Peter Lemon and Aidan O’Sullivan are the proud co-owners of Grenton Groceries, a successful fruit and veg retailers in Grenton Village, Cumbria. However, commercial bliss is thrown into disarray when Aidan’s brother Norris arrives at the shop, having been recently released from prison.
Soon Norris begins to drive a rift between the men, and, following the advice of a neighbour, it becomes clear to one of them that there is only one solution.
Lemonade is a story from Ashton’s Grenton Village Collection, and has been described as ‘Cosy Crime’, a subgenre of Crime Fiction in which the crime takes place in a small, socially intimate community, often described using dark humour.
Really enjoyed reading "Lemonade" A story about Peter ( Aka Lemon) and his friend Ade. Everyone loves stories about friends, right? Check it out, guys and gals, very enjoyable read. ***** 5 Stars
This a great tale, well told and highly entertaining. The imagery of idyllic village life in Cumbria is superb, with a dark humorous twist that makes for captivating reading.
I thoroughly enjoyed narrating the audiobook version of this, available now on Audible.com and Audible.co.uk

An enjoyable read over a cup of tea. I like the way it captures the varied nature of a tight-knit community. These characters intrigue me and I'd like to see more of them. I could see this working well as a prequel and I'd like to see Peter or Gerald in another narrative. Another possibility is that this would work well in an anthology of twist-in-the-tale stories. I like the flavour of Lemonade.
This is a really fun little book, it's a short story and explores what happens to a little community when someone's brother returns to their fold. It's a nice little story and I hope to read more from Tom in the future, as he shows a lot of promise.
This book makes me think of Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected meets League of Gentlemen. Let's hope it's the start of a whole new series of Grenton village stories. Can't wait!
A friendship is tested when one friend’s brother comes to visit – just out of jail. The friends own a grocery story and the brother wants to take over the ownership with his sibling. When push comes to shove, the friend finds he has a choice to confront the brother or take the situation in his own hands. A short story and a mystery, this book was easy to read and was interesting.
