation or salvation? One thing is certain – there’s a sacrifice waiting for them.
It's amazing how Rachel Van Dyken is able to convey every single emotion in her words. During the reading I felt Andrei's fury, Alice's suffering, their hopes and the indescribable intensity of their love. The interactions between families have been once amusing and stressing the other time. Although it's hard to say goodbye to Eagle Elite, I'm ready for Bratva Brotherhood. And with this story RVD showed that I will not be disappointed ;)

it feels like forever since i rated a book 5 stars. can you believe it? a mafia book i am completely and utterly in love with. i could never find a mafia book that even came close to the Made Series (fav series ever) but this book was a damn good competitor.
i genuinely loved this book with my entire being. it is most definitely a top TEN read for me this year. everything was so beautifully written, the writing was flawless and flowed so well. it was the depth in the emotions, the words used to describe emotions i didn’t think was possible. it was the dark, dark themes, the topics of suicide and so much blood, death and gruesomeness but still bringing light onto the paper. it was so impactful in the way that it delved so deep in the emotions of each character and how their mind worked. i cannot tell you how many times i teared up reading this book because of how beautifully the love, the life, the everything was written.
this book is a dark mafia book filled with many dark themes and topics. this book follows two characters from tragic backgrounds, filled with so much darkness and despair in their lives, they can’t help but want to leave it even when they know they cannot. Andrei is a made men of a huge empire where he saves as many women as he can but the darkness has eaten up his soul and made him immune to the feelings of warm and love and even desire. Alice is the daughter of a mafia boss who has endured countless of sexual abuse at the hands of her family, and is surrounded by the darkness that inflicts upon her everyday. Andrei and Alice’s relationship are one of the most pure relationships i have ever read. their innocence and the way they hold onto each other so tight, protecting each other from the darkness around them is so profound. i felt the hurt child in both of them who’s childhood was filled would gruesome, inhumane things their families did. i don’t think i can love a couple more than i love them. their way of protecting each other, loving each other to the core, even when they didn’t know what love was, made me incredibly teary-eyed. it was the beauty in their innocent love. their struggle to take back their innocence and constant fight for each other’s protection was the purest i have ever read. i just loved that Andrei was only a year older than Alice, which is something very unusual for mafia books, but it was done so well because their love, their relationship felt so pure and real. they chose each other every single time, and protected each other with their lives. they were each other’s first everything, they craved each other’s initials into each other’s chest, they said oaths to each other even when they knew they weren’t going to last, Andrei said his wedding vows to Alice in Russian the first time they made love. writing this review brought tears to my eyes.
it took 3 days to read this book because i kept stopping because i didn’t want to finish it too fast. i was deeply, irrevocably in love with this book and everything about it. yes, i thought some parts were filled with too much information to the point where it got confusing and some parts were too dramatic and i didn’t really like the friend group other than Andrei, but the way Andrei and Alice’s relationship was written in this book, i could read it 100 times again just to relive their epic love story. i probably highlighted over 200 different quotes in this book.

Debase is the start of spinoff series from RVD's Eagle Elite series. While there are a lot of previous characters in this book, you do not need to know their stories to understand this book.
RVD has a family tree at the beginning of the book to give you an idea of who is who and how they are all connected, but I will be honest, that confused me and I have read ALL the Eagle Elite books. So it may be best to read this one without that knowledge at first.
Debase is Andrei's book - the last of the Russian Mafia. He's battling demons and trying to escape the path his father paved for him. He's definitely a character that you will love but hate some of his decisions. His definition of a good time is torturing those who have crossed him. He lives up to the reputation that precedes him.
Alice is the one obstacle that Andrei did not see coming. Her intrusion into his life comes with complications. She's an extremely strong woman, especially after all that she has endured. She quickly became a fave character of mine.

Andrei Petrov is the last boss of the Petrov Family. Alice De Lange, Girl Number 632, is his captive and quite possibly could be his downfall. What happens when they are faced with choices that have to be made?

The first book in the new Elite Bratva series is very well written with a strong plot line. I have eagerly waited for Andrew's book and Rachel Van Dyken did not disappoint. This story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. She pulls all of your emotions to the forefront while you read about Andrei and Alice.
