Skyla Madi’s first take on the MC genre, and I have to admit I am not 100% on board. 😬
It was a pleasant read, and it did contain a lot of the things I usually find so intriguing within the MC genre, and yet I found it lacking depth.
It had a decent plot, but it felt a bit hollow. I won’t say it was rushed, because it wasn’t, but because it felt like it only “grazed” the surface (emotions, plot, characters development), it lacked a certain amount of intensity that I usually associate with Madi’s writing.
It wasn’t gripping, my heart wasn’t pounding, and after reading the blurb, these were the feelings I was expecting.
Character wise I was so not a fan of Izzy. She grated my nerves. 😤
And I don’t really understand their attraction?
I did find the other characters in the MC intriguing, and some of the rules they had were a bit different from what I am used to (allowing women to patch in, and the “old lady” rule) and I liked that. It was different, and sometimes it’s nice to find something a bit different. It’s not what I usually prefer, but everything should not be the same. ☺️
And can I just shout out how fucking great the epilogue was? #hawt
Not sure I will be reading the next instalment though🤔 It’s still up for a debate😂

Wow just WOW!! This book surely grabs you by the throttle and does not let up! It was action packed, it was steamy, it had hot as sin alpha bikers and dark, deeply disturbing bad guys... not to mention the feisty as females. I didn't want this story to end, there were parts where I cringed to myself thinking surely not, and then there were parts where a cold shower due to the hotness coming off the pages was totally needed. Sklya has indeed outdone herself with this debut MC novel, if this series is anything like this first book then it's shaping up to be up there with my favourite MC series... A must read for all MC lovers!!

Damn! This book blew me away. I really wasn't expecting what I got from this book as MC isn't Skyla Madi's style but what a fool I am. This woman could type the phone book and it would kick off with a bang and hold you engrossed and not wanting a book to stop.
This story is raw, blood thirsty and definitely isn't for the faint of heart. Some of the situations had me gasping and holding my breath and on a few occasions, I was sick to my stomach to read what someone is prepared to do, this isn't even about money, it's about power nonetheless.
Creed and Isabelle's love story is beautiful, tender and touching to read. Even big bad guys can learn to change and adapt. For me this book shows you that family isn't always blood, it's about becoming family where you can rely on them and they you, always.
This book has a huge rough MC storyline but it never took away all the tenderness that was need to bring these two people together. I really can not wait for the next book to release. I can honestly say this book was a shining surprise. I thoroughly recommend this book and from what I had read to date this series is gonna blow people away.

A mayor and a biker.... sound like the opening to a bad joke huh? Well in this case it’s not a bad joke, it’s some bad times ahead.... I absolutely loved this book!!!! I cannot wait till book 2 releases. I’m not leaving any hints as to what you’ll read, just know it’s full of twists and turns, and some hot, hot, steamy moments. Happy Reading ;)

Burning Road has everything in it- drama and incredible action with heart thumping suspense, passion and romance, familial ties including non-biological family members and a faint touch of humour. I literally couldn’t put it down!
This is the first book about the Devil’s Cartel MC where James Creed, or Creed, is the Vice President of the Exeter chapter and until now has been happy not to commit to any one female. Isabelle Laurent sees and knows that Creed is the man for her, Creed doesn’t exactly argue with her idea, however things do not progress smoothly for them.
Izzy described Creed perfectly... he is an “alpha male, a powerful embodiment of masculinity”... one that sets your heart racing. Izzy is a character who hasn’t needed much in the way of material things as she had it given to her by her father-the mayor of Exeter-the things that really matter though... not so much.
Together Izzy and Creed are a combustible couple that go together like peas and carrots. Although totally different, it is through Creed that Izzy realises what a fake life she has lived and likewise Creed realises what his life could be like with Izzy in it.
I found as the story progressed so did the character descriptions, building a clear picture of each individual. The fact that Jonathon Laurent was an evil, good for nothing pig of a father comes across loud and clear. The more he was in the story the more I detested him and my heart broke for Izzy.
This is a fast paced and easy to read book due to the solid storyline. It has you experiencing a whole range of emotions that either make you upset, scared, furious, feel excited or lightheaded with happiness. However the anger I felt towards certain characters and their actions was extremely intense due to the scenes with their very detailed descriptions. I found myself so irate that I wanted a particular character to die-multiple times!
I loved every bit of this fantastic story and look forward to reading the next book, Burning Daylight.

