“Being fooled does not make you a fool. You only become a fool when you continuously fall for the same shit.” -Unknown By definition, a fool is a person who lacks good sense or judgement and in the mind of family and friends alike, Chandler Wilkes fits the bill to a T. While those in her small circle are quick to judge her or give advice on what they would or wouldn’t put up with when it comes to love and relationships, they’ll soon find through their own personal experiences that we all play the fool sometimes. ***Book ends in a cliffhanger and is part one of a two part series!***
1st read by this author. This was a well written story for Chandler seemed to be that of the title when it came to Zac. The supporting characters Anya and Massai also seemed to have their share of relationship issues. Storyline full of drama as Vaughn continuously tried to cause chaos. The ending was definitely shocking and has me wanting to know what happens next
This was one very well written book with a great storyline and character development. Chandler had me wanting to shake her up with the way she was behaving and her naivete. I wanted to feel sorry for her but the constant in your face disrespect she allowed from Zac had me pissed. Although she began to somewhat boss up on Zac, Massai is who she truly belongs with and the added bonus at the end is what makes it all the more reason for these two bestfriends to take things to the next level. Ayla needs to stop playing games and get Donovan back. Can't wait for the truth to come out about Zac and he gets what he deserves along with that baby mama of his.
What a web the writer has weaved for us! When I first started reading this story I felt it was somewhat all over the place and then the story settles in a takes off . I love the dynamics of the relationships going on in the story. I also like Ayla take no prisoners attitude but she can stand to loosen up some. We is about to miss out a a real man. Now Chandler, that chick Jas some self esteem issues and I was waiting for her to boss up. She finally does, but falls right back in the trap. The story leaves us with quite a few unanswered questions. I am confident that in the next episode all will be taken care of.
If book two hadn't come out I would have never known about book one and it's absolutely fabulous. Although I must say these people are definitely foolish their hearts are good and there intentions are good. Three the hard way is Chandler, Ayla and Massai. I don't want to give too much away cuz some people do that in the review. This book will have you shaking your head, but will also have you cheering with the twists and turns. This is a great book I don't think anyone would be disappointed with it. Great job Shantae.
This book was really good but so hard for me to read. Chandler was really stupid behind Zach over and over and over again. This book and the characters were extremely relatable. I am dying to find out what happens next, especially with Chandler and her babydaddy drama. I hope ayla decides to actually let love in. And I definitely figured out what Vaughn is holding over Zach, I just need why he did it.

This book was so good! I started off hating Chandler and couldn't finish this book until I knew the finale was out. But I think I made a mistake in doing that. This story was unpredictable. To see Chandler grow was worth reading until the end. I look forward to reading the finale. Once you read this book and reach the end you'll know why this review is titled "Whew Chile...."
Because of my strong, independent, low-tolerance for BS personality, Chandler’s choices regarding her relationship with Zac really made me want to stop reading this book. I just couldn’t understand how someone could not see what was right in front of their face and continue to make excuses for a person’s behavior and choose to stay in mess. But I had to remind myself that there really are women out there that are very much like Chandler. I had to tell myself that I have to be open to reading her story and understanding why she made the choices she made because not every woman is programmed like me or thinks like me or reacts like me. And boy am I glad I did not stop reading this book because it was a great storyline and read. I loved the friendship bonds depicted in this book. I loved the sexual tension/chemistry between friends. And I always enjoy some angst. It mimics real life as we know real life isn’t always roses and unicorns. I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately started reading the finale even though it was 2 o’clock in the morning and my eyes were struggling to stay awake because I had work the next morning! Lol. Five stars.
Chandler made me want to strangle her for being so dumb! I can't wait for part 2. Hopefully we see some growth in all of the characters. Chandler needs to grow a backbone and stop being so naive, Ayla needs to grow up and give in to love. This was a great read as always. Looking forward to the finale.
This book was all that and more. Shantae really came through, but Chandler was definitely some special kind of fool. Zac and Vaughn really deserved each other. I know that they probably had something to do with Chandler’s parents death. I can’t wait to see Chandler and Massai together along with Ayla and Donovan.
Ms. Shantae has penned a story that will put any reader through a wide range of emotions from sad to happy then to down right disgust and you will love every minute. I just hope a part 2 is coming because I cannot believe this is the end. I was invested in this story from jump and can’t wait to see the outcome for these characters!
Great read! Absolutely loved it and it was so real life. A person isn’t tired until they’re tired no matter what anyone else thinks. Relationships can be so draining if we allow it to be and that’s exactly what happens here. She touched a lot of hearts with this one and I know that for a fact. As usual the ending though lol fire!!
From the way this book started, I didn't want to like it. I hated Zaccheus with a passion but I couldn't put the book down. I didn't realize it would end as a cliffhanger either. After retrieving my phone from throwing it, I must look for book two. Massai was dope. Now I need to know what happens with Donovan and Ayla, Massai and Chandler and Zaccheus of course.
Just know the title is what it is for a reason! Lol This is the first book I've read from this author, and now I'm about to binge read the rest of her books! This book was good. Massai and Donovan is bae all the way. I can't wait to read book 2, I hope there are more scenes with Donovan 😜
Oh my goodness. I am loving this book. Yes, Chandler was upsetting me real baby she was being a complete needy fool. Lala is battling with past trauma that hopefully she will heal from. Massai is a beautiful man with good intentions that he follows up with true actions. Zac is the devil.
This book was amazing I couldn’t put it down . Even though old girl drive me crazy I loved the realness of the mind set . Keep up the good work. Can’t wait for the next part
You know it's a good book when you have real emotions toward the characters. Chandler was driving me crazy. I like the characters though. These endings drive me crazy though.
Loving the story and can't wait to get to the finale. Book one had me feeling all my emotions. Looking forward to seeing how it all goes for the "Three The Hard Way" and the rest.
My dang on mouth is on the floor. All the love flowing through this book kept me invested. I love the diversity in the characters and how their plights we’re almost interconnected. I found a new favorite
They are all foolish in one way or another. The flow was on point and the character's personalities were developed. I would get into how I feel about the character's but don't want to give the story away so just read it for yourself!
This was a really good story. But Chandler was working my nerves, she couldn’t be that dumb. Zac was such a D Bag I wanted to jump in the story and fight him. I hope Chandler finally wise up.
LAWD!! Chandler was really wrecking my nerves!!! I wanted to shake her hard! She was just not comprehending what a bhole Zac was! 🤦🏽♀️ I was rooting for Massai. Zac was psychopath! OMG!!!! The agony 😖
Perfect title because a fool they all are being. Chandelier can’t more of a fool, if fool slapped her in the face. Nice story and that ending was not expecting that
Wow!!! This ending left me speechless. I suppose in way we are all a special kind of fool. Chandler took so much abuse from Zac. I was beginning to dislike her. Ayla was so bent on not being made a fool she missed a good man. I never liked Becca for Massai. She was too career minded and materialistic. Hurry up part 2. I can hardly wait.