This is the first book in the Devil’s Cartel MC series.
And what a first book it is! This book is hot hot hot!
I don’t know, maybe it’s just because I’ve been drowning in high school bully romance books but that was so refreshing. An alpha Male who knows what he wants, why he wants it, and when we can, goes and gets it. Faithful, loyal, will go to the end of the world and beyond to protect her. The perfect VP!
Burning Road is low on info about the actual MC and what’s going on in there but as an opening gambit that makes perfect sense. I’m sure there will be more about that as the series progresses, you don’t wan’t to chuck too much info in there and lose the romance story hidden within, it’s a balance.
James Creed is a force to be reckoned with. He is fierce! There’s not a great deal about his history, or past, how and why he came to be in the MC. Why is he hanging back on women? Who hurt him? What are his motivations here? But his fascination and obsession is here in detail!
This book is very in the moment, what is happening now and what is coming next. You could take any one of the guys, or girls, next and it would feel right. Personally, I’d like Judge or Armi to be next!
Izzy was infatuated, and after their first meeting I can kind of see why! I love that we get to see so much of what’s going on in her mind, its like we get this sneak peek into everything! And while we get more of her background and history we are still in the moment with her figuring one move through to the next.
This book is super hot and their chemistry is off the charts! With an MC full of men this hot I can only imagine what will come next!

I really enjoyed Creed and Izzy's story.
Izzy is the daughter of the Mayor, she has always has the best of everything...a real princess.
Creed is a hard man, VP of a MC, a club full of hard men.
From the first time they saw one another, they had a thing for each other but what can you do when you come from 2 different worlds?
Will Izzy and Creed find happiness? Will the club survive a power hungry politician and a rival MC?
This book is gritty and raw, just like the men of the MC. They've killed but according to them it was people who deserved it. They did good also, charity events to give to those in need.
The writing is good. I felt the characters were well defined and the author described events really good. It was easy to picture.
I would definitely read more about this crew.

Skyla!!! This book was so worth the wait as soon as this shit was announced and I LOVED it. I love biker books because it’s always soothes my need of something gritty, dirty and dangerous in a very sexy way and my god, that last chapter made my whole fucking day. Luh muh gurlz ❤️

I like outside of the box moments- and i like changes in the MC genre that are different and not so cookie cutter and expected. But! I didn’t like two changes in an MC this time. 1. Women patching in. 2. The ol’ lady rule. I hate this one the most as I feel like it’s a way for the president to get his kicks off. I wonder- when the last man is standing and he gets an Ol’ Lady, who will he share with!? Mmm hmm. Stupid, horny rule.
Otherwise- I liked the story, though I don’t know where the love came in from. It’s not like we had loads of moments where they spend time together or chat- or date....
However, I liked the action, the storyline, the pace, the consistency of something always happening. And I liked the club members- they grew on me. Even Judge by the end.

If you like your MC reads gritty and full of action and suspense then this is the book for you! Creed and Izzy’s story is one hell of a ride! A great start to a new series and lots of interesting side characters as well, looking forward to reading the next book!

I am hooked, this was an amazing book, excellence writing, definitely love the characters, Creed bada** biker who takes what he wants.. Izzy is a spoiled rich girl who catches Creed's eye, their attraction is explosive . There's lots of action, definitely sexiness.. , definitely looking forward to Burning Daylight!!! For first time writing MC this is one of the best I've read in awhile... Congratulations!!!!

Creed is not a good man. Isabelle's life isn't as pretty as it seems. You better hang on tight when you start this series. I absolutely adore Skyla Madi and the world she has created with the DCMC. It's gritty, gasp inspiring, and heart rending all the same time. I can't wait to see what happens with the rest of guys in the MC and the women who will tame their wild hearts.

Quick little ready. Sorry rounded up nicely. Not a book I would re read and didn't get hooked to ready any more. Was a canny little free book read.
